A list of puns related to "Naomi McDuffie"
Created by: Brian Michael Bendis, David F. Walker, and Jamal Campbell.
First Appearance: Naomi #1
Affiliated Organizations: Young Justice and S.T.A.R. Labs.
Friends/Allies: Superman, Batman, Greg and Jen McDuffie, Dee of Thanagar, Annabelle, Aunt Akira, and the members of Young Justice.
Strengths/Abilities: Flight, Energy Projection and Super Strength.
Naomi is the joint creation of Brian Michael Bendis (co-creator of Miles Morales), David F. Walker (writer behind the Luke Cage resurgence and Shaft) and one of the hottest new artists in the business in Jamal Campbell (also known for Far Sector and work on Green Arrow Rebirth) and is a celebration of their experiences with the youth of today, from Walker being "Uncle David" to Bendis' own children and Jamal Campbell being inspired by young black women he knows.
Given their history in comics, Bendis and Walker chose to bestow Naomi the surname of McDuffie in honour of legendary creator Dwayne McDuffie, who sadly passed away in 2011. Dwayne was the co-creator of Milestone Media and known famously for creating Static Shock and was a mentor to David F. Walker.
>We had been trying to come up with a last name for a while, I had thought of McDuffie, but was worried that for some reason it would be seen as self-serving in some capacity, so I didn't say anything. The last thing I wanted was a show of respect to come across as disrespectful to someone who means a lot to me. Dwayne was both a friend and a mentor to me, encouraging me at a time when I wasn't sure if I should switch careers and go into comics. Brian asked me one day, "What do you think of McDuffie?" Clearly, we had been on the same page (even though I hadn't said anything). I reached out to Dwayne's widow, Charlotte, and asked for her blessing. The rest is history.
At first glance, Naomi is an ordinary 17 year old girl living in a small town in Oregon where literally nothing happens, the adopted daughter of Greg and Jen McDuffie. One day, Superman is involved in a country-spanning battle with Mongol and they blow through Naomi's small town and cause chaos. Naomi misses the entire thing and only gets the details from various people in town.
When Superman returns to clean up (because he's Superman), Naomi catches a glimpse of him but he's g

While Naomi's doting parents - Greg and Jennifer McDuffie (Barry Watson and Mouzam Makkar) - are concerned with their daughter's strange new fainting spells, the teen's closest friends - Annabelle (Mary-Charles Jones), Nathan (Anthony Puig), Lourdes (Camila Moreno), Anthony (Will Meyers), and Jacob (Aidan Gemme) - join Naomi to help uncover who or what is behind the unexpected event that has the small military town buzzing. A bit of sleuthing leads Naomi and her friends to discover that the owners of two local businesses - Dee (Alexander Wraith) and Zumbado (Cranston Johnson) - seem to know a lot more about the incident than everyone else. Soon Naomi realizes that the mysterious event is just the beginning of a thrilling journey that will change her life and challenge her to question everything she knew to be true

So a few days ago I saw a few posts about Superman and Mongol fighting with screengrabs from Naomi and I just came across this advance supposed to be non spoiler review For Naomi (that actually may involve a big spoiler about it)
Consensus from the reviewer is the show is good and it forges it's own path for the Arrowverse.
Related to whether Tyler is the version of Superman in the show however , that's were things get interesting
Adopted as a child, Naomi McDuffie is an average, well-adjusted high schooler. She excels in school and has loving, supportive parents and a solid group of friends. The most out-of-the-ordinary thing about her is an extreme fandom for Superman (a fictional character in her world, as in ours). But when an unexplained event occurs in her hometown, Naomi finds herself possessed of bizarre abilities, and the comfortable life she thought she knew starts feeling a whole lot less so.
We know from the quick cut scenes that Superman shows up in Naomi but if he only exists in comic books in Naomi's earth , this isnt the same earth as the other Arrowverse shows , I doubt it would even be earth 2 like Stargirl.
Naomi looks set to be a multiverse show.
Which creates a lot of questions since Naomi's earth has Thanagarians.
They could have it be a version of Tyler or use Brandon Routh or anybody-else.
I love Tyler but he may be way too busy to appear too much on other shows and it seems the mystery of Superman suddenly being real will be at the centre of Naomi's story. So Superman may be more important to Naomi as a show.
I think this is probably the best creative decision this show could have made to distance itself from the pre-existing Arrowverse like Superman and Lois has done.
