Vague symptoms of Ovarian Cancer/Cysts?

Hello everyone I am a 26 year old female. I gained weight this year and a few months ago I started having acid reflux/lpr and a influx of reflux related symptoms came along with it. Well now I have lower back pain and side pain that comes and goes but is becoming more frequent. It’s like a burning/sore sensation with some pressure. I got ultrasounds of my kidneys, appendix, and gallbladder a few weeks ago at the ER for my back pain and everything came out clear? Now I also started noticing more throbbing sensations where my ovaries are. It only lasts a few seconds and it’s not too frequent but it’s there. During and after my period I’ve noticed uncomfortable pelvic pressure and now I’m just worried? The back/side pain and pelvic pressure likes to occur more during the night when I lay down for some reason. The symptoms aren’t excruciating pain like I’ve read about other girl’s experience with ovarian cancer/cysts but these are new symptoms that I’ve began to notice? Another note is that I’ve always had really heavy and painful periods for as long as I can remember. I have an appointment with my gyno on Monday but I’m debating if I should just got to the ER but the ER has a lot of COVID patients these days so idk if I want to risk it. My symptoms aren’t extremely painful or anything just uncomfortable is all.

How do I get my doctor's attention on ovarian cancer?

I have been diagnosed with Endo, adenomyosis, and fibroids. I'm also currently going through IVF with a fertility specialist separately and am at the stage for doing the embryo transfer. While I'm super happy and pumped that I'm at that final stage, I'm feeling a lot of pain from all the other issues I have to deal with (especially pain that seems to be coming from my ovaries). It's also giving me some pause, all this pain I'm feeling, I can't help but wonder if I should be screened for ovarian cancer, which I know is harder to detect. Both my doctors seem to be more focused on having success with making a baby, which I totally get, but I have a nagging feeling at the back of my mind that the pain I'm feeling shouldn't be neglected or explained away by the Endo/adenomyosis/fibroids that I have. Any tips on how to get my doctors' attention on this? What sort of cancer screening should I ask for? Are women more at risk with cancer when they have all these other women's health issues like Endo and fibroids? Or am I just overreacting (which is the impression I feel I'm getting when I speak to the docs)?

BRCA1 AND BRCA2 mutations found. Anyone know how much having both increases my risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer?

I recently found I have both a BRCA 1 and BRCA2 mutation. How much for this increase my cancer risk? I can only find numbers on having one or the other.

Im waiting for the results of my first breast ultrasound, I will get the news tomorrow morning. I’m age 28. I saw one or more lesions on my ultrasound image, around a cm in width, so I’m anticipating bad news.

If it turns out to be benign, I’m still going to be worried due to my BRCA status. I haven’t had any children yet and want a big family. I learned this week that chemotherapy can cause infertility. I also want to breast feed if I do have kids. I’m freaked out about the possibility of having to get a mastectomy at my age, or chemotherapy and risk my fertility…

Update: I got my results today from the ultrasound and what they found was graded as a BI-RADS 3 lesion.

My doctor agreed to proceed with an MRI to further inspect the lesion, as the hospital didn’t want to do a biopsy due to my age, the size, and lack of breast cancer familial history.

I’m hoping the MRI gives me a clear answer or leads to a biopsy so I can be sure this is a benign lesion, at least for now.

Fortunately, my doctor is going to refer me to a genetic counsellor so I can get more information about the risks that come with my genes.

Ovarian Cancer Scare

I’m a 47 year old woman who has been in fairly great health. For a little less than a year I began experiencing lower left abdominal pain when I’d eat certain foods. I disregarded it due to a poor diet or lack of exercise.

Each period (which come regularly), I get these sharp pains in my stomach. After going to get a pelvic ultrasound, my OBGYN indicated I had ovarian cysts of around 4.4CM and disregarded the issue. She stated that the pains would usually go away after my period, which was true. There was once where I had these sharp pains and I kept throwing up. I credited that to eating something bad the night before.

The same situation happened, and I began throwing up. Which I decided it was a good idea to visit the ER. Upon going to the ER they did a CT scan because they believed it was diverticulitis. Once the results came back, the nurse frantically came in stating that I had 2 “huge” ovarian cysts on each side. Specifically the left hand side which went from 4.5CM to 7.7CM was causing a partial bowel obstruction. They referred me to an OBGYN/Oncologist for possible malignancy because they grew so quick in a matter of 3 weeks.

I’ve run several CT scans which indicate the cysts have decreased in size. I’ve taken the CA125 test which came back slightly elevated (85 instead of max 35) and other blood test such as CA 19-9 and carcinogenic antigen test which both came back normal.

