A list of puns related to "Maddy Ferguson"
Hi everyone.
It might be very well that it is not so, but I'll share it with you because I thought about this the other day and think this is fun.
My theory is that (based on my knowledge of the Twin Peaks world) Maddy Ferguson might be a Tulpa. I have watched Seasons 1, 2 and 3 and read the Secret History book and wathced FWWM. So, here it comes:
There are at least two tulpas we know of in the Series. Dougie was there to be a father to Sonny Jim and a husband to Janey E. He fulfilled his purposed and then disappeared. As far as I remember he also instructs the one armed man to make some tulpas so they can be created to suit some purposes.
In episode 8 of the third season, after the nuclear test and the appearance of the experiment alert the Fireman and Senorita Dido, they go into that other room and the image of Laura Palmer appears on a golden orb and is sent flying towards earth. This all happens way before the birth of Laura Palmer, so one could argue that she plays a certain kind of role in whatever it is that unfolds between the supernatural forces at play in the "background" throughout the story.
We go forward to the future, Laura Palmer is born and killed and fulfills her purpose (whatever that might be). However, when Laura dies she leaves a very big void behind her: Leland starts going batshit nuts, her mother also becomes a wreck of a person and the love triangle between her, James and Donna gets broken, but it is clear that there are still issues there that are not resolved just because one of them is no longer there. Also, Cooper and the TPPD carry on their investigation but for a while it keeps pointing them in the direction of Leo Johnson.
Enter Maddy Ferguson. My theory is that Laura might be a real person who was sent to Earth to fulfill a purpose as "shown" in that scene in S3:E8, but Maddy might be a Tulpa who is sent to Twin Peaks to "help" along the other characters. She is kind of a Jack of all trades. She brings back the missing link to the love triangle which creates some friction but in the end leads to the three teenagers confronting their feelings and sorting shit out. While Maddy Ferguson is there, Sarah Palmer seems to be less unstable than before Maddy's arrival. Maybe her presence helps Sarah to work through the feeling and the trauma left behind by Laura's dead. Also she ultimately helps lure out the killer, as that might be one of her purposes as well.
After the death of Laura, she just suddenly appears and helps s
... keep reading on reddit β‘I'm on a rewatch of the original series and it made me question why she wasn't mentioned in FWWM or the return. Or any dream sequences. Her fate is so similar to Laura's and she seems so significant in season 2. Any thoughts appreciated
What about her?
Am I right that she was not mentioned in the Return or the Mark Frost books at all?
I can't remember having her mentioned in season 3.
Ain't that strange? So much worries for Laura, but no one remembers Maddie just because she is not blond and was from Missoula, Montana?!
Also she was a Lynch invention so it would be strange to have her dropped by Lynch.
IF THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT SUB ITS OK JUST GO AHEAD AND DELETE THIS.
I thought it might be fun to share the dream here as it's kind of TP related..
First I was in a warehouse/old-factory-hall-looking building that was abandoned. My upstairs neighbor was with me, a 60-something lady. We were looking around and entered what looked like a changing room. We looked around and then she just left, leaving me there alone. After she was gone the lights went out and I stood there trying to find my way in the darkness. Suddenly I felt something on my shoulder and ran out of there like a bat out of hell. When I was outside I was so scared that I puked. When I asked my neighbor why she had left me there alone she said because she had seen the hand of Jesus on my shoulder.
Standing there nearby was a colleague from work. Unfortunately she got some of it on her clothes when I had puked. I felt very sorry and asked if I could do something to help. My colleague's cousin (who just happened to look exactly like her with black hair and was suddenly just there) said that we could pick up some clothes from her place which was not far away. We were on our way to the cousin's apartment or whatever it was. We entered a building and there were a lot of people. While we were in the building going towards the apartment I noticed people started watching us. Suddenly people started becoming very hostile towards us, especially towards the girls and were on the verge of attacking.