With Natalie crossing universes to find her father it's entirely possible we could get a multiverse crossover with this show and Naomi eventually.
I love that this show is continuing on the path created by Superman and Lois if this positive review of the shows first few episodes is anything to go by.

Supermanβs biggest fan Naomi leaps from comic book page to the small screen in a new series
TB
EISNER-WINNING comics writer Brian Michael Bendis has a knack for creating female characters that resonate with readers. From Jessica Jones to Layla Miller and Daisy Johnson, heβs got a stable of creations who leap off the page. In 2019 he added Naomi McDuffie (aka Powerhouse), a teen discovering her metahuman origins, to his list of bespoke DC heroes.
Bendisβs six-issue Naomi run (a collaboration with co-writer David F Walker and artist Jamal Campbell) caught the attention of Ava DuVernay, who developed it into the new CW series of the same name. Showrunning the season is Arrow and Sweet Tooth writer Jill Blankenship, who tells Red Alert how besotted she became with the character after reading the comics following a meeting with DuVernay.
βI got sent them on a Friday night. I was like, βIβm gonna read one and then read the rest this weekβ,β Blankenship remembers. βAnd then I read all six in a row in two hours, because I think itβs just so unique.β
Alexander Wraith plays comic character Dee.
Naomi (right) and some of her close pals hang out.
In particular, she says the contemporary setting and the art knocked her out. βBendis and Walker created these amazing characters, and the idea that I could take what theyβve done and stay true to the lineage and the legacy of the story, but be able to build out even more was just so exciting to me. We resonate with the character in so many ways. Sheβs this young, black teenager and sheβs leading her own show, and thatβs so important in so many ways. But one of the things that we loved right from the beginning, that we think makes Naomi so unique in this space, is that sheβs a Superman stan.β
Thatβs right, being an uber fan of the Man of Steel is stitched into Naomiβs high school persona. A popular girl, who can slide ably across social groups, she also runs her own Superman blog that tracks the heroβs feats.
βIt was unlike anything Iβve seen on television in that space,β Blankenship says of Naomiβs unabashed fandom. βWe just really love that, because sheβs a normal girl. When you meet her, she has a favourite character and sh

New York Giants
Out: GM Dave Gettleman, OC Freddie Kitchens (Interim)
In: GM Dave Ziegler, OC Adam Stenavich
Fans have been unhappy with Gettleman for years, and it seems like ownership is finally catching up. The Maras also seem content with holding on to former Patriots ST Coach Joe Judge as their locker room leader. If that is the case, it makes sense to bring in somebody Judge is already familiar with in Ziegler, the current Patriots' Director of Player Personnel. The 44-year-old is a Patriot through and through. He was college teammates with Nick Caserio (who he replaced following Caserio's move to Houston) and Josh McDaniels (under whom he was a scout in Denver). He has cut his teeth under Belichick, spending the last 9 years in the scouting department in New England. In his first year without the "assistant" being tagged onto his job title, Ziegler added key free agents in Kendrick Bourne, Matt Judon, and Hunter Henry. He also oversaw one of the best draft classes in recent Patriot history with Mac Jones a favorite to win ROTY on top of inspiring play from Christian Barmore and Rhamondre Stevenson.
In addition to Ziegler, Packers' OL Coach Adam Stenavich joins as the new offensive coordinator. A bit of an unknown name, Stenavich is a former NFL player that has really made the most of his coaching opportunities. With Green Bay, he has overseen a revolving door of elite late round picks at OL, from Corey Linsley to David Bakhtiari to Yosh Nijman. In 2021, the Packers have seen countless injury along the line yet still have maintained an elite unit. Prior to Green Bay, Stenavich was on Shanahan's staff in San Francisco, coaching the likes of Joe Staley, Mike McGlinchey, and Weston Richburg. While Stenavich is unproven as a playcaller, he has worked under two of the best young offensive minds in the game. On top of his promising resume, his area of expertise is one the Giants desperately need help with. Other than Andrew Thomas, the Giants' OL has been an endless pile of poop covered garbage.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Basically the title. The safeties and linebackers that the Rams have used have been consistently good and consistently gotten later in the draft. The first thing Holmes did regarding the safeties in the class last year was immediately say there were good safeties in all rounds and pour some water on the talk of taking S early. He then proceeded to not even grab a S. LB was probably our biggest need going into the year and he waited to grab Barnes in the fourth. Thats consistent with what the Rams did while Holmes was their director of college scouting.
