A list of puns related to "Post mortem photography"
I was browsing /r/askreddit (the most reliable source known to mankind #obvi) and I came across a comment which implied that the Victorian English every so often staged photoshoots with their recently deceased kin.
Is there any truth to this claim, and if so... why?
I've read about post-mortem photography that stands were sometimes used to prop up the dead to appear as lifelike as possible. Before my mother's death, she said this photo was of my grandfather (he was born in 1878)- https://imgur.com/a/5lxmrE3. I always thought it was creepy his eyes were drawn in, but I just noticed this weekend there was a stand behind him. If this boy is deceased, clearly he's not my grandfather. I know photography was difficult with long shutter times- did they use stands for people who were alive as well?
I am interested in detailed information on post mortem photography. Here are some possible questions:
Whereas it's often referred to as 'victorian' I think there are also later examples, even from the 20^th century. Is it possible to determine when this phenomenon started, and when it was discharged?
And what was the geograohical and social framework they belong to? (Is it limited to Europe and North America? Is it a phenomenon of all social classes?)
And is it right to assume that it has been especially popular for babies and children?
And what was the function of the pictures? Were they framed and exhibited? Were they put in albums? Were they reproduced and sent to relatives?
So full playthrough was 35 hours which is quite long. Well worth the money.
The more annoying sides of VTMB started to show over and over again:
-Taxi rides: whenever you move from area to the other, the left click for selection gets interpreted from time to time as a click to arm your weapon, causing an immediate criminal violation upon arrival
-glitch involving shooting when loading a game: You load and you start endlessly firing with your active weapon
-autosaves: absolute garbage. You can be several spaces ahead and the game does not autosave at crucial moments for you
So....
I did most of the side quests I could find, including all of the hacker and Gary photo side quests (with the Plus Patch installed)
-Werewolf in forest and around observatory: Great design, especially for back then. A real blood pumping experience
-the moment of choice comes while riding in the taxi, I went with going back to Lacroix to explain the situation.
-final showdown>! at the chinatown temple with Ming-Jao, annoying battle as its close quarters, but bloodpacks can make it really easy along with a flamethrower. Had I known she was the final boss, I think I would have been more generous!<
Erm... I got an odd ending (Prince): >!The Sarcophagus was opened, but not age-old demon to fight, no elder Vampire, instead just dynamite that blows up Lacroix and the PC... What an anti-climax that came from nowhere! The Anarchs look on from the distance, laughing at the carnage.!<
WTF.
Well, I still enjoyed the game, but have this feeling that I made the wrong choice and got the bad ending. Is it worth going back to the taxi driver part and choosing another side? >!Anarchs or Independent, or is there yet another one?!<
How different (without spoiling the endings) does the final part play out based on your choices?

