I recently moved up north, and I'm wondering where people usually go for raid hour. I'm near the Paramus, Saddle Brook, Wood-Ridge area, but don't mind driving ~20 minutes for a good group. I've seen Van Saun, but don't know if people raid there and if they do, which gyms they start at.
I am the curator for the North Bergen Museum. Since late 1930s North Bergen has been home to White Castle. In fact it is the the White Castle located at 9271 John F. Kennedy Blvd was the ninth location opened by E.W. Ingram. Now why am I posting, well we are looking for some more information on the location and its history as it has been the longest running business in our town. What we at the museum are looking for are any of the following: information about the property purchase, evidence from/about the store opening, photos (this is a big one for us) of the location or any other information about the store or company in New Jersey from the late 1930s.
One example of something we are trying to clarify is the stores opening date. Someone claims it open in August of 1935, however a locate paper has news of the White Castle System purchasing the lot in August of 1937.
The White Castle in our town has been a major part of our resident's, both past and present, lives. The countless stories and memories that involve visits to the restaurant can be heard from anyone who has ever lived in North Bergen.