Now a lot of that is Les Snead as he is the final say, but it's impossible to think that line of thinking hasn't rubbed off on Holmes at least a little bit. I think it further cements one of Kayvon Thibodeaux or Aiden Hutchinson at #2 over Kyle Hamilton, but even moreso, it further decreases the odds of taking safety or LB with the Rams pick or our second round pick. Maybe if Nakobe Dean or Devin Lloyd fell, but they're the only ones I really see as steals at those draft slots that would be too good to pass up.
Now the Rams have prioritized other positions, and typically the more expensive ones. DL, CB, QB, WR, OL in particular. They traded a kings ransom to move up for Goff (I'm guessing a similar move for us in 2023), traded firsts for Stafford, Jalen Ramsey and a first for Brandin Cooks. Traded for Von Miller, signed OBJ, spent a first rd pick on Aaron Donald and Greg Robinson in the trenches. Holmes has drafted Sewell and followed it up with two DT picks, clearly prioritizing the trenches and I think those other moves show where the priorities might be early.
Assuming we take edge at #2, we're looking at WR and CB as the positions that have been prioritized by the Rams that are still needs for us. Just so happens that there are a few big names in the draft at each position who'll be ripe for the picking in the 20s and top of the first.
WR: Treylon Burkes, Jameson Williams, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jahan Dotson, Drake London, David Bell just off the top of my head
CB: Derek Stingley (if injury issues or inconsistent tape post freshman year causes a slide), Sauce Gardner, Andrew Booth, Kaair Elam, Roger McCreary and Trent McDuffie
Those are 11 players, worthy of the ~25th pick and the 34th pick, are more valuable positions that have been shown to be priorities by the Rams and fill major needs. If we were to walk out of the draft with Sauce and David Bell, on top of hoping Okudah comes back

A coded character is a character that, for some reason or another, isn't allowed to exhibit certain characteristics, so the way creators get around that is by sneaking in certain details to hint at the desired characteristic. An example would be the Sidekick in Static Shock. The late writer Dwayne McDuffie stated that Richie was in fact Gay, but the creators weren't allowed to make him openly show this, so instead they implied it by making him over enthusiastically assert his heterosexuality whenever the topic of girls came up.
My example would be it took Knuckles, the Hard punching boxer character with dreadlocks, who's main musical thematic elements are Rap and Jazz, being played by Idris Elba to realise he might be a black guy.

That level of talented attrition is going to be tough to replace
I was so inspired this morning by u/inadequatepockets 's post on r/namenerds about changing Marvel Comics' old-fashioned characters name to more modern names that I decided to do the same for DC characters!
Like u/inadequatepockets I used the SSA tool for the American/English characters and tried my best to find relatively accurate names for the non-American/English names. This is by no means an exhaustive list of all the DC characters or even everyone in each group and only includes heroes, not any villains. Some of these characters aren't old and have modern names but this is just for fun if they were named in 2020. I took the years the characters first appeared according to the DC fandom wiki, found where the name ranked on the SSA list for that year and matched to the name ranked in that spot for 2020.
Check out u/inadequatepockets post here, which was so incredibly put together.

Oliver Queen >> Marshall Queen (1958; ranked #363 - Oliver is the 3rd most popular boy name in 2020 so realistically updating it to sound more "modern" would be silly)

DC Next is a collaborative fan fiction platform, where all stories take place in one continuity. On this platform we intend to share ideas, cross over our stories and build a world together.
We're dedicated to keeping this project go on for as long as possible, so if you apply, we want to know that you're intending to stick around for a bit, not vanish after a few months.
Each writer will be expected to release one issue (of minimum 2000 words) every month. We have deadlines and expect people to meet them. We also work together very closely to cross-coordinate and build our shared universe.
We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, cultures, and denominations and are committed to being a positive, inclusive, and considerate community.
We are accepting applications for all characters not currently being written, including the new Superman Jon Kent! To help you out we have listed just some of the characters available below:
Note: An asterisk (*) denotes that a character has had no prior appearances in our continuity.
If you're interesting in writing with us, we would love for you to apply at our form here. This is my Just For Fun Two Round Mock. I am not an expert like Gouge so lower your expectations. I may not give a blurb for each pick if I don't feel like it. This is Just For Fun so please be respectful with critiques in the comments.
