A list of puns related to "Macro photography"
I've had my rebel T3 for about 10 years or so and it has been a workhorse. I only ever bought one extra lens (a 50mm fixed zoom lens) for it besides the kit lens and a telephoto that came bundled with it.
I researched the Rebel T7i and that looked like it had a good balance between usability (I'm not a pro) and functionality, whereas I feel like I could use more functionality on my T3. I liked the idea of the built in time-lapse feature. I really want a camera with a pop out screen, too since the T3 is fixed.
Ideally I'd like to stick with a DSLR so I can use my older lenses and I really like using a viewfinder vs. a screen, but I wouldn't be opposed to it.
My intended use for the macro lens would be shooting pictures using my lightbox inside, but once I get it I'm sure I'll want to run around taking pictures of anything I can. My current camera gets used for a lot of portraits (pictures of kids) in addition to the light box shooting.
So I'm looking for a little advice, and I know you guys probably get like 20 posts a day like this. I'm looking for a Camera and macro lens combo in the ~$2,500 range or under that will last another 10 years. I don't mind spending money on a nice camera, I just don't want to buy an expensive camera and not use the features that make it expensive. It doesn't need to take amazing video, because I already have a camcorder.
I look forward to your feedback and will answer any questions that may help!
I personally own the G85, which I bought for it's smaller size, IBIS and 4K video capability. It fits my needs perfectly (except for some lower-light issues).
My girlfriend wants to start out with photography herself. She is a complete beginner in terms of that. She is still trying to figure out what she wants to shoot, but so far she has been telling me she really would love to focus on nature and landscaping, but also some macroshots. The camera will only be used for photography, with no intention to do any filming.
The best examples of pictures that I could find that interest her are these:
Our budget is around 500-700. With her wanting to hike around a lot, I suppose that weight is quite a deciding factor, and maybe some decent low-light capabilities (although that might be tricky because of the crop sensor). Also, which lenses/focal lengths would be recommended for Macro and landscape photography?
Hi,
I've just ordered a Laowa 60mm 2x f2.8 to pair it with my Sony A6400 for macro photography.
From what I know, I will need a flash and some kind of diffuser.
Can anybody recommend something for a guy on a budget? :)
Thanks in advance!
To preface this I know fuck all about photography, it's for my sister who wants a good camera for her makeup blog
many of her friends told her to get a used Iphone but you know how the used market is with people trying to pawn their broken shit off to others. I'm not big on smartphones but the Mi 11T looks like a bargain in terms of specs when compared to the iphone x?
The question is how close is the Mi 11T's camera to the Iphone X's? She said that she needs good macro performance (no idea what that means) and good zoom performance.
So I enjoy macro photography a lot and I recently upgraded my camera from a Canon t7i to an EOS R. I primarily take photos of insects like butterflies using a handheld setup and they sometimes spook pretty easily. Iβve been debating on getting canons 100mm f/2.8 macro lens but it just doesnβt seem to have the reach I would want for that type of photography. Canon also has a cheaper 100-400mm lens which is more in the range Iβd want but is focusing distance going to be an issue? What type of lens would work better? Are there viable ways to extend the range on the 100mm since I canβt find a 2x (or more) magnifier.
For context I was using a tamron 70mm-300mm (macro) lens in my t7i which has a 1.6x crop factor making the lens 112mm-480mm (macro only worked at full extension). This setup was great and fit exactly what I was shooting but I canβt seem to find a similar or comparable setup for the EOS R (RF mount). Any suggestions would be so great!!
I am hoping to get some macro shots of some Lake Superior Agates I have collected, but I know nothing about photography. I bought one of those ~$40 macro lenses that fits over an iPhone, and itβs neat, but not quite good enough to get these pictures printed and framed which is my end goal. Anyone here willing to take some photos for me? I can ship my agates to you and try to include a return slip for easy returns. Just found this sub, sorry if Iβm breaking any rules.
I've got a 48mm macro reverse ring and a 50mm prime lens with a 48mm filter diameter that I was hoping to use to digitize a bunch of 35mm slides. The focal length and field of view are extremely tight; the slide takes up the whole field of view when in focus but I've notice some severe blurring around the edges which leads me to believe I need to expand the field of view a bit and crop the pictures on the computer. Thus I need to use a different lens. I have some other lenses that I can try but they have greater diameters (eg 52mm and 58mm) and won't fit on the ring. I could either get other reverse rings that fit them or add step down rings to the lenses to fit my 48mm reverse ring. I'm not sure which is the best way to go and would like your advice. The cheaper and more versatile option is the step down rings but I don't want to sacrifice quality. Your advice would be much appreciated. Cheers.

One of the options I had in mind for her was the Sony A6000, but I wondered if there are equally good or even better competitors around this prince range.
