Just curious if anyone ever has. I have thought about it but I figure on not getting in. I'm smart but probably not THAT smart; plus I'm not really motivated enough to seek out the testing. I have been averaging 2-3 points higher than average on the practice MAT tests but have no way of knowing whether that will translate into the required 500 score required for admission. To be honest, $150 is a bit much for me to blow on testing just for a whim.

Each of the shows and films follow and highlight the most important ships in the Federations' History.

Most of the ships followed as part of the shows and movies have had a hand in, or were directly responsible for, either saving Earth, saving The Federation, or in some cases saving the Galaxy itself.

But Voyager seemed to do it all several times over in addition to significant other achievements.

Some of the biggest highlights:

• Crippled the Borg and either saved or bought significant time for The Federation, Alpha Quadrant, and the Delta Quadrant from their continued threat
• Defeated and then established peace with Species 8472, likely saving the entire Galaxy in the process
• Saved a good portion of the Delta quadrant from the damaging fallout of the Omega Particle experiments
• While involved with the conflict's origins, helped to bring peace and stability to the Q Continuum with unknown implications for the Galaxy and beyond
• Saved (or maybe just delayed) the Delta Quadrant from the ravages of the Krenem Time Weapon
• Saved Earths entire Solar System from destruction by stopping the Time Ship stolen by Henry Starling
• Saved the USS Prometheus from getting into Romulan hands, with unknown effects on the Romulans joining the Dominion war
• Established peace with the nucleogenic lifeforms by helping to stop the USS Equinox, which had it gotten back to the Alpha quadrant might have brought the conflict with them

Those are probably it's biggest achievements.But on a somewhat smaller, albeit non so insignificant scale, they also:

• Directly helped countless societies along the way in the Delta Quadrant and established First Contact with more species than any other ship
• Brought home significant technological and biological discoveries for the Federation learned in their battles with The Borg and Species 8472
• Brought home data on Quantum Slipstream drives
• Brought home data on stabilizing the Omega Particle
• Brought home data on mobile holographic projection from the 29th century
• Brought home data on Warp 10 flight
• Brought home significant tactual advancements and data from the 25th century version of Captain Janeway
• Some of the most Advanced Holographic AI via the personal growth of The Doctor
• Obtained perhaps the single greatest intelligence asset on the Borg when they rescued Seven of Nine, this had the added bonus of significant biological and technological data on countless other species throughout the galaxy

Quick Note - This theory is meant to be fun, and is based on observations and statistics. I’m not saying “see, what I would do is deliver a quadruple spin kick, then land a quintuplet elbow on JCVD.” I fully realize that Dux and Chong-Li (heck, any of the Kumite fighters would hurt me) would obliterate every bone/joint/blood vessel in my body. Also, please read at least half of it before you say I'm wrong.

While researching Bloodsport for a data article, the seed of an idea was planted in my mind. The added scrutiny and analysis made me wonder if Chong-Li, the ultimate badass, lost the championship fight on purpose. Think about it, in his first eight fights in the tournament, he proved himself to be a tactician, who despite a few rough spots, showed everyone that he understands angles, utilizes footwork well, and knows how to take down his opponents with strategic strikes. Watch this GIF, and remember it when I break down the final fight.

Watch the eight fights again (link here, or find timestamps in breakdown of fights below), then watch the final. Chong-Li completely falls apart. There’s a reason for this, as the championship brawl was choreographed and filmed to showcase the many skills of JCVD. The problem is, by showcasing these skills, the final fight plays completely false. In the context of the movie, it seems like Chong-Li either completely forgot how to fight, or was forced to lose after killing his opponent and losing favor with the Triads who were allowing the tournament to be fought in Hong Kong, and the Black Dragon Society (who have a rich and powerful heritage - 00:35:25), and their co-sponsor the International Fighting Arts Association (IFAA) - who clearly didn’t like that Chong-Li snapped a semifinalists neck. Or, he could’ve been threatened after his semi-final match by the Royal Hong Kong Police who were working with the American military to keep the US asset (Frank Dux - the US military spent a lot of time and money training him) alive and healthy. Either way, Chong-Li was a different fighter in the finals, and in the context of the film, there has to be a reason.

