A list of puns related to "Ng Yen Yen"
I just finished The Last Wish. I came to appreciate Yennefer so much more - her relationship with Geralt is clearly a special one, and I'm starting to feel a sense of family with her and Ciri (though I've not met her yet). To me, this means that I'm now quite strongly Team Yen and frankly don't want an ending with Triss (nothing wrong with her). However, I romanced Triss earlier on, meaning there's no chance of ending with Yen.
I'm now Lvl 24 having just finished The Last Wish. My most recent save prior to romance Triss was pre-Novigrad, at level 7 traveling to Fyke Isle for Keira Metz.
Should I just eat it and continue on in this game or restart at the level 7 save? I realize this is pretty subjective, so maybe the better question is: what would you do?
I have about 80% of the compendium completed if that info helps in deciding your answer.
Some extra points after reading comments.
Yen being miss cast is something that a lot of people are bringing up. However I don't see this as a miss cast but a bad choice is her costume/makeup design. Look at how different Ciri is from S1 to S2. They could definitely adjust Yen to be older looking though costume and makeup choices. Furthermore, alot of what makes her seem immature is not a casting issue but rather a writing issue. If you watch Anya in interviews she seems more than capable of playing the character Yen should be, but she hasn't been given the chance. Her lack lf connection to the character (unlike Henry's knowledge) could mean she has less input on how she is portrayed more accurately.
One thing I would say is that if they swapped the appreance of age between Triss and Yen. There would be a lot less complaints about Yen as a character.
I find myself zoning out on Yennifer storylinesβ¦
Climbed from ~3800 to ~4250 today using an alchemy NG deck. The deck aims to take advantage of people trying out new decks such as Cursed Bears, NG Reveal, NG spies, Consume Monsters, Weather Monsters.
Some maybe obvious key points / tips - use the removal in the deck to control what the opponent is allowed to have on the board. Viper Witchers will hit for 9 points in this deck, enough to 1-shot Savage Bears. Serrit is here for removal, best use is for Enforcers. Yennefer is almost always used as a double scorcher, there are plenty of people trying out Skellige with Bears so lining up 2 scorches shouldn't be too diffcult and also try to play Last Wish before Scorch if you have it. Ciri Nova, or Trial or the grasses is used mostly as the R3 finisher, there are plenty or targets for Trail of the grasses and if needed, Ointment into revive a Viper Witcher R3 can provide the needed Witcher target. Mushrooms have proved to be very strong against spy NG which are plentiful with the Emhry Bug and Enforcer Buff, and also against the new Consume Monster deck that is going around with the Harpy+Forktail cards. Nauzicaa Sergeant x2 are tech cards as i've faced a good deal of weather decks around 4k.
Usurper is the leader, i found it provides usually good 15+ value and can adapt to many situations.

not sorry for the pun
So I started this playthrough with the intention of romancing Yennefer. However, her bossing me around the entire first part of the game made me choose Triss anyway as she just feels so much more lovely at that point.
Now Iβve just finished The Last Wish quest and had to watch how heartbroken Yen was when I told her the magic was gone for me.. I feel terrible but thereβs no way Iβm gonna go back in save files that far π
Anyone else whoβs had the same experience?
This incredible all powerful mage and all round boss bit*h who in fact was willing to risk her life for that baby in S1 was now a desperate pathetic woman willing to sacrifice a young girl for her powers. The arc was feeble and contradicting and i wasnβt here for it tbh.
Just recently an OP in this forum brought to my attention the existence of 120 warnings on what is not Zen and belongs to cults.
On terebess there is a brief intro by Thomas Cleary that introduces YungMing as a patriarch of Pure Land Buddhism who revitalized the study of pan-Buddhism in the Zen context and the study of Zen in the pan-Buddhism context.
Question to anybody who's put in more study than me:
What is the relation between Zen and Pure land Buddhism?
This guy is said to be a descendant of the house of Fa-Yen. After his admonitions on 120 deviations that are cultish and not Zen (examples can be found here) this follows :
>An instructive work on balancing the two basic aspects of meditation, commonly referred to as cessation and contemplation (or stopping and seeing) in the context of causative practice, and as concentration and insight (or stability and wisdom) in the context of effective realization. This is one of the most valuable guides to Zen meditation to be found among the literature of the Five Houses.
This sounds fairly different from everything I've read so far. Balancing the two basic aspects of meditation?
I go through the brief "instructive work" on Terebess and it mostly sounds in line with other Zen material...
Except... When I get to the end of it :
YungMing : >Concentration needs practice; insight needs learning. Donβt let the spiritual pedestal be dimmed at all. A massive tree grows from a tiny sprout; effective work gradually accumulated produces value and excellence. Even an ape that learns concentration is born in a heavenly realm; a little girl, with a momentβs thought, enters the door of the Way. When you can help yourself and also help others, then cause and effect are fulfilled; no one can talk of doing this without concentration and insight.
What do you think?
If you want to read the whole thing, scroll down 'till you get to Thomas Cleary' s traslation, here
(if I'm not allow to link Terebess, sorry mods, you can remove)
In season 1 it was established she was very skilled with a sword and dagger. Theres a scene where she uses close melee combat over magic in the dragon episode. So how come she didnt pick up a sword in season 2? Youd think anyone would pick up a sword to defend themselves even if they werent skilled with it, i find it hard to believe yen didnt carry a dagger with her after realizing her powers are gone.
I'm almost finished with Blood Of Elves. Listening to the audiobooks. I gotta say, I really like Yennifer. She's a badass and kinda mean but in a funny and sincere way. Ciri is kind of annoying but enduring at the same time. Really liking these books.