1. Jags - Kayvon Thibodeaux EDGE Oregon
With Cam Robinson potentially leaving in FA, they could consider Neal here. But the upside of pairing Thibs with Josh Allen is too high to pass up.
2. Lions - Aidan Hutchinson EDGE Michigan
The Lions get some much needed effort getting at the passer with the local kid.
3. TRADE: Broncos (from Texans) - Matt Corral QB Ole Miss
The Broncos trade a 2023 1st and maybe a 2nd too, not sure what it would take with the Houston Texans. They have a contender level roster in a loaded division and need to get ahead of Carolina and potential trade up candidates like WFT, Pitt, etc. to secure a QB. As for the Texans, they need to make up for the loss of capital that Bill O'Brien bled out of the organization. They have a ton of holes and can still get a top 10 player.
4. Jets - Kyle Hamilton S Notre Dame
Saleh will be salivating at the chance to scheme up a safety with as much versatility as Hamilton. They might have gone corner, and could still address it later, but their young CB's have played above expectation this season.
5. Giants - Evan Neal OT Alabama
What luck, this is a dream scenario for NY who needs serious help on the line of scrimmage.
6. Panthers - Ikem Ekwonu OT NC State
With Darnold already costing $19MM in 2022, the Panthers opt for the sensible choice and bolster a tattered offensive line rather than add another QB to the roster.
7. Giants - George Karlaftis EDGE Purdue
NY shores up the other side of the ball and adds some needed pass rush.
8. Falcons - Nakobe Dean LB Georgia
Dean's ability to attack the run and blitz the passer is an attractive option for a Falcons defense with only a handful of bright spots.
9. Texans (from Broncos) - Derek Stingley CB LSU
Texans land a potential difference maker in the secondary that they may have taken at 3 overall anyway. Add in some 2023 picks and you can't beat it.
10. Jets - David Ojabo EDGE Michigan
Five pass rushers in the Top 10 seems crazy, but with so many teams either not in a position or not in need of a QB, the edge class dries up quick. Ojabo is unpolished but Saleh should be able to develop and extract his potential as good or even better than just about an
My first mock draft of the season - with trades. Two rounds, with blurbs for each pick in the first.
Draft order from Tankathon.
JAX (1.01) - Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon
The Jags go for the most talented edge in the class, with interest on Hutchinson cooling slightly after being largely shut down in the Orange Bowl against Georgia. Kayvon has an insane ceiling due to his physical tools, and Jacksonville will be salivating at Kayvon and Josh Allen coming off the edges and terrorising quarterbacks for years to come
DET (1.02) - Aiden Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan
Hutchinson has had an incredibly dominant season in his senior year, and the Lions just go best player available, after deciding to give Jarrod Goff another year as starting quarterback. The senior has dominated most of the defences he's played this year, and will be a asset and cornerstonein the Lions defence.
HOU (1.03) - Evan Neal
Houston decide to give Davis Mills another year starting after showing some promise down the stretch, and shore up protection around him by drafting Neal, and absolute monster who can play anywhere on the line. Neal will be a day 1 starter who will shore up a weak Houston o-line.
NYJ (1.04) - Derek Stingley Jr, CB, LSU
The Jets find themselves in a tough spot. The lack of promising QB's means it's hard to find a suitor to trade down, which would be the ideal option at this spot. The Jets end up picking Stingley a lot earlier than they would have liked. Ikem Okwonu provides an intriguing option, but the Jets opt to continue with the promising George Fant and talented Mekhi Becton at the tackles. Stingley has all the physical tools, but has been inconsistent after a standout freshman year, and will likely improve his stock after a stand-out combine. The Jets hope he can be a worthy investment and become a star outside cornerback.
NYG (1.05) - Ikem Okwonu, OT, NC State
In Andrew Thomas, the Giants have a nice, long term piece in the trenches. That, however, is where the positives end for New York's offensive line. The whole rest of the line has major question marks, and none of them really have deserved their spot. The Giants take the dynamic Okwonu to play opposite Thomas at Tackle, providing a solid pair to protect Jones for likely his last shot at taking the starting job.
CAR (1.06) - Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State
Carolina also opt to improve their dreadful offensive line, with the strong tackle out of Mississippi State. With one of the
... keep reading on reddit β‘1 Jacksonville Jaguars (Evan Neal OT, Alabama)
Jaguars could go with either EDGE or OL in this first spot, one of them protects the most important part of their franchise, the other does not. I love Thibs and think he will be a very good player wherever he lands but making sure Lawrence doesnβt go the luck route should be the #1 priority and I think Neal is the best OT in the draft.