My doctor has put me in a scare which has kept me in stress for the past week as they ran tests. Now I’m having diarrhea after I eat as if I cant stomach anything and food goes right through me. Has anyone had a scare from their doctors only to later find out its benign? Please share the symptoms you had as well for help!

Jillian Owens, AKA the Refashionista, passed away on October 11 from ovarian cancer

Not sure if it's okay to post this here, and I'm also not sure if anyone else was familiar with Jillian Owens and her blog Refashionista. The premise of the blog was that she'd purchase things from thrift shops and then refashion them into something a bit more wearable. I was always in awe of her talent and her incredible eye for what these pieces could become.

I knew that she'd been diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year and was in remission as of earlier this year, but wasn't actively keeping up with her blog and didn't realize that it came back this past summer. Sadly, she passed due to complications last month.

I just wanted to put this out there in case any other sewists followed her. She was an inspiration.

Ovarian Tissue Freezing for 7mo old battling cancer

My 7mo old daughter is currently battling AML leukemia to which she will undergo a stem cell transplant as part of her treatment plan. One of the medications that she will receive prior to the transplant has a moderate to high likelihood of making her sterile. I realize it seems absolutely wild to be considering this, but our doctor raised the option to remove and freeze one of her ovaries prior to the transplant to preserve her fertility chances.

This is a long shot but I am seeking anyone who has experience or knowledge with this procedure for a child this young. We are curious about: (1) side effects of living with only one ovary after adolescence (2) recovery after extraction as well as reimplentation (3) whether anyone has successfully gotten pregnant from this procedure, especially after freezing for a very long time (decades)

Please hold any judgement - we are simply seeking information so that we can weigh our options.

TIA!

She had the surgery Thursday Nov 18th. It was by all accounts very successful but we will know more once the pathology comes back on the tumor. It was 5 lb basically 10% of her body weight from her right ovary which they removed. Luckily it did not appear any other tissue was involved but again we have to wait for pathology to confirm that. She has a 7-in incision starting above her belly button down to about her underwear line. She's resting comfortably at home now. We should know our next few steps in the next 2 to 3 days. It's a lot for a 7-year-old.

Or out of pocket Max is 6k each year. If she needs chemo we will be doing treatment until the middle of next year.

She lives tap dance, tumbling and her 2 older sisters.

Please pray for my mom, she was sent to the Emergency Room this morning because of severe pain, shes not usually one to complain about pain. According to the CT scan doctors say she most likely has Ovarian Cancer as there is a 14 inch "mass" currently inside of her.

She requires surgery, she is a believer but her physical body is weak because shes suffered from Hepatitis B(taken a lot of different types of medication) for over 20 years and is in a lot of pain. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could pray for her well-being, her surgery and for God to remind her how good He is even through this, thank you.

Ongoing complications from termination or ovarian cancer?

Please help. I've googled and looked at common threads and haven't found a situation quite like mine and I really hope someone sees this and identifies similar things they went through. I have to wait for a Drs appt due to Christmas.

In Feb of this year (2021) we found out we were pregnant. Due to the nature of my last birth (near death) I decided to terminate. I already had three young girls and decided I wanted to be here for them.

We chose a medical termination over the surgical one (take a pill) and I had all the symptoms of retained products of conception. Three months later when the bleeding finally stopped I went for an ultrasound which showed 'something' in my uterus - with one professional telling me it was in fact the foetus and another insisting it was just a polyp. The professional insisting it was a polyp was the specialist while the professional who believed it was the foetus was an ultrasound tech.

Fast forward to now. (Dec 2021) I've had these symptoms consistently and gradually worsening since the termination.

Severe back ache/back pain and pressure in my lower back.

Heartburn/digestional problems - including changes in appetite and bowel movements.

Extreme fatigue. I can get 10hrs sleep and would comfortably nap in the day if I had a chance.

Mood swings since the termination, to the extent I can be very unlike me (wasn't even this bad during my pregnancies)

Consistently positive pregnancy tests from about 1 week after my period ends until my next period starts. This is a faint positive, but clearly visible in the 1min to 10min range, then fades again after the 15min time. We have tried multiple different tests and dipped them exactly as per instruction to avoid flooding them or misusing them in any other way. We even stopped sex altogether for 3months to be sure (We have been using condoms while waiting on a more permanent solution, he has since gotten the snip)

Changed periods (usually extremely heavy day 2, then spotting for 3 days tops, so only one or two tops real period days)

Some pain during sex where previously there was none.

Consistently feeling bloated but no weight gain.

Reoccurring utis when I have never had them much before.

