A list of puns related to "Nestlé Purina PetCare"
I've read/seen that trends in pet food tend to follow trends in human food by about 5 years, and that the big companies are slower to adopt new trends than small ones.
This has happened previously with organic food, grain free food, fish-based food, "superfoods", weight loss food, raw food, and more.
I think this is the year where veganism, plant based diets and awareness of the environmental impact of meat are high enough profile (and growing) that Mars and Nestle are taking notice. I would bet money that they are already developing a plant based diet in their R&D departments, but it won't be ready for a few more years.
If this happens, it will be a huge win for vegans- these two companies control almost every mass-market brand of pet food, and they sell more pet food together than every other brand combined. Having a plant based pet food on grocery and big-box store shelves would increase accessibility by a massive amount, as that is where the majority of people still buy their dog and cat food.

Guys hello, Just got the confirmation regarding the Purina Petcare Voxbox for dogs , has anyone received this one? what can be inside it?
I'm already out of stock on at least eight SKUs of ProPlan dog food and six PurinaOne SKUs (large bags). The holes in Friskies, Fancy Feast and ProPlan Cat will be 25+ by Saturday morning. Our DC is out so it will be weeks before we'll see most of these.
I just wanted to share because we never get this kind of info from our corporate office. One of my truck drivers actually told me last week and I followed up and got some details. They probably own't reopen for a month or so.

Main Street Petcare in Joplin, MO is closing permanently January 14th. If you have pet records there, go by or call their phone number which will be active for the next month. They want to get everything necessary out to everyone, but they’re having problems reaching out. I stopped by after a rumor and that’s the info I got. They also recommend Central Petcare in Carthage to anyone looking for animal boarding.
I know it's not specifically called petcare lead but what's it like? I was told I'd be trained to move up and I'm not sure if that's something I even want because I've heard the pay isn't great qnd right now, I'm looking for a job I can actually live off of 😅 or going back to school. What's the pay like? Is it worth it to get trained at my current store and see if they promote me (we don't have a petcare lead position idk if it would become a thing, we're a small store), or should I apply at a closer store if I really want to pursue it? Is it just a glorified associate position? Or are you like an alk where you're pretty much a manager and can close on your own? If it's just a glorified sales associate position then what's the difference between associate and petcare lead? Is it just pay?? More hours?? I can't continue working here on under 30 hours, I love my job but I'm at the point where I need to be doing something else
We are expected to run the petcare department with TWO petcare associates the entire day. Ive been with petsmart for a few years and this is the worst petcare has ever been. We dont have time to do anything and I honestly feel so bad for the animals cause we are only able to do bare minimum. Yesterday we had someone open who had ONE day of training and I normally close so everything has been a nightmare. We had a guinea pig in iso with ringworm since mid December and they just got meds today because my CEL is that bad. They do nothing for the department. I feel so overwhelmed.
I know someone may have asked before but,
At what time does PC associates/CELs come in?
How long does it take for you to open (and do deep cleans)? What time do you typically finish everything?
Do you have adequate help if you need it?
Has anyone had to make changes (small or large) in how PC functions?
Anything else you can think of would be very helpful!
Just as the post says I'm looking for additional resources that I can find to be able to inform my customers which fish will do well based on typical temperament and tank size.
My mangers have told me that I should be selling fish based on the "one inch per gallon" rule and to factor in the maximum size of the fish (which luckily we have tags for) but I'm still confused by various things.
For example, is the one inch per gallon rule apply to the sum of the length of all the fish? (For example, could you have 7 one inch neon tetras and three two inch mollies in a 10 gallon tank? Or would it be better to have 10 one inch tetras)
I've been trying to use Aq Advisor to figure out stuff on the fly, but unfortunately the parameters for it seem too specific (unless I'm selling them on a starter kit I have no idea what dimensions or filtration they are using), is there a better, less specific website I can punch information into on the fly?
Also I know that filters and tanks take roughly three days until the water is of good quality for most fish...should I be advising people to come back in three days to buy fish if they are buying their first aquarium?
Thank you for everyone taking the time to read!
Idk if all petcare sinks have this but the virex machine is connected to the sink and there’s this little screw on adapter with a little knob and when you turn it, it shoots water up to the virex container so it can come out of the hose…. We lost hours 6 months ago and I’m gonna get one from Home Depot if they have it I’m tired of having people go to receiving for virex
I've been researching dog food. Purina Pro Plan seems to be recommended way more than anything else here. I was almost convinced to switch... till I realized that it was a Nestle company. (see /r/FuckNestle)
My dog has been fine on Pro Pac Ultimate for 3 years. However, she suddenly got sick for a couple days. Still not sure why - blood work is normal, nothing on x-ray, etc. (she seems fine now). I had just opened a new bag of Pro Pac - so I thought I should look for any recalls. There had been a recall earlier in the year, but I doubt this new bag would have been involved (the store I bought it from was well aware of the recall).
Anyway, I say all that because it got me researching again. My older dog was on Pro Pac going back like 8 years. Back then, most people seemed to think grain-free was important. But now, it looks like the pendulum has basically swung the other way and grains are considered good.
Considering my dogs did so well with Pro Pac Ultimate, I'm thinking I might just stick with it. I want to avoid Nestle. Trying to find an alternative is too overwhelming. I figured I'd post here to see if anyone can convince me otherwise.
Edit: To be clear, it's Nestle in particular that I avoid - I know everything is owned by large evil corporations, but the others don't seem to be quite as evil as Nestle.
Edit2: Considering the recent issues with Pro Pac, I'll be switching - possibly to Purina Pro Plan, regardless of their evil ownership. I've been feeding my older dog Purina HA for a couple years (because of medical issues related to blastomycosis), and she has survived far longer than I expected.