2Β Detroit Lions (Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon)
I originally wanted Hutch to go here. He has a high motor, works very hard, and feels like the guy for a dan Campbell team, though I feel like Thibodeaux is a better player and will be the superstar for the lions on defense going forward. Though it would be fun to see the Michigan guy stay, he just doesn't seem as appealing as the star edge from Oregon.
3 Houston Texans (Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan)
The Texans should be absolutely jacked with this pick. They need help at nearly every position on the field and a future defensive star is exactly where you look for this pick. I understand the want to give the Texans a lineman with the projection of Ikem Ekwonu but i feel O-line is the position that the Texans need the least, especially with 2x Pro Bowler Laremy Tunsil, who they traded their franchise for a few years ago
4 Carolina PanthersΒ (Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State)TRADE1
The Panthers need OT BAD. The Panthers are currently sitting just out of range of the 2 best tackles in the draft, and with a relatively low price to go from Charles Cross to Ikem Ekwonu, who many consider to be the best OT in the draft, it is an easy decision to make and never have to make again with your starting LT for the future. And yea I get that most mocks have them going with QBs but they are sticking to Darnold this year and aren't shy about it. He gets his final shot this year before becoming CFL legend Sam Darnold.
5 New York Giants (Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State)
I wanted to go with George Karlaftis here, but after looking through some comments on the Giants sub and taking into account the team's apparent hope to stay with Danny Dimes (for now at least), They need to finally get their other tackle. Andrew Thomas has had an alright-good year (from what Iβve heard) but the rest of that line is really bad, if they plan on giving Jones the same treatment I expect the panthers to give Darnold, gotta go with the best OL available (other than Linderbaum because no center should go 5th overall). I think this is a reach but
... keep reading on reddit β‘The Season's End is approaching pretty quickly, and as teams get slowly locked into their playoff positions, the time for fixing a team's needs is already upon their offices, and they turn to the college scheme, which is about to finish their season with a championship game. So, let's do this mock, where I'll use a combination of realistic scenarios and my pick choices for teams. Let's go.
1.1 - EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux - Oregon, New York Giants (VIA Jacksonville; 2022 1.1 and 2022 Third Rounder for NYG 1.08 and 1.05)
How do you even start to fix the Jaguars? Sure you'll be able to grab Kayvon Thibodeaux here, but that doesn't help what's going on the other side of the ball, with Trevor Lawrence, your generational QB getting thrown to the dogs. You take this chance to get two top 10 picks, instead of one where you can benefit from getting your team more talent off the bat. Now for the Giants: Thibodeaux is the dream. A 3-4 Chandler Jones-like Pass Rusher that can downright dominate and redefine a defensive front. Having Ojulari, Williams, Lawrence and Thibodeaux can justify the Giants trade up, and despite Gettleman being fairly incompetent, I'm sure they can throw some money at the Guards in this market to fill up that hole. (They still have their early 2nd rounder!)
Yeah I get Giants fans won't love this one, but there's not really a lot of places you can go with this team. I'd rather take a player like Kayvon and grab a stud on OL with the early second. Worth remembering that Gates IS coming back, and they can very well get an instant starter at RG in the thirties while plugging the hole at LG in free agency. That's how much the first overall pick is worth, and it may be worth it in the long run.
UPDATE: I'd probably prefer to go Neal and Linderbaum there. Phenomenal. :D
1.2 - EDGE Aidan Hutchinson - Michigan, Detroit Lions
The Lions invested a good share of their picks last year on OL/DL, but there's a slight hole of talent that remains at the EDGE Rusher position where Hutchinson would be perfect for them. He's an in-state talented pass rusher who's a fantastic leader on defence, with some phenomenal tape that shows him demolishing the passing game of opposing teams. Having him and Okwara on the line will be reminiscent of the Ojabo-Hutch duo which was the most dominant pair in this year's college football season.
1.3 - EDGE George Karlaftis - Purdue, Houston Texans
Three pass rushers in a row. OKAY. Truth is, Tytus Howa
... keep reading on reddit β‘I saw another redditor do this, and I wanted to give my take on it.
1. JACKSONVILLE: Kayvon Thibodeaux - EDGE - Oregon
Jacksonville is such an embarrasment at this point, there are multiple ways you can go with this. But the obvious option is to go with best player first and fitting in Thibodeaux to their defense would be a good start. Kayvon is a former ESPN Top 100 player and he really showed out for the Ducks. His combination of burst off the line, using his powerful hands to throw defenders aside and his lateral mobility could pay dividends on Jacksonville's defense.
