A list of puns related to "Opinion journalism"
Personally I wonder how much of the Cyberpunk drama was drummed up by journalists which caused more hate than needed resulting in the cyber security breach of employees personal information to the highest bidder from yes a hand full of directors that made the decision, but 100s of devs and their legal teams trying to fix this mess while their HR try and support them all....do they deserve this?
Let's be fair. Bigger companies have made these QA decisions for the past decade, but CDPR became the example as they were a smaller company (than EA) and seen as an easier target. And probably also not lining the game journalists pockets.
I don't know how EA havnt been called out for cultivating this perception of acceptable quality to fix later..... Everyone knows they are hugely bad for it and easily the most predatory publisher.
As an English man watching our country devolve into chaos of its own making while News corps like the BBC say nothing on the subject that many of us could see coming.... It just seems like the same story but in another setting.
Hey folks. Glad to have found this sub. You all seem like a really thoughtful and conscientious bunch! I was wondering what your thoughts on Jensen & Holes are.
I enjoy well crafted investigative journalism that highlights areas that require public awareness/advocacy and found them through their discussion of Bobby Jack Fowler, who is suspected in some of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls' cases near where I grew up. That's where my interest in true crime comes from (more from an awareness and advocacy perspective). I really like some of the work that has been done in long form by the CBC such as Missing and Murdered and Someone Knows Something, as well as some by the BBC such as Death in Ice Valley That being said, I struggle a lot finding podcasts that sit right with me and I was wondering what this community thinks about Jensen & Holes.
I know they're affiliated with the MFM creators and Crimewatch and I don't personally always agree with their opinions and solutions when it comes to things like trying to get everyone in GEDmatch etc. However, they do have salient and interesting perspectives from the criminal justice system perspective, and I am aware that they have been able to leverage their platform for success at times (such as helping identify women in Alcala's photos).
I rarely see J&H discussed in the kind of meta-commentary in the true crime community that's usually reserved for Serial, Morbid, MFM, Sword & Scale, Casefile, etc, so I was wondering if there was anything I should know as someone who is trying to be an ethical true crime and mystery listener. I have been following them so far, but that doesn't mean I'm a stan or 100% back everything about them or their personas.
Thanks for taking the time to read the post!
I was thinking how for a lot of news publications, especially NYTIMES, a disproportionate amount of public attention can go to their opinion and op-ed sections, when controversy arises. It can be easy to forgot that most of their professional resources on a daily basis go into investigative reporting of some kind. So I thought it might be interesting to discuss which kind we read more of normally, putting aside the explanatory journalism that Vox is known for, and how it reflects our larger media diet.
Iβve always loved journalism and honestly preferring writing over the math intensiveness of comp sci. What would the chances of me getting a journalistic job be if I pursue a minor in journalism even though comp sci is my major. And Iβm not talking about βoh you could always write for TechCruch or the Verge or some other tech-journalism companyβ Iβm talking about investigative journalism and such like it doesnβt even have to deal with comp sci tech stuff.
Deciding whether to study this, paired with arts, at UNSW next year! pls give me some advice
Opinion | Laura Bassett: Without a thriving free press, the Jeffrey Epsteins of the world will simply always get away with their crimes.
