A list of puns related to "Lonely Planet"
Could be earth, the moon, an asteroid, an exoplanet, or a long trip on a spaceship alone. Just a person (or AI, I don't care) alone for months or years in any circumstances. Could be the end of the world or a job on the moon... like the movie Moon.
I've seen movies like that but the only book I've read like it was The Martian by Andy Weir, which was fine, but I'd like stories where the only other people you follow are in flashbacks the main person is having, or nobody at all. I want a real lonely feeling.
Genre doesn't matter a whole lot but I don't like hetero romance, high fantasy, or humor much, and I really enjoy weird stories. Thanks!
How is it even possible.
When we wandered into the stars as one, we hoped to find a way, anything to allows us to move beyond the universes speed barrier; the speed of light. But alas, we did not. Our planet was dying, so we had no choice but to put ourselves into cyrosleep and wander the stars in wait of a new home.
We had done this countless times, eons passed, and we hopped from planet to planet. From system to system. Then we found something floating in the endless void. Something of⦠Interest. We were awoken and called to the bridge. The sensors of our ship discovered something, a rock, frozen solid, far from any system, and distant from any star.
We were looking at a rouge planet. I turned to the higher ups; βIs this why we were woken up? Just some rogue planet?β
The higher ups on the computer yelled back; βThe computer found something in orbit of the planet, something... From a sentient species.β The commander pointed towards a dim dot on our camera feed. βIs that?...β
βA satellite, yes.β The feed zoomed into a small craft, damaged and cracked. βThe ships Ai identified data storage unit on the device, maybe it contains something. Some data regarding a species on the rogue planet?β
We moved towards the small object that floating in space, its parts swaying around it in almost a dance, as we moved in to grab it, the satellite suddenly started to broad cast something on every radio frequency it could.
Music.
It swayed and swung dancing, the only signal in the endless void was being broadcasted by this thing. The music rose and fell in a loop of a dance, its tender sounds then, at its climax it blew and raged in a magnificent spectacle. The music burst like our planet and it flooded the ships corridors with sound that our species could only dream of. Relax, safety, freedom, and joy. In the void of space this lonely satellite of this unmoving planet provided a little light in the dark void.
Then as the spectacle died down, and suddenly stopped it started to broadcast images, countless images of plant like beings, in bloom under a star in endless green plains. In wondrous colors, and under the music, the satellite broadcasted one last thing something in a completely unknown language.
The computer spent a few hours decoding the message, before finally determining the message.
*βThus the lonely planet of earth rests back into the void, but not before showing its beauty to any that find its frozen self. This has been a wonderful waltz, a beautiful waltz inde

We've visited only four, and been fairly adjacent to two others. The Scenic Rim (inland from the Gold Coast) is pretty nice in a low-key hippie way ... and Australia (This Wide Brown Land) has very little relic volcanic stuff.
