A list of puns related to "Meow Mix"
Iβve been feeding my cat (nutrish) cat food and he has been perfectly fine for now obviously. A friend gave me free meow mix (dry and wet cat food) and Iβm not sure if I should feed that to my cat. Any ideas or advice? Iβve seen some mixed feelings about the brand.
Also do cats really prefer wet foods no matter what age they are???? My cat will devour 50/50 dry/wet foods but doesnβt eat all his dry food. Iβm just trying to learn how to feed my cat the proper way. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Our cat Henry is hitting middle age and weβve been trying to get him to switch food for years. We didnt realize until it was too late that meow mix is pretty awful for him, but he refuses to eat anything else.
He HATES wet food. Weβve tried mixing healthy food in with the meow mix but he picks it out or refuses to eat. He wonβt eat cooked food either like plain chicken, etc. Heβs massively picky and wont even eat dry food if its been out in his bowl for a few hours. We call him Prince Henry because of how fussy he is.
Any advise on foods that help the switch? We really dont want him to eat this junk but he will starve himself instead. Its damn frustrating because weβve bought expensive food thats gone to waste because he wont touch it.
It plays every 5-10 minutes at my store and I hate it.
I If I hear one more meow mix commercial I will loose my mind.
I guess I should stop buying fish flavored food and then she will be willing to eat that? It sucks that I have two bags of food she seemingly will never eat, I guess I have to return them. I have left out bowls of them for days but they never seem to get touched at all. I'd love any suggestions for options I could take other than giving up and returning the bags of food (and whether the fish flavor is in fact the reason she won't eat these).
Update: I returned both bags and bought two new ones of dry food (one of the same kind, blue Purina, that the shelter gave me when I adopted her, and one of chicken-flavored Kindfull) as well as two cans of Kindfull wet food. Unfortunately she doesn't seem to like this flavor of Kindfull either, but she does like the Purina, I'm guessing because it's what she was familiar with at the shelter. I opened one of the cans of wet food but she only ate a small amount of it before it dried up and I threw most of it away.
so two years ago i adopted a senior cat from my local cat shelter. they told me from jump she was addicted to meow mix and wouldnβt eat anything else. the first day i had her i bought 5+ different brands of both wet and dry food for her to try that would be better for her than meow mix but she refused to eat any of them for several days. i chalked it up to her being nervous in a new home but here we are two years later and sheβs still just as addicted to meow mix; if i set out a different food for her mixed into her meow mix sheβll take one whiff and meow for her regular meal until she gets it. when i donβt budge, sheβll refuse to eat period. i donβt want to starve her but i also donβt want her eating junk all the time. i also know a big part of a catβs diet should be wet food but she will not eat it. iβve tried adding water to her meow mix but she wonβt eat it that way either. sometimes sheβll eat tuna but i donβt want to give her too much of that. anyone have any advice?
tldr; any suggestions for a picky-eater cat who will only eat dry meow mix?
I would not buy meow mix for any cat that I didnβt want to see dead or close to death within a month. I just lost my 1.5 year old Tigger boy who now leaves his brother Roo behind and theyβve been inseparable since birth. This happened due to complications during urinary crystal removal procedures.
Last Thursday night I caught him peeing on the carpet, scooped him up put him in litter box where he stayed for about 5 mins and never ended up peeing. Took him to the vet Friday where they told me he was blocked. They put him under and put a catheter in him and drained him out and kept him over the weekend. Sunday they called us saying that he was still blocked up and they were going to have to perform emergency surgery now and empty his bladder from the inside. They found more crystals and a large pocket of sand like material inside. Monday they took the Catheter out and we were told he peed on his own, procedure went well and could be released to us Tuesday. He came home with meds and all he did Tuesday night and Wednesday was be lethargic, food made him gag, he barely drank, and hadnβt used the bathroom. Thursday morning he tries to use the bathroom 5 different times and nothing comes out, heβs hiding in corners, hovering his face over the water bowl for extended amounts of time, & laying down in his litter box. We call the vet and weβre told to bring him back in and are told heβs blocked again. They put him under for the 3rd time now in 6 short days to try to clear this blockage once and for all. They clear it but upon recovery and taking the catheter out while he was still under he went into cardiac arrest and fortunately painlessly passed on.
He had only been eating this food for 3-4 weeks tops and was a perfectly healthy kitty beforehand and I regret ever buying that bag of food instead of what I usually got. Idk what made me change but Iβll forever regret that decision.
Also had I of done one Google search, I wouldnβt have never even picked that food up off the shelf as there are many reports of this food making cats sick and killing them. My baby boy would still be here with his brother had I had never purchased that one bag of meow mix.
DO NOT BUY MEOW MIX FOR YOUR CATS. IT IS JUNK FOOD FOR CATS, ESSENTIALLY FEEDING THEM FAST FOOD EVERYDAY, APPEALING AND TASTES GOOD BUT HOLDS NO NUTRITIONAL VALUE, AND IS A VERY ASHY AND DUSTY TYPE FOOD(hence the sand they found in my tigger boy) IT ALSO HAS TITANIUM DIOXIDE(for color) WHICH IS NOT
... keep reading on reddit β‘Wondering if anyone remembers or possible has a old 90's commercial from Meow Mix that had a kid rubbing their socks on the carpet to create static and touching things to zap them. Eventually makes his way to the cat who is going on about Meow Mix and at the end the kid touches the cat and with a loud MEOW zaps the cat and all its hair exopods off.
My dad and I loved this when I was a kid and reliving the commercial would be great! Thanks!