2. DETROIT: Aidan Hutchinson - EDGE - Michigan
Detroit has multiple things wrong with their team on both sides of the pigskin. I personally think they should go and bulk up the defense before they add touches to the offense. Adding Hutchinson, a very versatile, and quick for his size, 4-3 defensive end from The Mitten State. He was also a Heisman finalist which showed his true potential. Detroit should go with best player available here as well, adding to their already average defensive line.
3. HOUSTON: Evan Neal - OT - Alabama
Although Houston's O-line seems pretty sturdy, it wouldn't hurt to add some depth to it. They could also go QB here to replace Tyrod Taylor or Deshaun Watson. But I think Houston should wait it out and grab the former 5-star recruit from IMG Academy. His massive frame will fit in perfect on Houston's offensive line and he's also very dominant when it comes to run blocking.
4. NY JETS: Kyle Hamilton - S - Notre Dame
Ever since Jamal Adams left the Big Apple, the Jets secondary hasn't had that kind of success he brought. Going with the highest rated player in the draft, and a top tier safety prospect can go a long way for them. Let's face it the Jets are also in need of a lot of positions, but adding to their defensive back unit will give them a jolt of energy. Hamilton is so smooth and has such amazing range. Hamilton also has very nice hit power coming across the field. I personally think this will be a really good draft choice.
5. NY GIANTS: Ikem Ekonwu - OL - NC State
Let's face it the Giants are terrible, and their offensive line isn't helping them carry the rock. That's why they're one of the lowest in YPG, and TD's. They are also in desperate need of a young lineman to replace aging Nate Solder. This spot may be a little high for him, but Ikem Eknowu would fit in perfect with Joe Judge's offense. Ekonwu is an amazing
... keep reading on reddit β‘First Mock Draft of the season now that the first 18 picks are set. No trades, assuming the Giants stick with Joe Judge (meaning they will stay with Jones as their QB) and Rodgers stays with the Packers.
Jaguars: Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE - Jags need help pretty much everywhere besides QB. They start with someone who should be a stalwart edge rusher for the next decade.
Lions: Kenny Pickett, QB - Lions have Jared Goff at QB. QBs always rise in the draft process and as of right now, Pickett is the highest rated that I've seen so I'm giving him to them.
Texans: Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE - Davis Mills was surprisingly competent last year and with no elite QB available, they give him another year. Thib should be another Pro Bowl pass rusher.
Jets: Kyle Hamilton, S - I think the Jets will be the first inflection point of the draft. A trade down is definitely possible. They desperate need a TE, but none are remotely worth the value. They quietly have good offensive tackle play between Becton, Fant and Moses who could come back in FA. Ideally, a Jamarr Chase-level WR would be available but as of now, there isn't. Their safety room is so bad. Their starters at the end of the year were two waiver claims/UDFAs. Hamilton is a playmaker that can cause turnovers for a defense that didn't do that enough. (I KNOW it's not a good value for a safety this high but right now it makes sense)
Giants: Evan Neal, OT - As I said, projecting Jones to get one more year. The Giants need help all over their OLine but take the best OT prospect in this year's draft to get started.
Panthers: Ikem Ekwonu, OT - I have no idea what the Panthers are doing with their QB situation, but whoever it is will need help and protection. Ekwonu can be a big part of that, even if he kicks inside to guard.
Giants: George Karlaftis, EDGE - Been a while since the days of JPP and Justin Tuck. Karlaftis might go higher to a team that misses out on the top 2 edge guys and panics, but not a bad value here.
Falcons: Derek Stingley, Jr, CB - Reports seem to indicate they are sticking with Ryan for another year at QB, so they turn to address their godawful pass defense. Stingley has injury concerns, but if the medicals check out, he could be a top-end CB at the next level.
Broncos: Matt Corral, QB - Drew Lock isn't the answer, seems to be the idea coming from Denver fans. Corral can be Elway's next long-term try at QB.
Jets: Jameson Williams, WR - Corey Davis was a d
1 JAX: Kayvon Thibodeaux - EDGE*
I personally have Thibodeaux just a hair above Hutchinson which makes him pick #1 for me.
