A list of puns related to "Mark Speer"
Hello fellow passengers,
For any musicians out there, Iβm curious what I need to add to get close to that sexy tone Mark gets out of his guitar. I currently have a Fender Reverb Deluxe tube amp and a crybaby wah wah pedal. What else should I/ could I add to my pedalboard/setup to get close to that kind of sound??
Thank you for input,
Yes.
In search of Mark Speer's playlists on Spotify. Has he made it private?
Just a random though here as I'm playing my guitar this morning. Wonder what criteria is used by Fender Instruments to get an Artist Signature instrument put into production? I think with Khruangbins ever increasing popularity, Marks' passion when playing the guitar and the unique voice he's created on the instrument surely could be recognized with a signature series Stratocaster.
I know there's a person here that was putting together some very good looking replica models of Marks guitar, so the interest is out there. Tash Sultana, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Mike Dirnt, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, H.E.R. and so many others have had their guitars and basses replicated. Mark's Strat would fit in quite nicely.
Hey all,
If you have a Yamaha THR ii desktop Amp. I made a preset for the sound of mark Speer. I have been noodling on it for some time. I like it!

Let me know your thoughts if you try it out!
So I have some elementary understanding of Mark's tone and style, but what techniques, scales, etc. does he typically employ i.e. phyrgian scale et al.? Watching him play seems like he has a fairly straight-forward method, and sounds great.
tldr: where can a newb start to emulate Mark Speer's style?
I have an El Capistan set to have the repeats controlled by an expression pedal. I just can't get my settings to get my trails to be clear and drawn out as in this clip shown. Any help would be appreciated!

I have been learning this amazing song and I am trying to get it down as accurate as possible. In the intro i noticed Mark is almost using a technique like tremolo picking or something... the right hand is consistently picking up and down. Whenever i play the intro I usually just pick each note but I think doing this will get a different sound however I cant do it at this speed just yet. Does anybody know if there is a word for this type of technique? I have seen him do it other songs too while watching their live performances. Thanks! I will provide an example below

So this is the tone i'm looking for. I know a lot of it comes from playing near the saddle. I also know from his rig rundown that he runs dimarzio cruisers with some pickup wired in backwards in the middle. I also know that he plays with a boss distortion with distortion and tone set to zero and a wah pedal that's constantly on. I've tried recreating this on my boss gt-100 but I just can't get anything similar. I'm also looking at the dimarzio pickups from hell for my jazzmaster, do you think those would give me the proper tone?
As you might know, one of the biggest failures of the Reich in TNO was the massive amount of money dumped into Hitler's projects. After doing some digging, I have found a very rough price estimate for Hitler's plans to reconstruct Berlin in Albert Speer's Inside the Third Reich. Preparations for the massive project had begun as early as 1937, and many calculations had to be made determining the architectural stability and costs of the construction.
For scale, The size of the reconstruction was estimated by Speer's contractors to be 33 million cubic yards, which is roughly 80 times larger than the entire World Trade Center Complex. The dome of the Volkshalle would be 957 feet tall, roughly 3/4 the height of the Empire State Building and would be visible over low clouds.
As part of the 33 million cubic yard construction would be the Volkshalle, Hitler's palace, New Reich Chancellery, Secretariat Buildings, Armed Forces High Command, and the New Reichstag. The New Reichstag would be designed to hold 1200 Parliamentarians (Hitler demanded that each Representative act for 100,000 Germans. On a side note, this means the projected goal of Lebensraum would be to accelerate the European German population from 80 Million to 120 Million) The land area of Hitler's Palace would also be roughly 1/5th the land area of the Palace of Versailles Estate. (An incredible feat given that the Palace of Versailles is built 14 miles away from Paris and Hitler's Palace would be built in the center of Berlin, the buildings would be the same size but the garden of Versailles would be much bigger than Hitler's garden)
Now that the basics are out of the way, determining the Price of the construction is realistically impossible to get correct. Speer's own determination of the Costs was, in his own words, 'Almost Inconceivable'. However, this doesn't mean that the reconstruction of the City was impossible. Speer determined that the price of the hall would be 200 deutschmarks per cubic meter (35.31 cubic feet) and the other buildings would be 300 marks per cubic meter. The Volkshalle would finish construction by the 1950's assuming the project is continued throughout the War.
Without taking into consideration the costs of demolishing buildings to make room, the price of constructing foundations for such a massive building, and not considering the costs of actually furnishing the interior of the building and maintenance, **The rough cost of constructing the Volkshalle in 1950 would b

