A list of puns related to "Ontario wine"
Hi r/wine ! I'm based in Ontario (mentioning that because most alcohol here is sold by the government through the LCBO). I was wondering if anyone might have experience or leads for buying older wine. I've got in my head that it'd be kinda cool to try to get some wine from my birth year (1996), however not sure the LCBO has stuff from that time period and importing seems to be a pain.
Sorry if this is a dumb question and any advice is greatly appreciated!
Iβm looking for a wine club/subscription service that does mixed cases. Iβve seen some place have monthly, and quarterly cases available. Was hoping someone has used a couple of them and could provide a review of the service.
Hey all, we're going to be in the Okanagan for a week later this summer, which will be split between hiking & wineries. Knowing we will grab a few bottles here and there, we will likely end up with a case to bring home. Any good advice for shipping it back home (vs flying with it)?
Not sure if there are some cool producers around Kelowna who might just pack & ship the final load for us.
I have been looking for a good wine box/subscription to order. But there don't seem to be a whole lot delivering in Ontario. The Living Vine- natural wine subscription looks cool. so do the Wine Align boxes.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience or suggestions on what a good wine subscription service is that delivers in Ontario
Looking for a boxed wine available in Ontario that has a relatively easy valve to remove. Wanting to use this for my own wine aswell as a camping wine bag.
So far all the boxed wines I have tried have valves that seem impossible to remove without damaging them.
I looked at one place but they only shipped to addresses in BC. And another place looked helpful but the prices were double and their selection was lousy. Ideas?
EDIT: Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I checked all of them and they either didnβt have what I needed or doubled the price of the wine and still didnβt have the other bottle I needed. But I appreciate you taking the time to respond. u/goodonesaregone65 suggested thebeerguys.ca and they were perfect for what I needed. They had all 3 bottles I was looking for at LCBO pricing with options for gift wrap and a note. As they mention, the delivery costs are steep, but considering they had everything in stock and I was running out of options and their bottle prices are fair, I didnβt mind too much.
Again, thanks for the help. Happy Holidays everyone!
I live in Ontario and work in wine sales. People here have pretty strong and polarizing opinions about Ontario wines, some love them and drink them almost exclusively (particularly Chardonnay, Pinot noir, baco noir, cab franc, and faux Bordeauxs), and others think them a mummer's wine hardly worth the price. I'm curious what wine drinkers outside the region and thus free of bias think of VQA wines from Ontario. Do you enjoy them? Do they have merit or noteworthy qualities? What shortcomings do they have in your opinion? What Ontario wines have you had? Did you even know Ontario produces wine?