2 DET: Aidan Hutchinson - EDGE
Since Kayvon goes #1, Detroit gets the local star in Hutchinson to help out the growing defense for Detroit.
3 HOU: Ikem Ekwonu - OL
I like Ekwonu moreso over Neal here because of the better versatility to move to Guard if they choose to stay with Tunsil and Cannon at OT. Mills has proven to deserve another year at least, and protecting him is key to see his true potential.
4 NYJ: Evan Neal - OT
Could definitely go defense here with Hamilton, but I think protecting Zach Wilson is more important in this case. Neal is a pretty decent upgrade over Edoga, and getting Becton back will also help out.
5 NYG: Tyler Linderbaum - C
With both OTs going top 4, NYG takes the next best option in Tyler Linderbaum at 5 with threats of Carolina snagging him at 6.
6 CAR: Kyle Hamilton - S
Purely a BPA pick here. I think Hamilton can fit well next to Chinn in a very young defense. While OL is a massive massive need for Carolina, I can't see them reaching on any of the OL available at 6.
7 NYG: George Karlaftis - EDGE
Giants get defensive help with a freak athlete in Karlaftis. While Karlaftis might need to learn the transition from 4-3 to 3-4, I think he'll be able to be an instant contributor for the Giants.
8 ATL: David Ojabo - EDGE
The matching piece to Aidan Hutchinson, Ojabo is a no brainer pick for Atlanta here as they desperately need any and all pass rush help they can get.
9 DEN: Kenny Pickett - QB
First QB goes off the board and I believe that Pickett will be a day 1 starter and is spoiled with his choice of weapons that Denver provides.
10 NYJ: Derek Stingley Jr - CB
Stingley falls a bit more than people might think, but the Jets still get one of, if not, the best CB in the class to pair with Bryce Hall.
11 WAS: Malik Willis - QB
This is probably the biggest shock that will happen in this mock draft, but I fully believe that Willis has the highest ceiling of any QB in this draft and Washington takes a chance hoping to repeat what they had in RG3.
12 MIN: Andrew Booth Jr - CB
CB is a massive need for Minnesota with them shipping off an old Pat Pete and holding Dantzler as their #1 option outside of him.
13 CLE: Garrett Wilson - WR
I think it's a no brainer on the position but people will definitely have different options on who their #1
... keep reading on reddit β‘The Jaguars could utilize this pick to improve their offensive line with the likes of either Neal or Ekwonu, but with the likes of Hutchinson and Thibodeaux being the top prospects of this year's draft, it's a no-brainer to draft the best player available. Thibodeaux's agility will pair greatly with a Jaguars defense consisting of Josh Allen and company.
The hometown hero returns home once again. Despite the abysmal record, first-year head coach, Dan Campbell displayed his leadership, showing that the Lions have the potential to become a force to reckon with in the future. The Lions improved through the trenches in last year's draft, and continue to improve upon that with Hutchinson. He will be a great addition to an already-improved Lions defensive front.
Despite having Laremy Tunsil, the Texans need to prioritize having a solid offensive line. Ekwonu has catapulted up in the rankings in the past couple of weeks or so, as he proves to be an effective pass blocker.
The Jets choose to improve their cornerback room in Stingley Jr. At 6'1", he is an mobile cornerback with the ability to generate plenty of coverage.
The Giants are in need of serious offensive help. If the record wasn't enough, take a look at the QB sneak on their own end zone during the last game of the season. Neal will help them establish an offense that can at least protect the quarterback, and hopefully provide more than the bare minimum.
Taking a quarterback may be tempting, but it's likely that the Panthers will utilize free agency to grab their next quarterback while including Christian McCaffrey in a trade package (cough cough Deshaun Watson). Being a high riser in the draft, Cross has been able to significantly reduce hits on the quarterback while maintaining an impressive stat line this past season. Cross will help a highly inconsistent Panthers offense maintain stability, no matter who is under center.
Hamilton takes a slight dip in the draft, but this is not indicative of his talent in any way. The Giants pick up an extremely solid safety that will improve a Giants defense that

Detroit Lions - EDGE Aidan Hutchinson, Michigan β Detroit is a team with many needs. In a battle between Hutchinson and Thibodeaux as the best player in the draft, the Lions go with the hometown kid.
Jacksonville Jaguars - OT Evan Neal, Alabama β While the stories of Trevor Lawrence running for his life every game are over blown, giving the new franchise QB a clean pocket to throw should be the Jaguars top priority.