My apologies that this wonβt go quite as indepth as Yularenβs posts and is more of a general overview. If Iβve missed any trees please feel free to comment or DM me with them.
(There are some pre-release trees that were never implemented such as Speer going mad and the cut Soviet leaders which also exist in the game files but I declined to cover them as there was not loc and little to say about them, and they can already be seen in their teaser posts)
First up, the mini trees already in game that often go overlooked.
Whilst every Reichskommisariat has a focus tree (largely around the hell of administration, fighting the partisans and trying to fix things afterwards) Kaukasus deserves a special note for just the sheer horror of its civil war tree. In which Kaukasus purchases nuclear weapons from Gotenland and without hesitation will set about nuking their enemies as well as burning the oil fields and destroying everything they can of the area. The only real redeeming feature is that Iβve never seen them get far enough to actually pull of their plan.
Armenia largely possesses a generic focus tree with the exception of their politics. This has two paths, either to side with the Germans or to side (nominally) with the West and pursue complete independence. Armenia doesnβt offer a huge amount of gameplay but they can eventually double cross the Germans or just sit around depending on the path chosen.
Sarawak has exactly what youβd expect from a (relatively) obscure British colony. After the death of the British governor they can either repress native movements or declare independence. Interestingly the independent leader is the (white and British) Rajah of Sarawak, Anthony Brooke rather than a local Malay or Sarawakian leader.
Greece possesses a unique tree if they are conquered and puppeted by Italy. Under this path they will demilitarise and turn over recent conquered territories to Italy and ensure Greek loyalty

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Ok so now I've edited and expanded this setup guide to cover all Classic Vibe offsets, including Jazzmasters, Bass VI's, and Jaguars. And also somehow edited it down from 27 to 20 steps (with sub-steps)
Any ideas why i can't seem to get this whammy bar to work right? Hmm...
Though I do have several years of general lutherie (and luthiery) experience, this checklist owes a huge debt to Michael Adams, AKA "Puisheen" on YouTube. Without his generosity in sharing his offset expertise, I wouldn't be posting anywhere near this complete of a guide. Big thanks to Puisheen for helping me get my offsets playing their best. If you don't already follow him on YouTube etc, you won't regret it if you're into Fender-style offsets like the Jag/JM/VI!
I began compiling this checklist just for my own personal use, back when I got a CV Jag in August. Then just about 4 months later in early-mid December, I decided to complete it when I got a CV Bass VI! (mine looks almost exactly like the sunburst one below, although that's not my specific bass) So I thought I'd share this here for the benefit of any of my fellow Classic Vibe offset owners who might also enjoy a nice day of tinkering on their instrument.
Not my instrument (like \"not my president\" remember that?)
So when I first finished this checklist, having tailored it specifically for the CV Bass VI, I posted it in r/BassVI. But then I went over everything and made sure it's also fully applicable to the CV Jags & JM's too, so that I could crosspost in r/offset and r/squier, and make it available to even more CV offset owners. There was honestly already not much that wasn't applicable to setting up a Jag/JM, because they all use the same bridge and trem. The Jag & VI even use the same pickups, but the JM's are of course different. But the same principles are applicable, and I do specify how to adjust JM pups. And I detail all the other significant differences like string gauge & action recommendations and pickup height recommendations, all in both metric and imperial.
In the interest of not making this novel even longer than it is, I avoid going into detail on some generic steps (like truss rod relief) but I do at least link a decent video

SOLD Visconti Homo sapiens Crystal Dream with a fine nib. No flaws but has been inked so [A2] condition. I purchased this from Dromgooleβs and had it tuned and smoothed by their partner nibmeister, Kirk Speer. He did a fantastic job β itβs a true fine but the nib lays down a wet line. Truly a joy to use and this pen is beautiful. Itβs heavy for me though. $675 OBO
SOLD Franklin Christoph, Model 66 in Antique Glass with a SIG medium nib. SIG is their in-house grind with the βsmooth feel of a stub with the line variation closer to a cursive italic.β They offer a lifetime warranty. You can eyedropper the pen, or Iβll also include the converter. Condition is [B] just because Iβve had it a few years of light use. Iβve used it as an eyedropper so the threads have a bit of staining, but nothing you can see when it is inked. $90 OBO.
SOLD - Vintage Parker 51, in a gray-blue with a gold nib, Aeromatic. Purchased this allegedly fully restored at the DC pen show, but alas, it doesnβt fill properly so needs some work. The nib is akin to an extra fine when dipped. The cap is in pretty good condition but does have some dings and scratches. Hoping this can find a home and new life with someone who knows how to work on these! Iβm rating as [parts] since it doesnβt actively fill. $40 OBO.
SOLD Vintage Esterbrook. One of the J models, not sure which one. Purchased at the DC pen show and fills and works perfectly. The nib is between a medium and broad and has a great personality β kind of italic like. The body is just too small for me. The nib is marked with 2668. $25 OBO. Condition C.
All shipping is CONUS, payment through paypal. If you buy more than one, message me an offer and Iβll happily give a discount! Can ship them inked (free ink!) or after a thorough cleaning.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
Looking to try cursive italic grinds before I send in an expensive pen to get it worked on. I would like loose steel Jowo #6 M or B cursive italic from Dan Smith, Mark Bacas, Kirk Speer, etc etc. Willing to pay $50 shipped!
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