I've posted before about my buyback experience, but this will be the $$$-specific post to wrap up everything. FWIW, my Bolt was registered in MD and I'm a resident of MD.
2019 Bolt Premier (purchased NEW), MSRP: $43,905 (~22k miles on the odometer at time of buyback approval)
Via the MSRP trade route, I selected a 2021 Chevy Blazer w/$33,795 MSRP (no incentives/discounts).
I did not use ~$10,110 of my replacement/trade credit, so GM applied that unused credit to my existing loan balance for my Bolt (my understanding is if I had no loan balance, the unused credit would have simply been forfeited). So the balance I had to cover to complete the trade into the Blazer was my Bolt's old balance -$10,110.
I decided to park the Blazer in a nearby storage lot until the title came in, as the plan was to sell it to the highest bidder. Ended up requesting a duplicate title as it was taking forever for the original one to arrive.
While waiting ~6 weeks for the title to arrive, I shopped numerous used dealers to find the best price for my Blazer. Contacted all the online dealers (Carvana/Vroom/ALgo, Driveway, etc), several dealers around town (local Nissan/Toyota/Chevy/CarMax), but a dealer I had never heard of CarBuyer USA) offered the highest price (by $600). Reviews looked decent enough, and they ended up being (mostly) legit.
So while this entire buyback experience was at times hellish (8 months including the time to sell the Blazer), in the end it was worth it as I came out waaaaay ahead financially. For a comparison on if I had simply broke down and sold my Bolt to the highest used dealer back in the spring, best quote I got over the months was $22k from Vroom. A final breakdown:
I did the other post-mortem with the cast and here is this one as well, this subreddit gets a nice shoutout and it answers the question of why Trinn killed Spencer with acid!
MAJOR SPOILER WARNING (obviously)
A Blunt Force Korma
Is there a post-mortem by the OB1 team? It would be nice hear what they thought worked, what didn't work, and what they would do differently. It seems to me that there is still a need for something like Openbazaar. Maybe someone else can pick up where OB1 left off and fix the issues that caused OB1 to fail.
On June 16 or 17, depending on where you are, 7 Defi sites on BSC were exploited. (Also, this was the same day that Iron Finance on Polygon had its $IRON/$TITAN synthetic peg protocol break down and drive the value of $TITAN from $64 to fractions of a penny.)
This is the post-mortem that GarudaSwap posted on its site.
--------------------------
What Happened & What Next
What exploit happened today for GoCerberus and Garuda , also for Lokum, YBear, Piggy, CaramelSwap and our rough compensation plan
Dear Garudians and Cerberions community,
Today, June 16th, multiple farms their native tokens were exploited all the way to $0.00. Lokum, YBear, Piggy, CaramelSwap. Sadly enough GoCerberus and Garuda were exploited as well.
All non-native funds in our contracts are safe, and you are able to withdraw them without a problem. The exploit limits itself specifically to the native token only, and when executed it allowed the exploiter to amplify their rewards by a massive amount to effectively mint as many tokens as they want.
The exploit is not inherent to our contract. Most of the yield farms use a trusted contract called a MasterChef, which is used even by PancakeSwap themselves to distribute rewards. The problem is that the MasterChef was never designed for all these special tokens, it was designed specifically to receive rewards for LP tokens.
But, yield farms kept popping up and adding non-LP tokens and everything was fine. Until recently tokens with a transfer fee became more popular. Most of our tokens have a transfer fee as well, itβs how we can have our tokenomics. But the problem is that the MasterChef was not designed for this.
Due to the design of the masterchef if you stake 100 tokens (with a 5% transaction fee) in a MasterChef, you are still able to withdraw 100 tokens from the MasterChef. But due to the transfer fee, only 95 tokens actually arrived in the contract. We actually figured that this would happen with our native token GoCerberus, and we updated the masterchef to deduct the transaction fee from the balance, eliminating the issue.
But sadly enough we did not add this code to our non-native pools. This wasnβt such an issue, none of the non-native tokens have a transaction feeβ¦ Except for the Garuda token. Earlier today we noticed that the Garuda pool balance was getting smaller and some users reported that they could no longer withdraw. We had disabled depositing to this pool

Prior to doing an autopsy the coroner performed a COVID test on my relative and discovered he was actually COVID positive. Due to this finding, the coroner has told my family that based on protocol they will no longer be doing an autopsy on my relative. Despite their protocol my family has insisted they would like an autopsy to be completed because of the unexpectedness of my relatives death, however the coroners office stated that they will not be doing it.
To provide some context into the reasoning for the family insisting for an autopsy, my relative lived at home alone, he was in his mid 50's, healthy prior to with no co-morbidities such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension etc. My family has looked into his digital footprint following his death and discovered he had ordered food online for pick up 5 - 6 days prior to the discovery of his death. We are also aware that 4 days prior to the discovery of my relatives body he had logged onto Whatsapp in the morning. While 4 - 6 days seems like a long time for COVID to develop, we were informed by the police and the coroner that the state of decomposition of my relative showed he had likely passed away at least 2-3 days prior to his body being discovered.
Which leads me to the question, can a person deteriorate that quickly from being able to drive to pick up food to dying from COVID within a day or two? Unfortunately no one in the family had been in contact with my relative over the past few weeks so no one is able to know exactly how unwell or well he might have been throughout the course of this time. but it is also due to this reason that my family is in quite a bit of distress and disbelief that it is simple just COVID that caused my relative to pass away. Therefore, they are hoping for an autopsy. However, the coroners office is insisting that due to my relative testing positive they will not be performing an autopsy.
At this time I am unsure if my relative testing positive of COVID has now simply become the cause of death or if their reasoning for not performing autopsy is because there is a risk of transmission to the coroner and other staff if an autopsy is performed on my relative.
What are your thoughts regarding this? and what further steps do you think I could take in this issue? I am from B.C. Canada so I could see how di

For the uninitiated, Corridor Crunch was an open-source project with the goal of providing crowdsourced puzzle piece transcription data to the public using the full force of the Bungie community. Users could visit our website and transcribe an endless number of screenshots submitted by the community. Transcription accuracy was determined by comparing transcriptions of the same image to each other and looking for matching data.
^(** A bug in our front end API caused transcription verification to take much longer than expected. The API was returning an incorrect hash to the database which was being used to identify matches.) ^(Oops!!)

I can't find any of the post-mortem streams on either channel, and I couldn't find any announcement from Abi about deleting them either.
Are they just gone (which I totally understand if she doesn't feel comfortable with them) or is my remaining brain cell just not looking at the right place?
