A list of puns related to "Nonbenzodiazepine"
The ones on the market are zopiclone (Imovane) and its isolated (S) enantiomer, eszopiclone (Lunesta), along with zolpidem (Ambien), and zaleplon (Sonata).
Zolpidem and zaleplon have quite a kick to them if you use alternate routes of administration. Most noticably IV zolpidem is a intense rush and very different from other ROA's. They have super short half lives though so you better get into bed right after taking it. Another issue I have with zolpidem and zaleplon is they are only selective for the sedative a1 benzodiazepine receptors in the brain leaving out a2 muscle relaxation in the spine and anxiety relief like true benzodiazepines.
That's where zopiclone/eszopiclone shines. It's non-selective like benzodiazepines making it feel like Valium or Xanax. Its half live is much more reasonable at 6 hours too. Downsides being it makes water have a metallic taste and some other foods too, and it lacks the rush that zolpidem and zaleplon can have if you abuse them by snorting, plugging, or shooting.
Eszopiclone is the winner being closest to traditional benzodiazepines. I want some muscle relaxation and anxiety relief along with the sedation when I try to sleep, and I have a couple hours to chill and enjoy it before I have to go to bed.
Having had experience with all three, zolpidem and zaleplon can cause one to be quite fiendish due to their kick and ultra short durations. As far as pleasure goes IV zolpidem was the best but it only lasted like 15-20 min.
Originally tried to sumbit this to r/DrugNerds but realised "no asking about personal use" was rule (which is funny considering how I see it being broken all the time there) Anyway, as the title says, I'm kinda curious if anyone here uses any z class drugs or knows of some who uses them recreationally. They obviously have great medicinal value, especially in treating debilitating orders and helping with short term insomnia.
However I'm kind of confused as to why someone want to repeatedly use them to get "high". To me they are kind of interesting as a 1 time thing, however with them acting sort of like deliriants and the euphoria being minimal. Is there really a point to repeated use? Like I'm sure some of you've read the hundreds of stories of ppl abusing ambien which to me, just seems a bit weird.
I'm curious to find out more about what nonbenzo/z-drugs might be available as research chemicals. Specifically, those which are subtype selective (like zolpidem) and function primarily as hypnotics, with low anxiolysis/muscle relaxation/anticonvulsant/tolerance producing properties.
Essentially, I'm interested in finding a hypnotic similar to zolpidem, although ideally with a longer duration of action.
Names of specific chemicals known to be available, and any safety information/personal experience with them would be much appreciated.
I'm interested in finding a hypnotic with favorable pharmacology (selectivity for a1 subunit of GABAA, like zolpidem), but with a longer duration of action and perhaps increased potency.
Eszopiclone was a dud. Zaleplon is much too short acting. Benzos such as triazolam or temazepam come with too many complications. So essentially, procurement through the medical establishment is not viable.
I know there are many other similar chemicals in existence, but am trying to learn more about their efficacy/safety/availability.
Here's a partial list copied from Wikipedia:

Tl;dr: Need something similar to zolpidem, but with longer half-life/duration of action.
Whatβs the high of nonbenzodiazepines such Lunesta like, how does it compare to Xanax? Has anyone ever combined the two? Anything you can tell me is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I took 7.5 mg and in 30 minutes I started dreaming while I was awake and walked like I was drunk. 15 mg (the highest dose) the room literally started swaying. I felt like nothing bothered me. It felt like that phase just before sleep where your thoughts become really abstract. That was with tolerance rising as well. When I got to sleep, I slept for 12 hours and had no memory of that day or the day before.
What would happen if I took 4 (double the highest dose) at once? I'm not sure if nonbenzodiazepines have this effect with others. I'm small (like, really small) so any drugs hit me harder than most.
I wouldn't say I'm addicted, per se, but I find it very hard to meditate (which is more important to me than actual sleep) recently due to anxiety and stress and I'm wondering how 30 mg would effect me. With 15 mg I noticed it felt slightly different when I was breathing.
Sometimes it's hit and miss for example I once took 10 mg and just felt slightly relaxed, but other times it hits me hard.
Anyone have any experience with any of these so-called 'Z drugs'? I've taken Ambien in the past, but I'm looking for something less hypnotic and more anxiolytic (ie good for social settings without knocking you out). I get drug tested for probation so traditional benzos are a no-go. Stuff like pagoclone and alpidem have piqued my interest. The lack of information on them is a bit discouraging, though. Anyone have any input?
Pros, Cons, likes ,dislikes?
Edit : I use them in conjecture with other drugs, alone their rather bland.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
The nurse asked the rabbit, βwhat is your blood type?β
βI am probably a type Oβ said the rabbit.
The doctor says it terminal.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes

Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub

We told her she can lean on us for support. Although, we are going to have to change her driver's license, her height is going down by a foot. I don't want to go too far out on a limb here but it better not be a hack job.

Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.
