A list of puns related to "Marineland of Florida"
Two postcards from Marineland in Florida. The one with mother and calf was postmarked in 1947, but sadly the stamp's fallen off. The card with the dolphin being fed is postmarked (and typed out on a typewriter!) 1952. If you'd like one, please comment here with which one and then PM (chat messages don't reach me) with address and name to use, thank you!
I am just curious cause I know he discussed it last year. I live very close to marineland and have been there on many occasions in the past.
Every year that stupid, repetitive, brain-dead commercial drives me one more brick up to going over the garden wall.
For the better part of the last decade the household RULE #1 is when that commercial comes one whoever is closest to the remote is obligated to hit "mute" as soon as humanly possible..hopefully in under 4 seconds. Everyone knows the drill and are equal shareholders in the benefits of not hearing this annoying commercial.
I personally hope that this is one of the businesses that are financially forced to throw in the towel as a result of all this.
Think about it those animals need food and care and when they can't turn on their cash registers this Spring-Summer ..they might be fucked.
The bio wheel stopped rotating a while ago the guy at the fish store said never to replace them. Do I rinse them in tank water? I tried doing it to one. Still not moving right the filter is brand new.
Took a trip to Niagara Falls on Sunday. I haven't been to Marineland in over 30 years, so was interested to see how little had actually changed. We got there shortly after opening, and slowly made our way around the mostly empty park. Took in a few of the flats and eventually made our way to the real reason for going, Dragon Mountain. With the recent demise of other Arrows, figured it was a good time to take this one in.
For those who don't know, Dragon Mountain is a 1983 custom Arror looper. It's a lengthy (5500 ft) terrain coaster with 2 long tunnels and 4 inversions. Best way I can sum it up is if The Beast was an Arrow looper. The ride was a walk-on for all of our rides, and we were allowed to reride. As far as the ride experience goes, it was incredibly smooth for an Arrow built 36 years ago. After the drop and 2 loops, it does a whole lot of nothing around the back area where theming was intended to go. There was recent ground clearing down where the replica Niagara Falls was intended to go, so no idea what's happening back there. My only gripe with the ride is that the block before the final tunnel was completely stopping the train, which doesn't look to always be the case judging by recent-ish POVs. The silver lining was that the full stop gave us some great hangtime in the final two inversions.
After Marineland, we went over to Clifton Hill to be dumb tourists and check out the haunts on the strip. Our review: Don't. These haunts are so bad they border on theft, particularly "The Haunted House". Each one was about 11-12 USD to get in, with NIghtmares being a couple bucks more.
The Haunted House: Took maybe 3-4 minutes to go through. Contains some animatronics, zero scare actors. Well lit the whole way through. You get dumped out a distance from the entrance in another building, unlike the rest, we suspect so you can't tell people in line to take their money and run.
Castle Dracula: Skipped because it was cash only and we didn't have any Canadian currency on us.
House of Frankenstein: Unfortunatley, while construction was complete, Frankencoaster hasn't opened yet. House was ...ok? I suspect it seemed better because of our poor experience at the previous house. I counted maybe 5 actors. Was still on the short side. Themeing was certainly better here.
Nightmares Fear Factory: The most hyped house on the strip and possibly the biggest letdown. Cashier informed us it's the scariest house in town, and we
... keep reading on reddit β‘The box says to keep them in a month until you throw them out is that what you guys do? Also how often do you rinse them off biweekly? I do weekly water changes.
Recently I bought ANOTHER heater, and it worked well for about a week, then all of a sudden it stops working again and idk what else to do. Iβve been through so many in such a short period of time. I have mine submerged sideways away from everything, a couple inches from the top. Am I doing something wrong?? Edit: I donβt take it out during a change, but the water level never gets below the heater itself.
I was given a Marineland Desktop Portrait aquarium, dimensions approximately 12x12x18. Itβs a nice little tank and I was thinking about putting plants in it with the possibility of adding Thumbnails later. I realize it might be too small though.
Does anyone have experience with this kind of tank?
Thanks!
Sorry if stupid question, The bio wheels on my Penguin powerfilters are old and at one point over the summer due to a power loss(couple days) dried out, one filter is running without them at all due to how bad they were. Can you run without the biowheels, and if so, would running without it lead to triggering a cycle if adding new fish, water change etc? Paranoid with the recent loss of the angelfish so did a water change and now two more fish have died.
