A list of puns related to "Mountain View High School (Mountain View, California)"
Hello r/IAmA! Thanks for having us! Weβre here today with Dr. Winston Vickers, mountain lion researcher and wildlife veterinarian at the University of California, Davis, and Kate Remsen, an independent documentary filmmaker. Weβll be here from 12pm to 3pm PT today (3-6 PM ET, 19-22 UT) to talk about researching and documenting California mountain lions, the threats they face and what people can do about it.
Important research has been conducted by our group at the UC Davis Wildlife Health Center and many others in the state over the last 20 years. Unfortunately, the findings have been distressing: Mountain lion movement is seriously restricted by highways, and development has fragmented the CA populations and led to inbreeding in several mountain ranges. Death rates that are primarily the result of human activity are high in some areas, and mountain lions are threatened with local extinction in multiple mountain ranges. These findings echo findings in other areas of the West where human development into wild areas is rapidly occurring, and coastal California is ground zero, where we all can learn how to reduce the serious threats these animals face.
To share the information from that research more broadly, Ms. Remsen and I developed a series of short documentary films, combined into a full-length documentary to educate people about these magnificent animals and what we researchers have collectively learned about them. The full-length film, California Mountain Lions: The Legends of California, has been viewed over a million times on YouTube!

***update - we have found a tutor and are not looking anymore, thanks so much!
I have a 9th grader who is struggling with remote learning and would like to find someone to come to my house 1 day a week and just help her stay caught up on her schoolwork. She has ADHD, anxiety and HFA, nothing too severe just having a hard time keeping on track and getting stuff done. She usually gets the material with a little bit of help so you don't have to be an expert and she is only taking basic classes right now; English, Math, and Freshman Seminar.
I work during the day and am not home to help her. My husband is home but working in his study so she is mostly on her own and loses focus big time. Your biggest chore would be to keep her on track and turning stuff in.
We live behind Mountain View high school in Loveland. The best days for her schedule would be Tuesday or Friday.
