A list of puns related to "Previously Unaired Christmas"
Iβm rewatching Glee all over again and have managed to make it back to βPreviously Unaired Christmasβ. From Santanaβs time as Mrs. Claus to Kurt being a hog tied Rudolph to Ryder pulling baby Jesus out of Unique, I honestly donβt know which scene was the most insane of them allπ. I just want to hear yβallβs thoughts about the episode too (even though itβs no where near Christmas π).
So were there supposed to be 2 Christmas episodes in Season 4 or was one of them scrapped and they made another one? Iβm confused.
Iβve rewatched every series of Glee multiple times. Iβm not a big fan of Christmas, so I will always skip the Christmas episodes in my rewatches and, as it turns out, I had never seen the Season 5 episode, A Previously Unaired Christmas, at all. So today I sat down to watch it, and I have several questions:
First of all - what did I just watch? Second of all - why?
This episode is genuinely the most chaotic and bizarre piece of television Iβve ever seen. I mean - the chipmunk song?? What even was that? Love Child? What? It was hilarious, donβt get me wrong, but I am utterly baffled. One has to wonder what they cut out, if that was the final, least offensive version!
What did you think of the episode? What kind of response did it get when it aired?
the episode was supposed to be before santana found out about sam, so it doesn't make much sense that santana was resentful with brittany
Was "Previously Unaired Christmas" actually scrapped by execs as Jane Lynch says in the intro or is that just a gag so they have an excuse to put in a Christmas episode since their timeline is so messed up from spreading a school year over a season and a half?
First off, they shouldnβt even be performing the Story of Baby Jesus in a public high school because it violates the separation of church and state law. Secondly, yes, Kitty wanted the role of the Virgin Mary in the play, but instead of just playing fair and trying out for the role like everyone else who wanted it did, she spent her time openly demeaning Unique, Marley, and Tina for trying out/performing the role themselves, then inexplicably got handed the role by Unique at the end of the episode for bitching about it and demanding it from her.
Iβm just so annoyed by RIB rewarding bitchy and unprofessional diva behavior on this show. Theyβve done the same thing with Rachel at times, too.
I was really surprised to see that Previously Unaired Christmas was a disliked ep here, because it's either my #1 or my #2 Glee Christmas ep--I adored the Kurcheltana, I enjoyed what they were trying to do with Kitty (how she was battling the hypocrisy she was feeling, because she actually believes and wants to practice her religion but the way she acts are very much against Christ's teachings, and how she didn't deserve to even dress up as Mary), and Love Child was just fucking insane in the best way HAHA (a little bit blasphemous, but the kids were just having fun and you could really tell they weren't taking this shit seriously, which is honestly something I missed in the later seasons )
Anyway, the only other people I've seen who like PUC are Santana fans, HAHA, so I was just wondering if liking Santana had anything to do with it :))
It's a super trivial thing but I've been curious about it since last year so Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
I just finished watching previously unaired Christmas (S5 E8) and it was the worst Glee episode I have ever seen. Not only was it arguably offensive, the characters seemed out of place and unlike themselves. Plot was weak and unnecessarily raunchy. It also wasn't as coherent as other episodes - apparently they had to cut a lot of it because of how bad it was, which is saying something because the edited version is horrendous. Wow. the most disappointing episode in Glee.
Heads up!

In other news, most of you know me already from around the community, but just in case you don't, I am a new mod for /r/glee/.
That said, I just wanted to let you all know that I'm going to be taking over the weekly threads from /u/steph-was-here. If there is anything that you would like to see, or anything that I miss, let me know and I'll fix it directly. Thanks!

I specifically remember Santana only moving to the city after Christmas (In season 4), and in the promos, Santana is with Kurt and Rachel? I hope this is addressed... I'm very confused.

"Remember the ill-fated OJ Simpson project If I Did It? The former NFL star turned murder suspect turned armed robber attempted to pass off as fiction a thinly veiled recap of the murder of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in a book by that title. Outrage over Simpsonβs attempt to exploit the murders for financial gain killed the project, as well as questions about whether Simpson was actually confessing to the murders after insisting all along on his innocence.
Over eleven years later, Fox News plans to unveil an interview with Simpson from November 2006 intended to promote the book, TMZ reports, and it may become clear why the book and the PR campaign got canceled. According to their sources, Simpson got confused about the pretense of using the third person and ended up offering something very close to an on-camera confession. And, Simpson allegedly says during the interview, he wasnβt alone, either:
'Sources familiar with the program tell us, Simpson talked in the third person as he described how the murders might have been committed, but at some point in the interview he lapsed into first person. Weβre told it sounded like a first-person account of the murders and, although itβs not a clear confession, itβs in that arena.
Weβre told Simpson flat-out talks about an accomplice who was with him at Nicoleβs home. He did not name the accomplice.'"
The show was originally slated for taping and broadcast in March, but GAORA pulled their production crew two days before the show due to COVID precautions & the show hosting a live audience. Wrestle-1 filmed the show themselves for their weekly youtube show, but only showing highlights. GAORA is giving this a four-hour timeslot.
This was not originally planned to be Wrestle-1's final big show. The company even had a Korakuen schedule set all the way through December of this year, but the early effects of COVID and investors pulling out due to the company running in the red its whole existence sealed its fate and cancelled all plans. Wrestle-1 announced its closing two weeks before this show.
The shutdown also clearly affected its remaining booking - Kaz Hayashi was in no way telegraphed to being the company's final champion. Kaz vs Katsuhiko Nakajima (c) was a throwback match to when both guys were rivals/partners in early ProWres LOVE AJPW, the backstory boosting what would have been old Kaz getting beaten by a peaking Nakajima. In-reality, Kaz ends up winning the title to give a somewhat happier ending to the company his booking and leadership had already restored a lot of respect for.
