Mickey Mouse will enter public domain in 2024 but Oswald was created before Mickey will he enter PD this year or 2023. or is he already PD... The whole thing is so confusing. Some People even say he is public domain since 1950.

Recently, I have been doing some digging on Oswald to get whatever information I can get my hands on. Based on what I have found, I think Disney is still going ahead with something Oswald the Lucky Rabbit related because of a trademark they filed on December 1st, 2020. They just haven't been able to announce it because of issues with getting it. About 2 years before Disney filed for the trademark, someone else filed for an "Oswald the Rabbit" trademark which has caused Disney's application to get suspended. Disney has started legal proceedings against the "Oswald the Rabbit" trademark, but it is unclear when they will end. They need a trademark for Oswald because he is public domain(or at least the initial version of him is) due to Universal not renewing the copyright to Trolley Troubles in 1955.
Don't lose hope. Oswald stuff will come eventually.

Is anyone wanting a series based around the character of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit?
Didn’t kno where else to ask this question, so I hope someone here can help. I was on google images for Oswald when I found a gif from a Universal Oswald short, it had Oswald strapped at the wrists and ankles to a chair in like a dungeon. There was this creepy jester guy who put a n00se around Oswald’s neck, there were elephants attached to the other end of the rope and the jester whipped them to get them pulling the rope to choke Oswald. Naturally I couldn’t just bat an eye and move on from whatever the heck that was, I needed context. So I tried to find it on yt but I have been unsuccessful, google is no help so I figured I’d ask other fans of Oswald if they had the answer.
