This is my first time making an album discussion thread so apologies in advance if itβs not in the usual format you guys are used to. I saw there wasnβt any official thread for this album, so I thought Iβd make one because I really wanna talk about the album.
My initial thoughts are that this is a very strong release. Itβs my favorite piece of work from them since The Flood and itβs also my favorite material with Aaron as the primary vocalist. The lyrics are great. The breakdowns are great. The songs for Sirius XM are actually pretty solid to (Obsolete is dope).
Iβd personally put this in my top 25 of the year. I would probably rank it somewhere in the high teens or low 20βs. Definitely a release I got a lot out of this year. Thanks to OM&M for releasing dope music all year long π€ Iβd give this album an 8/10. Iβd love to hear your guys thoughts now! What did you guys think of the album?

Gravedancer- Not what you're expecting the album to open with, the sounds of a sitar jumping straight into a chuggy intro. It's immediately clear everyone in the band has evolved their sound to a much heavier version of past of mice, it's wonderfully produced. The bar for the rest of the album is set very high right away. The whole time I was listening it kept getting better and better, was not expecting so many drops right off the bat, Tino's drumming is absolutely incredible on the whole album!
As We Suffocate- You get your first taste of Aaron's cleans you want for the whole album, with more chugging, more drops and the album is still getting better. The tracks they've already shown us from the album carry it from here, but they did nothing to prepare us for the rest of the album.
Taste of Regret- Already out
Mushroom Cloud- Already out
Pieces- First taste of Alan and Phil riffing! Very friendly track to all ears, I could see this being one of the songs considered for an early single from the album, very catchy, the chorus gets stuck in your head instantly.
Deceiver/Deceived- Top 5 song on the album for me, has everything I want in any bands sound or song. This is going to be one of the feel good tracks people always remember from this album, it's beautifully written from all points.
Earth & Sky- Already out
The Mountain- All I'm going to say, if you're in this sub, this might be one of your favorites on the album. One of my top 3 tracks, it's SO GOOD.
Meltdown- Keep in mind I just finished listening to what I think is going to be my favorite track on the album....NOPE. It keeps getting better, I thought these kind of albums were years behind me, officially cementing this as my favorite Of Mice album ever.
Linger- There's no way it can still be getting better right? It has to somehow disappoint me now, the album had to peak at the last song right?......NOPE. This is one of the best things I've heard in years, my favorite track from them, ever. At this point in the listening process I'm laughing hysterically because it's so good. Cannot believe there's 3 bangers in a row
How To Survive- Out already.
These are just my quick critiques, tons of replay value on the album, I'm going to listen to it until I hate it. Can't thank the band and their team enough for the experience and the work on the album. I hope you guys like it as much as I did.
Starting with Earthandsky, through their newer EPβs this year: this new era of this band SLAPS. I never got into their older stuff before and need to at some point, but I am astonished at how good of metalcore this is. Does anybody else feel this way?

"If everything is where it's supposed to be Then why does space just feel so incomplete? If everything is meant to fall into place Why am I always fighting gravity?"
Also, OM&M have been absolutely killing it with these EPs. Excited for the full release in a few days to take in all of it as a whole. I saw someone say recently that losing Austin may have been the best thing to happen to the band, and I just might agree with that. Although I loved Austin's screams, Aaron is far more well rounded and brings the best if cleans and screams possible. He's a perfect fit, especially for this updated sound with their latest nine songs.
Finally, listen to Jamie's Elsewhere if you haven't. That is all.
I need some metalcore bands more like old Of Mice & Men. I'm sure someone on here knows a lot of metalcore bands & can name something good. Basically what I like about them is how the guitar & vocals sound. In songs like stuff in The Flood, there's a riffs that use the top 2 strings & are simplistic yet to be sound really unique and hella groovy. A good example of a song like that is Ben Threw. At the same time, they have hella melodic riffs like in Let Live. The vocals are also something that I can't seem to find in other bands. Austin's vocals are high yet not too high if that makes sense. It would be great if someone could help me with this. Thanks.
3 months after releasing Timeless, OM&M are back with their second EP of this year, Bloom. How does it compare to the former EP? Are you looking forward to the last installment of OM&M's release schedule? Favourite songs?
