A list of puns related to "Nicki Minaj discography"
I've always been "aware" of her (how can you not be unless you've lived under a rock for 10 years) but never really listened to her until Chun Li came out last year. I really liked that and enjoyed *most* of Queen but have only really been aware of some of her more major hits over the years.
I was reading through a Grammys thread a few minutes ago and saw someone mention her performance of "Roman Holiday" and so I went and watched it. The premise of the song and the woman's voice in the chorus was kinda weird at first but HOLY SHIT it slaps and that performance was pretty damn good. How did I never hear this song until now?
What other songs would be essential listening for someone who hasn't heard much over the years?
(Before anyone comes at me I don't hate Cardi and I've listened to Backin it up like 10 times since i discovered it 2 days ago)
Edit: Favorites so far are Pound the Alarm, Beez in the trap, Roman Holiday, Did it on em, and Only but I have a lot more to hear. The only songs I knew from her first album were Your Love and Right Thru Me from hearing them on the radio way back when. Also her Young Money songs.
TRUFFLE BUTTER DAMN. This shit's great. What does this sample? Reminds me of "Girls Like" by Tinie Tempah/Zara Larsson
for real she really wildin on ellen lmao
Like it made sense that during that time she would lean slightly into the pop realm, but she didn't lean into it, she went full throttle to the point where she risked losing her core fanbase.
I think it was calculated on her part because she knew the fate of other female rappers before her who fell off as soon as rap/r&b did in popularity, and at the time the radio was rapidly shifting to pure dance/electro pop and critics started comparing her to popstars like Gaga, Rihanna and Katy.
And then came the even crazier wigs, costumes, growling and eye-catching performances (i.e. the controversial Grammys 2012), it seems like she was aware that as a black female artist she had to work harder to garner attention and not just be seen as a feature rapper. She literally risked her whole career to keep her spot and it somehow it worked because Starships shoots up the charts every summer and a lot of what the general public remembers her for comes from this period.
Also note how much she toned everything down right before Pinkprint and went back to sounding closer to what we know of her today, it makes me wonder if all of it was just one big elaborate and clever business move in her part.
So with all said i'd like to open the discussion of whether Nicki would be as famous if she didn't use the changing pop landscape as a means of securing her spot in fame.
But Nicki sent it to the rest of the castβs kids.
Turns out, Nicki was trying to get a hold of Mia via Instagram but Miaβs [assistant] blocked her.
A mess
"Pretty much proof that liberalism will inevitably side with fascism."
"He's not a white nationalist, that's literally democrat propaganda."
"Y'all will worship any celeb that has a conservative stance huh?"
Edit: Jesus Christ this thread is attracting a lot of right-wing trolls and anti-vaxx dumbasses.
Iβve legitimately seen 5 nicki Minaj superimposed on a U.S flag flags downtown. Seen a few of them on the road too.
Is it just a fan thing or is there some other meaning? A few of the cars had Alex jones stickers.
I personally would like to hear it.
Who thinks she killed it and who thinks she ruined it.. truly

Going to preface this: I listen to a lot of pop/dance-y mix spotify playlists. I think that's probably where it first popped up maybe a couple of times, and Spotify just latched on. I don't listen to hip-hop or rap, which is what google has as the top two genres for the song.
For the past year Anaconda by Nicki Minaj has haunted me. It's not a song I ever really liked, and definitely not a song I ever went out of my way to play.
It first started out in my daily mix playlists, thrown in with a few other pop artists, some Lady Gaga, Pink etc. I would just skip it in the first few secs (I assume this doesn't count as a play?) and assume Spotify would eventually take it out of my lists. I even did the "Hide this song" thing.
But then it was appearing in all of my personalised playlists. My most listened genre this year according to my wrapped was "Metropopolis" aka indie-pop. Majority of what I listen to is what my friends call "Woah woah music" - think The Lumineers, Delta Rae, Mumford & Sons type stuff ^(^^don't ^^judge ^^me). I started going from "Ho Hey" to "Anaconda" and back to hipster barn stomp again. It was showing up in my Linkin Park Mix, Chill Mix, Happy Pop Mix, even my Carly Rae Jepson Mix.
At this point (sometime around May) I specifically went out of my way and blocked Nicki Minaj entirely and that got rid of it, problem solved right?
Well kind of. It still shows up in my blend playlists with friends - I can't see it but they can, so I still hear it if I'm hanging out with people and we chuck one of our mixed lists on. Everyone laughs because they know the song haunts me and then we skip it (I really don't like it at this point lol). And then Spotify wrapped 2021 shows up.
Apparently it's my own personal theme song, and I've played it 74 times.
Which I definitely haven't I've specifically gone out of my way to NOT listen to it, It doesn't even show up in my top 2021 playlist because I've blocked the artist! My top artist has me in the 0.5% range for CRJ, but non of her songs are even in my top 5. My friends swear they haven't been playing it on my account (Which is only logged in on my phone and pc, I've done the log out of everything thing via account management). I just can't escape it.
Has anyone else had this issue? How can I make Nicki go away? What did I do to Spotify to deserve this? Is there some way to completely forever delete a song from ever showing up on my accoun