I played a total of 49 games this year, among them were some of the best I've ever played that easily found their way onto my favorite video games of all-time list. What follows is each game with a rating out of 10 and some of my thoughts on what I liked and didn't like about each one. Hope you enjoy and let me know what you think!

Aggelos (Switch) 6.5/10

Nice little retro inspired 2D action platformer with light metroidvania qualities. It looks good, has a nice soundtrack, and controls really well. Some of the bosses are a bit tough and dying at them can be a bit punishing. Not having an actual map really makes the backtracking and looking for items extremely frustrating.

Assassin's Creed Unity (Xbox One) 7/10

I had never played an Assassin's Creed game before but wanted to try out a game in the series. I was able to get this for about $1 and loved the setting of Revolutionary Paris so I was excited to get started. Since this is the 8th installment in a huge franchise, the playstyle is already well established and can be a bit difficult for a newcomer like myself to get into at first which was definitely true here. After wrapping my head around the controls and gameplay structure, I really got into it. Exploring the city and being put in cool situations where you have to kill someone and escape was extremely entertaining for me and never got to be too much. Highlights include the sewer mission as well as climbing the Eiffel Tower.

Battletoads (Xbox One) 7/10

Took a really dated and impossibly hard franchise and brought it into the modern world with this latest entry. I enjoy all the variety (beatemup, warioware like mini-games, schmup, platformer, puzzles, turbo tunnel) as well as the voice acting/story which is a bit cheesy but in a saturday morning cartoon kind of way. Some parts are tough but not unreasonably so.

Blasphemous (Switch) 8/10

Great metroidvania with a unique setting and themes that sets it apart from others. It's definitely on the harder side (especially for me when I went down a harder path before I was supposed to) but it gets more manageable once you get used to the combat and are able to get some much needed upgrades. Speaking of the combat, it's more deliberate than other metroidvanias so you have to be more considerate of dodging and countering which at times can slow the pace down but also supplies more of a challenge.

The Cognitae are a heretical sect that have opposed the Emperor for a very long time. In the Eisenhorn/Ravenor series (set in M41) we see the handiwork of Cognitae agents across the Helican subsector, where they are even described as a 'Shadow Inquisition'.

All the schemes of the Cognitae revolve around Enuncia:

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

"My name is Salazar Erde, codename "Prometheus". I am a leader of the organization known as "Beholder". Our task was to protect humanity from the extraterrestrial threat. Let me tell you how everything has gone to hell, but not without the light of hope in the end.

Since the dawn of our species, when our only weapons were metal swords and crossbows, we found out about the "gods". Strange and bizarre creatures in sleek armor, traveling across the skies on metal chariots of massive proportions. Yet very soon we realized those weren't gods. No good deity would abduct their own creations and disappear in heavens without a trace. Or use them as target practice. Or eat them alive before the eyes of others. Those were celestial demons that prayed on us. That could not be tolerated.

I was there, when we, the founders of the "Beholder", attacked a group of these demons. We knew what they were capable of and prepared accordingly. One of celestial chariots, more rugged than majority, descended on a brightly lit night. These bastards targeted one of the villages, probably eager to get new slaves for their perverse purposes. Our ambush sprung into motion as soon as they touched the ground. Several hidden ballistae launched their ammo and one managed to damage one of the engines, forcing chariot to crash. When demons almost recovered from the shock, we were all over them, gutting their worthless flesh and getting our hands on everything we could take. Many of us died to spears of light or flashes of heat, but in the end we prevailed. And with first victory over the heavenly invaders, "Beholder" was born.

Our numbers grew rapidly. Youth of the village that we saved almost entirely joined our cause, seeing us as demigods who dared to oppose the unstoppable menace. A small group of similarly minded brothers and sisters soon became a squad, which then transformed into a small army and ended up as a mysterious order, skulking in the shadows of human society. As arcane as demonic weapons and artifacts were for us, we studied and used them with care. Metal toothpicks that we started with were replaced with molten-hot sabers, wooden crossbows were thrown away for shinning plates that spitted fire, light and metal. And each chariot we managed to take down was a treasure trove of discoveries. Each benefited our righteous crusade against evil from beyond the skies.