All the symptoms fit for ovarian cancer, they really do. I didn't put the pieces together until i googled false positive pregnancy tests, until then i had been googling causes for heartburn and fatigue etc. I'm so worried because about 8 doctors have brushed me off now while I hav

Ovarian cancer or cyst? Going stir-crazy, all advice appreciated!

Hi ladies! I’m hoping some of you would be able to serve me with some tough love, reassurance, experiences, information, whatever!

I’m a 37 year old woman and I’m basically living an ovarian cancer scare right now. I have booked a gynaecologist appointment for early January, but that’s still SO FAR away. (Earliest they could do, unfortunately.)

Some background from this year:

In the spring, I had a period that lasted for 20 days and was really quite heavy bleeding. It normalised after that and I’ve been pretty stably 32 day cycle with 5-6 days of bleeding where 1-2 days have been very heavy flow since then.

About a month ago, I had a bout of an incredibly sore belly—I thought I had appendicitis. It was Sunday evening so couldn’t just nip to the doctor’s. The pain was on the right side of my belly where the appendix is and I honestly thought my belly was about to explode. I went to lie down in bed and my husband was ready to call an ambulance if needed but then I fell asleep and when I woke up the next day I was just a bit nauseous and had an upset stomach but otherwise I felt okay. Now I’m wondering if this might have been a cyst that ruptured?

Over the past few months I’ve had an increasing feeling of pressure in my belly. It’s been notable because I’ve actively been trying to lose weight—lots of yoga, healthy diet, walks—and I still have a bulge in my lower belly that doesn’t seem to be getting smaller. In certain parts of my cycle if I stretch my tummy muscles I can feel a painful “ripping” sensation—as if something literally might burst in me.

My sex drive has been all but gone this past year (in fact my husband’s has, too). I think we’ve both been stressed by covid etc, so the last time we had sex was about 10 months ago and it wasn’t super great for me because it felt quite painful.

I’m not sure I’m peeing more than before but I do feel like sometimes it’s hard to start to urinate and I have to actively “bear down” with my stomach muscles to help me empty my bladder. My bowel movements seem very much impacted by my cycle—up to a week before my period I have a really hard time going and then during my period it’s much softer and more urgent.

In the past few weeks I’ve developed a lower back pain which COULD be totally unrelated, of course. During covid the amount of walking I do per day has dropped because I work from home, so even with concentrated effort to do more walking it could just be that I don’t get enough exercise and

When is ovarian cancer late stage?

Please forgive me if I’m not using the correct words, but how long does ovarian cancer have to be in the system until found to be considered late stage?

About 2-3 months ago my mom (48F) began having terrible pain in her ovary area. She went for a scan and the doctors told her she had a large mass, and no one really did anything about it. Now, about 3 months later, she is unable to use the bathroom, can barely get out of bed, and cannot keep down food.

My dad has been talking to a lot of doctors and many of them are saying there’s a high chance it is ovarian cancer. She is going in for a checkup but it is not for over a week unfortunately.

I’ve been reading on it, and there’s so much information about finding it late stage or finding it early, but I don’t know when that is? If my moms only been showing symptoms for 3 months, and she has it, does that mean they’ve found it late? Or how many months is early considered?

I apologize if this question isn’t clear. I’m just extremely worried and I don’t want to bother her with questions right now.

Worried that I may have ovarian cancer… any advice?

I don’t know where to turn and haven’t posted on Reddit in a while, but I hope and pray that someone will be able to help me with my fears and worries surrounding this.

Since having COVID-19 in April 2020, my body had changed. I’ve been dealing with constipation / having a hard time passing stools, bloating, and the feeling that there’s always something around my rectal area. (Sorry for the imagery but it’s the only way I’m able to articulate this with ease.) Recently, I had (non-rough) intercourse with someone and while the person / experience was wonderful, there was pain at times — something I hadn’t really experienced before during sex and thought it was odd. It felt like sharp pains in my groin / rectal area on occasion if I was on top but I didn’t want to ruin the mood so I kept going.

Needless to say, after doing some research on the Internet (which honestly is exhausting and sometimes not helpful in the slightest), I am now terrified of what is going on with my body. I haven’t really lost weight (was 129 last year, now 125) and have an appetite, but am worried about the constant feeling I have down there.

I was diagnosed with tenesmus this past spring in May but couldn’t afford the colonoscopy / biofeedback therapy because my insurance wouldn’t cover it and the feedback was $700 a session.

I have another physical scheduled for this coming Friday and will be calling my gyno again on Monday.

Again, this is more of a ramble than anything. But I’m scared. I really am. I’m a single woman in my mid 30s finally getting my life back together after years of underemployment and a separation.

Does anyone have any advice, brutal honesty or just comforting words they’re willing to share? Please?

Thank you.
