A list of puns related to "Orpheus and Eurydice"
Growing up I was a little obsessed with greek mythology, I had a book of greek heroes stories and orpheusβs story was one of them, Iβve been listening to hozier songs for a while now and Iβve memorized almost all of them, βtalkβ was one of the songs that I rarely listened to( not because itβs not as good as the rest, believe me all his songs are equally good to me) because I was too busy memorizing other songs... then I started listening to βtalkβ I was hooked on it but I didnβt notice him saying orpheus and eurydiceβs names, a few days later I thought it was time for me to read the lyrics and when I saw their names I was overwhelmed with joy. I immediately told my friend about this song then I checked my heroes mortals and monsters book by stephen fry ( a book Iβve been slowly reading) turns out it was there!! Iβm so excited to read it. I recommend this book to everyone of you my forest god worshippers. HEROES
Considering influences from Greek mythology.
I just happened to be perusing the enamel pin section and came across this one and of course immediately thought of "talk".
I might just have to start a Hozier enamel pin board!

Doesnβt have to be that detailed but their story really intrigues me
I've been thinking abut this myth, trying to get the meaning out of it, so here it goes, I think the moment when she steps int he serpent and dies has to do with her naive expectations then encountering the source of chaos that sends her to the underworld, then the part where orpheus mourns her with her sad songs represents the process of one seeing some beloved person in chaos and not being able to help them, the part where he goes to the underworld to retrieve her enchanting hades and persephone with his skills, must mean that a well-developed psyche can expierence chaos and not be destroyed by it, the next part when he makes the deal with hades to let go eurydice back with the rule that he must not look back to see if she's there, I think it represents the inability to know another persona totally, and when he looks back just to see her fall again, I think it represents the fault in thinking you can save someone from their own unconcious, meaning that every person individually must learn and be reborn by their own merit. sorry for any grammar mistakes, I'm not a native english speaker if any of you disagree please leave a comment stating why.
This bar and its verse are my favourites from the album. Despite the terrific punchlines and wordplay in Eminem's "Fall" in general, there's much more to this line.
Notice the pun "Eurydice" in the title, the HMS Eurydice is a "ghost ship" that sank in 1878, and has been sighted frequently by sailors over the years since its sinking, it is said to haunt Dunnose, a cape on the Isle of Wight.
Eminem continues, "When rap needed it most, I was that wing and a prayer, a beacon (homonym: beak) of hope, put a BIRD in the air" in reference to rap as a metaphor of a sinking/dead ship that he flew out of and saved from the waters.
Took me a while to get it, a year later my mind is still blown.
I always love this encounter and think that it would be cool to add a fishing spot that always/often spawns. It could be explained as her singing attracts the fish who love to stay and listen to it. It would also give me an excuse to hang around and enjoy the peaceful respite the room provides.
