Situation:
The situation in Mandol has come to a climax. The country has officially fallen into the hands of local extremists and militia. The Western world is responding and deploying troops to the country. Some of the first troops arriving are members of the Swiss armed forces and members of the French Foreign legion alongside US and UK forces. The allied force has managed to secure the majority of the river valley with FOBs and COPs. Now allied forces are preparing for the advances into the mountains to secure the villages from the militias.
At 0700 local time allied forces around Mandol will start their advances into the mountains. This is Operation Silver Knight
Mission:
A detachment of Swiss troopers and French Foreign Legionaries will begin their planned assault around the Kajdara area and start to clear away enemy forces, secure the roadways, and remove any threats to allied forces and local security personnel.
The following are our objectives:
- Air assault to the town of Kajdara and lightly secure the area South of the river
- A squad moves South towards Gadyala
- A squad moves towards Ariesh/Paski
- Engage any insurgent forces
- Secure HVTs (dead or alive)
- Secure any caches/equipment
- IF numbers exceed the 2x squads a pair of Norwegian M113s will be provided for support

Hi, I just read like for a 3637 time "the edges of a gate way make razor seem blant" and I cant help but wonder can you kill mat with a gate way... There are three things to consider:
- mat CAN use the gateways (I think it would make more sense if he couldn't)
- anything that is made out of the one power dissolves in contact with mat
- he still would be in two places with different parts of his body
My theory is kinda crazy so I hope to see yours but it goes like that:
From 1) we know that the opening it self (not edges) is not made out of one power so it is just opening through space (or similarity in female case) it implies for me that when the wave is collapsing it changes reality to its "normal" state as an effect of edge moving back to the center. But from 2) we know that the edge would dissolve if mat was inside and my theory (more hipotessis) is that mat would prevent changing the reality to the original form, but erase the edge. In that he would create a "pure" permanent gateway with no edges (although he could still be stack if the edge closed for example on his wrist and he couldn't move his hand out) in short I predict something like splanging effect from Harry potter where subjects were not cut but in two places at once (from 3)
I would love to hear what you think
PS if it's true he could probably move his hand around the gateway to seal it to the reality in full size.

Just completed book 1 and I am so disappointed. Maybe I expected too much?
I’ve been holding reading this series for a few months as I pushed it back further down my tbr for other works and reading the premise I was very excited. It somewhat had the same idea as Dragon Heart.
Does his personality get any different? I would think that after all the hardships he went through in book 1 he would’ve been a bit more serious about his new life. He did put in a lot of work to get to a decent spot but i’m just not clicking with his personality. I just felt he was too lax most of the time even after he got scalped and could’ve died.
I also just wish the love angle didn’t exist, and after reading the premises of the other books I know it’s going to be involved too. I just don’t think it worked well or I think it could’ve worked better without. Maybe i’m just biased because I really enjoyed Dragon Heart and I was expecting more someone who was put into a shitty situation but would go on the path of getting stronger, esp after his declaration in book 1 of never being bullied again basically. I was disappointed.