I could see a red kind of light in those people's eyes and knew instantly that they were attacking the girls (my colleague and her cousin) because they were actually Laura Palmer and Maddy Ferguson. I knew once we were in the apartment we could get the clothes and get out through the window and that'd be the end of it. Also I somehow just knew those people were not real people so it'd be fine to simply attack to protect the girls. It proved that the people were not human, because when I attacked some it took a lot of blows to get them to stay down. They didn't bleed or anything, they simply dropped to the floor. I had tried to kill one with a spoon because it was the only "weapon" I could find lying around. When I hit some kid in the eye with the spoon, he didn't bleed or flinch or anything. He just stood there taking it and the spoon left a mark on it, as if he or it was made of putty.
We didn't reach the apartment in the end because I woke up. That's it.
Am I the only one who felt worse for her than I did for Laura? Maddy was beautiful, sweet and kind (not unlike Laura has been described) and went out in what I consider the most chilling death scene of the entire series.
I wonder what you thought, when the Character of Maddy Ferguson was introduced in Twin Peaks?
I can't remember all the details about Maddy, but there has got to be something more to her. She is a "cousin" of Laura's? Is she not a Tulpa or Copy of her? Did I miss something or was it not explained?
She was "so close to Laura" she says when she was a kid. Is she a product of the lodge or is it just general TP weirdness?
First time poster here, I hope I can make a meaningful contribution to the board with my hypothesis. Got your tinfoil hats on? Let's rock:
Maddy Ferguson is Judy who is an alternate timeline (the original?) Laura Palmer.
I'll start with the reddit posts that helped me formulate this hypothesis and reference Twin Peaks where relevant.
Maddy Ferguson - Blue Rose connection: https://www.reddit.com/r/twinpeaks/comments/6n4jn0/original_run_this_maddy_ferguson_easter_egg/
On board so far? Remember how Chester Desmond told Sam that they couldn't talk about the Blue Rose? Very similar to how Phillip Jeffries approaches the topic of Judy. Both Chester and Philip are founding members of the Blue Rose Task Force, along with Gordon and Dale.
The post brings into question the legitimacy of the connection between Maddy Ferguson and the Blue Rose, but here's another picture from an important scene in FWWM: https://imgur.com/a/pSH8j
The blue rose is in the EXACT same place as Maddy Ferguson's blue flower/rose (don't know much about stitching, but I imagine it'd be very hard to stitch a blue rose that looks good on a blue robe for TV)
The 'Lynchian Metaverse' as it pertains to Judy and the film Vertigo*: https://www.reddit.com/r/twinpeaks/comments/6v31vc/s3e15_judy_was_the_clue_to_who_she_is_there_all/
Okay, this one is a bit meta, far-fetched and needs some supporting points if you're not already on-board with this theory or familiar with the odd genius that is David Lynch (and, to a more grounded extent, Mark Frost):
What does a 1944 detective movie titled 'Laura' have to do with Twin Peaks Returns besides similar genres and themes? In 1944 this happened: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_nuclear_weapon_project#October_1944_%E2%80%93_alleged_L%C3%BCneburger_Heide_atom_bomb_test
Still have those hats on? Let me try to ground this argument a little bit. What happened in 1945? This: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity_(nuclear_test)
Still here? Let's go back to the Vertigo example.
Vertigo was released in 1958, and is about a woman who seems to die and another woman who looks just like her appears and it's a case of mistaken identity and tragic love. Narratives, themes, and genre similarities aside, were there any nuclear tests done that year? Yes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1958_Soviet_nuclear_tests
Do you also remember the Arm asking, "Is it the story about the little girl who lives down the lane?" Turns out, that "The Little Girl Down the Lane" i
... keep reading on reddit β‘This is a post about some observations and thoughts I had regarding Maddy Ferguson. I was thinking about Maddy's death in Episode 14 and was wondering if any of you think Cooper, Truman, or any other character felt any degree of guilt for not catching Leland/BOB in time to save Maddy, who probably died just because she looked like Laura. Also considering that fact that the giant tells Cooper that 'it is happening again' and he realizes that someone else is going to die and there's nothing he or anyone else can do to stop it. I know the town wouldn't react to Maddy's death in the same way that they reacted to Laura's death, but I wish it had been touched upon a bit more because I believe that having to watch Leland/BOB brutally murder Maddy formed an intimate connection between her and the viewer, and this is part of the reason that I'm so fascinated with Maddy. She seemed to be such an innocent character and went to Twin Peaks to help Leland and Sarah through the death of their daughter, but ends of being murdered herself. I feel like her character/death became overlooked by everyone and she was eventually just forgotten. I haven't watched the 3rd season yet, but I'm hoping that Maddy gets mentioned, even if it's just briefly.