Houston Texans - EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux, Oregon β A pass rusher isnβt their biggest need but the Texans canβt say no to the highly talented Thibodeaux.
New York Jets - EDGE George Karlaftis, Purdue β The Jets defense needs help at all levels. Karlaftis might be the third best at his position in the draft, but heβs still a top talent who will help the Jets get to the QB.
New York Giants - IOL Tyler Linderbaum, Iowa β The Giants donβt know if Daniel Jones is the answer because heβs rarely had a chance to throw in a clean pocket to show what he can do. Linderbaum is one step in the process of improving the O-Line.
Trade #1 New York (Giants) trades #6 to New Orleans for #13, #44, a 2023 2nd Round pick, and a 2023 4th Round pick.
New Orleans Saints - QB Matt Corral, Ole Miss β The Saints make the jump to nab the future face of the franchise for the next decade plus. Corral has improved year over year, and looks to be the top QB in this class.
New York Jets β S Kyle Hamilton, Notre Dame β I wasnβt kidding when I said the Jets defense needs help at all levels. Hamilton is a freakish athlete that will offer the Jets a lot of versatility in their coverage.
Carolina Panthers β OT Charles Cross, Mississippi State β The Panthers might have considered QB if Corral was still available. With him gone, they look to improve their O-Line in order to help protect whoever ends up taking the snaps for them.
Atlanta Falcons β CB Derek Stingley Jr., LSU β Stingley would have been a Top 3pick if it wasnβt for the fact that he missed most of this season after having surgery on his left foot. A healthy Stingley paired with Terrell would give the Falcons one of the best CB duos in the NFL.
Philadelphia Eagles β CB Andrew Booth Jr., Clemson β The Eagles are another team that needs to address every level of their defense. Booth should give them a solid CB2 to start the season, and will be someone to eventually take over for Slay at CB1.
Philadelphia Eagles β WR Garrett Wilson, Ohio State β Hurts has shown pro

ROUND 1
Just based on my personal evaluations, and team's draft needs.
DET - Aidan Hutchinson, DE, Michigan
Detroit lacks talent along the defensive line, and I think they'll go with a homegrown talent in Hutchinson, who has the big play potential of Thibodeaux without his injury concerns.
HOU - Kayvon Thibodeaux, DE, Oregon
The Texans like Davis Mills and are likely to give him one more shot, and they go BPA here with Thibodeaux. Thibodeaux is a game-changing talent at DE who can wreck opposing offenses.
JAX - Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
The Jaguars, who've had trouble keeping TLaw upright, may lose Cam Robinson in FA, who's been thoroughly average since being drafted. Neal could prove to be better at protecting Lawrence's blindside.
NYJ - Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
It's been a while since we saw a cornerback this talented. Stingley has been lights out since LSU's national championship season in his freshman year, and the Jets will try to bring back the glory days of Darrelle Revis.
NYG - Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
The Giants could go QB here to replace Daniel Jones, but I think they'll give him another shot. Hamilton is the best safety prospect of the last couple draft, and they may lose Jabrill Peppers in free agency.
NYG - Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State
Beyond defense, the Giants have had a lot of issues keeping Daniel Jones protected. Ekwonu is a rock solid prospect at tackle.
NYJ - George Karlaftis, DE, Purdue
The third of the 22 class's big name talents at edge rusher, Karlaftis will solidify a defensive line that's been excellent on the inside but had trouble doing the same along the edge.
CAR - Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss
To be clear, I think Carolina has bigger issues than QB, but after seeing Matt Rhule twiddle his QBs this past couple weeks, I don't think he has the patience to sit with Darnold/Walker/Newton for another season. Corral is the best QB prospect in this class with a proven track record in the SEC.
ATL - Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
Atlanta may go with Corral here if he's still on the board, but if not, they may fix their lack of talent/depth at WR. They've been playing Pitts outside out of necessity, not creativity. Wilson is the best WR prospect in this class, with big play potential on every snap.
PHI - Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
The Eagles snap up Wilson's running mate at OSU to really solidify their pass-catching group. Jalen Reagor is a liability, JJ Arcega Whiteside even moreso.

As the 2021 NFL regular season comes to a close this weekend, the bottom 18 picks will become locked and draft season will officially be in full force. 1. Who is QB1?
In modern draft history, the quarterback position has run the early portion of the first round. Since 2016, we have seen 23 drafted in the 1st round and one taken 1st overall in 6 out of the last 7 years.
