A list of puns related to "List of players in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame"
Okay, before I start, I want to categorize these players into three categories; Locks, Looks Good, and Great Potential.
Locks consist of those players such as LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant... The players that if they retired today, are basically in for sure or are locks.
Looks Good consists of players such as Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, and Jimmy Butler. They are proven players and have had great careers up to this point, but either are still a little too young or havenβt done quite enough to make it for sure. Regardless, they will probably make the Hall Of Fame.
Finally, Good Potential consists of players such as Luka Doncic, Zion Williamson, and Trae Young. In their first few seasons theyβve been superstars, but they havenβt necessarily stacked up the wins. Itβs okay though, because they are still young and have whole careers ahead of them.
According to Basketball Reference, here are what current NBA players HOF oddsHOF odds are.
I think the formula is accurate in predicting the Locks, but as for the other two categories it is relatively shaky for me due to a lack of experience and data from other players. After all, the calculator canβt see into the future.
Anyways, this is how I would place the current NBA players who have solid HOF chances.
(All in no particular order)
Locks: LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter, Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Dwight Howard, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge, Paul George, Klay Thompson, Kawhi Leonard.
Looking Good: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jimmy Butler, Damian Lillard, Kyle Lowry, Andre Iguodala, Anthony Davis, Draymond Green, Derrick Rose, Rajon Rondo, Kemba Walker (with some winning seasons in Boston), Al Horford, DeMar DeRozan, John Wall (If he has at least two more good years).
Good Potential: Zion Williamson, Luka Doncic, Ja Morant, Devin Booker, Donovan Mitchell, Trae Young, Andre Drummond, Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Bradley Beal, Brandon Ingram, Karl-Anthony Towns, DβAngelo Russell, Jayson Tatum, Nikola Jokic.
Let me know who I forgot or what I got wrong!
Jim Thorpe is often mentioned as one of the greatest athletes of all time, and in the early 20th century, he was peerless. His accomplishments:
Intercollegiate ballroom dancing champion (1912)
Attending Carlisle Indian School, Thorpe played Harvard in 1911, pulling an 18-15 upset. Thorpe scored all of his team's points: four field goals and a touchdown.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower once played against Thorpe in college, and recalled in a later speech: "Here and there, there are some people who are supremely endowed. My memory goes back to Jim Thorpe. He never practiced in his life, and he could do anything better than any other football player I ever saw."
Thorpe entered the 1912 Summer Olympic Games in Stockholm, Sweden, and competed in Pentathlon and Decathlon. He won a Gold Medal in both. King Gustav V awarded Thorpe his medals and said "You, sir, are the greatest athlete in the world." Thorpe famously replied "Thanks, King."
Thorpe's Gold Medals were stripped by Amateur Athletic Association (AAU), who ruled Thorpe was ineligible to compete due to accepting wages as a professional baseball player. In 1982, Thorpe's medals were posthumously given back to him.
Thorpe played 52 games for six different NFL franchises before retiring at the age of 41.
As a coach, Thorpe had a 14-25-2 record overseeing various teams, including the now defunct Canton Bulldogs.
Thorpe played 289 professional baseball games. He batted a .252 average in his career with 91 runs scored and 82 RBI.
Thorpe had a brief and undocumented pro Basketball career, playing for a traveling team called "The World Famous Indians."
Thorpe was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1963, and has a full size statue in Canton, not just a bust.
Sharing this for those who may not know about Thorpe's life and accomplishments!

Larry Walker: good at baseball,
Inspired by my wife yelling at someone who said Art Monk didnβt deserve to be in the Hall-of-Fame.
As a challenge for myself, I'm going to try and predict the most likely player to be a Hall of Famer on every current MLB team, and then I'll see if the fans of each team agrees with my predictions. Disclaimer: I'm probably wrong about most of these. If you disagree with any, feel free to let me know. I'm also going by the idea of choosing the player closer to retiring over someone who's career just started if that makes any sense. Also also I'm not picking guys who are currently free agents. Not every team has a player whose at all likely to make the HoF so that's what makes this a fun challenge
Braves: Freddie Freeman
Nats: Max Scherzer
Phillies: Bryce Harper
Mets: Robinson Cano with deGrom not far behind
Marlins: Oh god I didn't think this through at all. Sandy Alcantara I guess?
Cardinals: Yadier Molina
Brewers: Christian Yelich
Cubs: Another hard one. I'd almost lean towards Jon Lester but then again I haven't looked at his stats too much.
Reds: Joey Votto
Pirates: Josh Bell I guess? Felipe was doing pretty well but decided to be a fucking idiot so he'll never have a chance (rightfully so, fuck him)
Dodgers: Clayton Kershaw
Diamondbacks: After trading away Greinke they don't really have an old great veteran, so maybe Ketel Marte?
Giants: Buster Posey
Padres: Manny Machado... I don't think you can really make a case for Ian Kinsler HOF and for Tatis it's way too early to tell
Rockies: Nolan Arenado
Yankees: Now that CC is retired I'd guess Stanton has the best shot? Could also make a case for Chapman.
Rays: This is a hard one... I guess Blake Snell?
Red Sox: Chris Sale with Mookie close behind
Blue Jays: Oh god I have absolutely no idea. Vlad has the most potential so maybe him?
Orioles: Trey Mancini
Twins: Nelson Cruz
Indians: Francisco Lindor
White Sox: I mean Moncada has a ton of potential so maybe him
Royals: Whit Merrifield or Jorge Soler
Tigers: Miguel Cabrera
Astros: Justin Verlander
Athletics: Matt Chapman
Rangers: Hard one. I don't think Andrus or Choo have a real case for the Hall but I haven't really looked at their stats at all. Maybe Lance Lynn?
Angels: I don't really know if I should pick Trout or Pujols. Pujols is a guaranteed Hall of Famer and I mean I guess Trout is too but Pujols will be there sooner. As of this moment, Pujols is more likely to end up in the HoF than Trout is... right? This one site says that they both have a [100% chance of making the HoF](https://www.thebaseballgauge.com/hof.php?tab=