Humanity grew and so did we. But "Beholder" remained in shadows, still more than capable of dealing with the demo

I've been muddling around a custom chapter idea and wanted some feedback/ ideas.

The world this chapter comes from is one that is mostly dark. The days are shrouded in a perpetual twilight thanks to heavy cloud cover/ natural air pollutants like excessive amounts of sediment. During the Horus Heresy, resources were pulled away by the Imperium and society began to collapse. Today, the planet is not very advanced and the culture is similar to ancient Greece. Life is hard fought to find arable land and enough light to grow crops. Settlements are dug in and people rarely travel due to dangerous megafauna like "griffons" and "basilisks". The people of this planet believe they are living a second life on this dangerous world as penance for sins committed in a prior life. As such, they named the planet Tartaros. Eventually, they were refound by the Imperium but left in their current state to serve as a Space Marine Chapter homeworld. They believe that they can only redeem themselves through hard work and dedication to the God-Emperor. Due to these beliefs, they are a serious people who do not shirk from hardship and duty. They believe those chosen to serve as Space Marines are called to a higher duty and honored. Similar to the Space Wolves, the Space Marines of this world don't interact much with the local population beyond selecting individuals to become aspirants. The symbol of the Space Marines of this world is an open flame. It references Prometheus giving fire to humanity, but being punished for it. The lesson is to not rush into an action, even a "good" one, or you may face dire consequences.

What I'm having difficulty with:

1. A name for the chapter.

2. Color scheme (I like Jazza's Space Bears scheme but would like to tweak it a little bit. Also open to an entirely different scheme).

3. Who they are successors to (this isn't as important but something I'd like to figure out for their lore. In gameplay terms, I'll just play as whoever until I find a chapter playstyle I like. I enjoy melee armies and am initially leaning towards Blood Angels or Space Wolves).

4. If they have any flaws or unique personality characteristics. I like the idea that they don't want to be hasty or rush into anything and thought that maybe they sometimes suffer from fits of a Space Wolf-style berserk rage (temporary and not a more permanent Black Rage). This could be seen as sins from their previous life manifesting and lead to a need to conquer those sins.

Hey, I wanted to share this writing a did many years ago for the Ayahuasca Erowid experiences vault, as I've enjoyed reading experiences here, so I thought to share one of mine ..

It's a bit long and peculiar, describing visiting the 11th dimension, meeting a Lizard being, being called by a Satanic Cult, rescuing part of my sons soul and ultimately feeling what it is to transform into a GPU (Wut! :D).

Would be interested in hearing if you have had similar types of experiences with Ayahuasca, especially contact with high level entities or transforming completely into something else .. Anyway, hope you enjoy reading it ! Was definitely a strong experience, my 6th time drinking Ayahuasca together with my friend who had studied the medicine in the jungle ..

Just want to preface this a little bit that I am very sensitive to energies, and also being in these states has always been a natural thing for me, like I already always remembered how to work in altered states of being. Shamanism and the medicine path has also called me strongly during my life, and I have some innate skills how to navigate these realms. I am also a software developer and engineer, always interested in how things work on a deep level .. just giving some context to these experiences.

The Setting
It had been 6 months since I had last drank Ayahuasca. I had been blessed to know people who have trained in the art of brewing and working with the spirit of Ayahuasca. I had never visited the jungles of Amazon, but I know a person who has, and with him, I’ve been lucky enough to have to experiences in my home country, many times in a summer cabin in the middle of the woods, by a lake.

My friend contacts me. How about some healing session this weekend? I hesitated for a while. My friend suggested we do it the day after tomorrow. I was thinking of doing some LSD that weekend, like I had done the past two weekends. Just some slight introspection and maybe making music.

But Ayahuasca, now that’s a completely different thing. Back of my mind I had a memory of that first time, the roughest experience I’ve gone through in my whole life. It had burned itself into my retinas, the healing that happened that night was something so deep and in my face that I will never forget it. I let go a lot of darkness that night.
