My version of the Maya maize god Hun Hunahpu, should fit nicely in City of Olmecs.

what is with the lack of Maya gods??
What is up with that?
Like they said they want to do gods that are interesting to them, are there no Maya gods that are interesting?
They said they liked to take gods that they can have creative liberties with. The Maya gods have little info about them, they can take all the liberties with them
And with one of the datamining gods being Jumong, im scared that they are going to leave another pantheon to rot

TIL that popcorn was integral to early 16th century Aztec ceremonies. Young women would dance a popcorn dance, with popcorn garlands as thick as tassels of maize placed on their heads; and popcorn was used as a decoration for ceremonial headdresses, necklaces, and ornaments on statues of Aztec gods

The intoxication of Maya dominates the soul. Like the vain tradition of getting dowry i.e. foreign money By taking the medicine of spiritual knowledge, one gets rid of the intoxication of the soul. Then he goes on the path of devotion because he has to reach God who is his own father.

How widespread is the idea of 'vegetable' as a culinary category? Is it specifically a European idea? For example, would, say, the Maya or Aztecs have considered beans, potatoes, and maize to all be culinarily similar? [Re-Post]
I asked this question about a month ago, and it got some interest (~26 upvotes/~2 downvotes) but no responses, so I figured I'd give it another go.

Maya and the three is excellent! It's a limited series about an aztec princess trying to kill the Aztec god of death.
The character designs are next level and the action is fun! Overall it had a wonderful story and I'm looking forward to a rewatch.

Sarcophagus lid which likely belonged to Pakal (603-683 CE), a Mayan aristocrat who governed the city-state of Palenque for 68 prosperous years. The deceased is reborn, becoming one with the god Unen-K'awill - an important deity associated with maize and fertility. Chiapas, Mexico.

Maya/Hispanic Gods
As it is Hispanic heritage month I think we should discuss our gods from Hispanic/Latino roots!
Currently we have nine, with Maya being the only pantheon. The last of them was Camazotz, who was released in 2016, aka FIVE years ago.
What Maya gods would you like to see added? What about the addition of other Latin American pantheons, such as Aztec or Inca?
EDIT: Elaboration since people seem to be mixing up my words. When I say Hispanic I am referring to Spanish-speaking people and countries, which is because I was taught that's what the word referred to. I included Maya as one of those countries because the people today do speak that language, and to my knowledge, still carry on traditions from the Maya, Aztec, and other civilizations from that time period. I also understand that not every person in Latin America uses Hispanic in that way and many don't even use it at all to identify themselves, so I reworded my post to fit that. Sorry for any mixups there.

Maize/corn and the Maya/central americans
Til, that 70% of the mayan diet from bom times consisted of corn. Is it feasible that you could write an historical book of these people and not mention corn? It makes sense to me that you would mention wheat, barley, neum and other make believe crops that didn't exist right? Right?

The Mayan Pantheon: The Many Gods of the Maya
The pantheon of the Maya is a vast collection of deities who were worshipped throughout the region which, today, comprises Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Campeche, Tabasco, and Chiapas in Mexico and southward through Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador and Honduras. Not all of the gods were venerated in all of the city-states of the Maya (at least, not by the same name) but the type of god, and what that god symbolized to the people, seems to have been universally recognized.click here for more info
