A list of puns related to "Phir Hera Pheri"
Hera Pheri recently became 21 years old, but the film still remains one of the most lauded comedy films in Bollywood. Unfortunately, after completing two decades, the film is now getting surrounded by some shocking revelations and claims. It all started when the director Priyadarshan recently took an indirect jibe on the sequel. And now, producer Firoz Nadiadwala has reacted to the same.
Priyadarshan had shared that he didnβt want to direct the sequel as he was totally against the idea of dragging the premise of the first film. As per him, a sequel wasnβt needed. Now, reacting to his statement, producer Firoz Nadiadwala has stated that Priya didnβt even direct the first film properly, so there was no question of approaching him for the second one.
Speaking to Mid Day, Firoz Nadiadwala said, βI kept mum all these years out of respect for Priyan, and because the film became a blockbuster. But he has left no opportunity to run down my father and me. How can he talk about turning down our offer to direct the second and upcoming third part, when he did not even complete the first film?β
βHe gave me a film with a runtime of three hours and 40 minutes. His version was full of depressing scenes; a lot of the humorous dialogues were deleted. He was absent during the background music recording and dubbing,β Firoz Nadiadwala added.
Firoz further revealed that after the director left the film, they added a couple of songs and a lot of punchlines and improvisations. The film was perfectly edited with the help of the late Neeraj Vora. He even claims that Priyadarshan tried his best to convince Akshay Kumar and other actors not to do a sequel.
Well, that are some serious claims made by Firoz. Letβs see how Priyadarshan responds
Hera Pheri is a movie which makes me laugh every time I watch. But Phir Hera Pheri is not rewatchable for me. It has more of slapstick comedy and is very childish, especially the end scenes. It is still far far far better than "comedy" films like Housefull 3 and 4 or Golmaal 3 and 4 but not at all as good as Hera Pheri or Dhamaal or 3 Idiots.
Hello, asking about a classic movie. My friends and I actually want to buy either the clown pants (Joker B) or the red dhoti for a stupid bet haha! Would anyone know where I can buy them from? Can't seem to locate it on Amazon!
I know most of us are excited to hear about this movie but I was initially skeptical when Indra Kumar announced he'll direct it but I'm glad he left the project (We all know what he did with Total Dhamaal) and Priyadarshan is coming back. Production will start after Akshay is done with Prithviraj and Atrangi Re, followed by Priyadarshan and Suniel Shetty who are involved in Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham currently.
Exact dates are not announced but atleast Phir Hera Pheri 3 gained traction after remaining stagnant for couple of years.
Fingers crossed.
Akshay Kumar practically dominates Indian meme space especially with his post-2000 era movies. And perhaps one of his most memeable movies is Phir Hera Pheri.
Practically every scene in this movie ends up as a template every once in a while. And they're damn good templates too. So imagine my surprise when I rewatched the movie yesterday and...well it wasn't as funny as i imagined it would be.
So the question is- did we just meme ourselves into thinking the movie is better than it is, or has it been memed so much we don't find it humourous when we actually watch the movie? On a related note- why is Phir Hera Pheri so memeable in the first place? Was it's humour ahead of its time?
Don't know which side is to blame, Akshay or the producers but this just seems unbelievable. Memes of memorable scenes and dialogues from these gems are a part of our daily internet lives, they know this (Akshay shares his own memes) and yet this is the state right now. How hard is it for them to understand that these movies are inseparable from Akshay and no one wants to watch the sequels without him. Looks like these people have lower IQ than a 2 year old.
That may be a good thing too in one way, because as per the recent trend, the producers of these movies would focus on scale, locations, and CGI rather than comedy and script (eg Welcome Back and Dhamaal sequels)
On the other hand, a series like Housefull, an attack on human intelligence, common sense and film-making itself has four movies doing a business of hundreds of crores.
For Hera Pheri lovers, this is the second installment of cult classic. Watch and relive the moments here