One of the things that I see consistently as one of the main reasons people believe the Ramseys are guilty is because of inconsistent statements that contradict each other and things that are known.
The case actually has that in common with the Maddie McCann case, where, again, many people judged guilt based on changing and contradictory statements.
However, anybody who wants to pick on one detail after another that doesn't add up from people's memories clearly have not taken a Psych 101 class where the inaccuracies of memory is discussed. I know one class where somebody ran into the class, yelled a nonsensical sentence, and then ran out. The class was then asked to write down exactly what happened, moments after it happened. Not a single person got all of the details right. It was remarkable, too, how different things could be, such as length of hair, color of shirt (bright red vs. white vs. black), and what was actually said. Interestingly, people often wrote the nonsensical sentence as something that actually made sense - their brains filled in to make it an actual sentence or thought.
Here's a good example, and a good article on the problems with relying on what people say happened:
>Twenty eyewitnesses testified before the grand jury investigating the police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. None of these accounts is fully consistent with any other. Moreover, eyewitnesses even gave accounts that do not agree with their own earlier versions. To the public and the media, these discrepancies have been startling.
>
>But psychological scientists who study human perception and memory are not surprised at all. In fact, had there been good agreement among the various witnesses, psychological scientists would have been very suspicious and speculated that something was amiss. Those of us who study eyewitness memory have long observed that these accounts are far less reliable than people β including the eyewitnesses themselves β tend to believe.

Here is an interesting passage on suggestibility:
>When someone witnesses a crime, that personβs memory of the details of the crime is very important in catching the suspect. Because memory is so fragile, witnesses can be easily (and often accidentally) misled due to the problem of s

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

Nothing, he was gladiator.
Or would that be too forward thinking?
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.

STORY STRUCTURE
The story structure for the Fillmore reboot would have parallels but cleverly smartly parody cop shows, most notably cop shows of today like CBSβs Blue Bloods, NBCβs Chicago PD, and ABCβs The Rookie (and not the baseball Disney movie of the same name); however, it would also take inspiration from action films like John Wooβs Hard Boiled, and because of magic being in Fillmore and his friend could also go on exciting adventures outside of school as a Story Arc. Some plots would be ripped from the headlines and it would also tackle as well more serious issues with policing (police brutality, justice reform, etc)
Also in the reboot there would be a massive shootout once or twice per episode inspired by John Wooβs Hard Boiled shootouts. (with both sides using laser blasters and Airsoft as opposed to real guns after all it is a Disney show.) There will also be chase scenes as well (and sometimes a combination of the two)
Also, some seasons would have a 9-13 episode story arc and a central Big Bad in each of those arcs and a TV movie saga based on Marvel Studiosβ Infinity Saga.
HOW LONG THE SERIES WOULD LAST
It would last around 3 seasons with more should the fans want more with each season being 26 episodes each
DISTRIBUTION
It would be a Disney+ exclusive and only shown in the US and US allied countries. China will have no export.
CROSSOVERS WITH OTHER DISNEY SHOWS
The shows that Fillmore would crossover with would be Wander Over Yonder, Milo Murphyβs Law, Phineas and Ferb, The 7D, Star Vs The Forces of Evil, Mighty Ducks: The Animated Series, The Owl House, Big City Greens Lilo & Stitch, Amphibia, Gravity Falls, Teamo Supremo, The Ghost and Molly McGee, Future-Worm and DuckTales (2017) as a shared universe (Think of the MCU). Elements from other Disney properties (Like K.C Undercoverβs The Other Side) would be used as well.
THE RATING
The rating would be in the TV-Y7 FV range, with lots of Airsoft/blaster gunfights and instances of brutality of students inflicted by Safety Patrollers, especially by Sasha. Language would be limited to insults (like grop, florp, etc)
THE ART STYLE
I would go for a blend of Amphibia and Ducktales 2017 art and animation style for all characters.
