A list of puns related to "Naismith"
For context, he invented the game in 1891 and died in 1939. The first ever recorded official dunk was in 1944, five years after his death.
So if he sat courtside in the modern era, would it be Jordan's free throw dunk? Harden's patented quadruple step back 3s? Or how about Giannis only needing two dribbles to get from one basket to the other?
What do you think?
I'm coming from out of town to the West Virginia game. I got tickets from stubhub but couldn't get a parking pass. Is that a problem? Are there cash lots? Which ones? When I was in school I walked to the games!
Also I want to see the rules of basketball. I called the DeBruce Center and they said it's closed before and after the game, but from Allen the rules can be viewed by going down a hallway somewhere? Where is this?
One final four visit to the final four. Four Championship out of six visits to the finals.
Now coaches the Minnesota golden Gophers. Getting a nominee to the HOF. Good Luck Lindsay
The midseason tournament we all deserve. Bear with me....
-All 30 NBA teams seeded based on mid season standings.
-2 G League finalists qualify as 16 seeds.
-Rounds to be played biweekly from all star game forward.
-Low seeds host the first match of each round. If they lose they play a win or go home rubber at the high seed's arena.
-All matches played using the Elam ending
-Final Four played in rotating host cities over two nights in April in what will become the most intense celebration of the sport that's ever existed.
> Webber told The Athletic the Fab Five will be reunited at the Naismith Hall of Fame this weekend, with Rose, Howard, King and Jackson set to attend. There is mutual interest among the University of Michigan and Webber, Rose, Howard, King and Jackson to formally honor the Fab Five one day in Ann Arbor, Mich.
> In recent years, Webber said he has been offered front-office jobs and has aimed to put together an ownership group to purchase a team.
> βIβm not bitter that I havenβt won a championship,β Webber says, βbecause I still have a chance to win one.β
What an eye sore.
Going back through the last 25 winners, here's what the vast majority of them had in common:
They played for a team that was ranked in the AP preseason top 25 (the only exceptions were Toppin's Dayton team in 20, McDermott's Creighton team in 14, and Bogut's Utah team in 05). Not only were most of them ranked, 17 of them were ranked in the preseason top 10, and a crazy 15 of them in the preseason top 5.
They returned to the same team they played for the previous year after scoring more than 12.5 ppg, or were a top 5 freshman. The only exceptions to this were TJ Ford in 03, and Kenyon Martin in 2000.
We won't get the AP preseason top 25 for another couple of weeks, but I think we have a decent guess as to most of the teams that will show up on it. Given that, here's the list of 26 players who are most likely to win the award in 22 based on previous winners:
Gonzaga's Timme and Holmgren, UCLA's Juzang, Memphis's Nolley, Bates, and Duren, Texas's Jones, Illinois's Cockburn, Kansas's Agbaji and McCormick, Michigan's Dickinson, Purdue's Williams, Duke's Banchero, Ohio State's Liddell, Villanova's Moore and Gillespie, Houston's Sasser, Alabama's Shackelford and Quinerly, St Bonaventure's Lofton and Holmes, Auburn's Flannigan, Maryland's Ayala, Texas Tech's Shannon, Arkansas's Notae, and Indiana's Jackson Davis.
Some of those may not end up being ranked, but my guess is that most of them will be.

A video, the footage low-quality and obscured by clouds of dust, shows a teenage girl flailing and trying to run as the sand explodes around her, her screaming about assassins and the laughter of the cameramen audible under the pops of the fireworks buried along the beach....before it all goes to hell, glowing orange dust and black orbs materializing in the air, slamming into her surroundings like cannon fire as everything goes off. High-pitched screaming sounds out as one of the cameramen is hit, the view shifting abruptly as everyone else turns to run. The video cuts out abruptly from there. Since the video was posted, online speculation has ran with it, the name Warlock quickly catching on because of the obvious pun and how the subject of the video seemingly pulled ordinance from nowhere.
Civ: Julia's a tall and slender teenage girl, with the kind of skinny frame and pale complexion that just screams "the only exercise I do is dodging bullies", long blonde hair and gray eyes.
Cape: Warlock's aesthetic can best be described as "dollar store witch, completely strapped", with a pointy hat, black trenchcoat spray-painted with various runes and flame designs, sections of pipe tied to her back and clinking in the beltloops of her jeans, etc. A metal mask, power-made and fitted with lenses, covers her eyes and nose.
Genuinely believes that her powers are magic, and that she's some kind of novice pyromancer. The type of person who will spout conspiracy theories, wholly believing most of them, delusional, highly paranoid, and completely confident in her version of events being the correct one. Bitter about the events surrounding her trigger event and how she's normally treated by those around her, often lashing out in defiance as a consequence.
Wealth Level: 3
Julia's a normal teenage girl without a job, and as such she doesn't really have any consistent income, though she has had some small amount of success anonymously selling art made using her powers. Aside from that, she has all of the normal stuff the average teenage girl could get ahold of.
A set of pipes (two small foot-long ones, one large one that could fit her whole arm through it, and one that's long and thin) she bought and spray-painted black and orange, for use with her power.
I know there are various Tolkien art books, but I was curious if anyone knows if there is one that has many of Naismithβs works. I love his artwork from the silmarillion as well as the main trilogy.
