A list of puns related to "List of lord mayors of London"
I felt a bit silly not knowing, but Iβm from Australia and weβre not used to people in giant fluffy pirate hats. So we had a brief chat as we went awalking around the moat, then I congratulated them on their appointments, and we parted ways..
We were pretty much just following what we thought everyone else was doing. We were pointed through a barricade, and directed inside the Tower of London. We followed the directions we were given. Ended up walking through the castle and going up into the White Tower, walking past King Henry VIIIβs jousting armour and various other sweet medieval relics. We came to a line of waiters, took a couple of glasses of wine. Canapes were offered. Many people were quite fancily dressed. Lord Mayor and his sherrifs rocked up then...
It was about this time we started wondering if we were in the right place. Our tickets didnβt say anything about any of this...
Turns out we had crashed a private party. By accident, in the White Tower.
Pretty rad night in the end!
Title says most of it, but: After seeing Grey's videos on the City of London and its crazy government, I became interested in the whole process. I work at Chartered Accountants' Hall (the most exciting of the livery companies as the video rightly points out), and a few months ago an email went around saying that some of our voters had left the company and they were looking for some new ones - and I put myself forward.
Now, since joining there hasn't been an election in my ward (Coleman Street), but last night was the Wardmote (annual meeting where the Alderman and Common Councillors talk about what they've been doing and voters can ask them questions). I went along and as it happens, our current Alderman is currently the Lord Mayor also! He's a chartered accountant himself hence why he's registered in my ward, and before the meeting I briefly met him and said hello (and saw his fancy hat).
The meeting was interesting and I chatted with some other voters afterwards, but anyhow I thought this was a nice fun thing that came about as a direct result of Grey's sparking my interest in something.
If you want to find new contacts in Fallen London you have come to the right place. Whether you need someone to get the constables off your back, someone to help in an investigation or just a friend to have dinner with, you're sure to find them here. If you're looking for something specific, you could just browse the information of people who have already posted and make them a contact and/or you could simply make a post of your own.

Additional information, like stats or a brief statement, if you're a PoSI, etc. would be welcome, if you like. Timezone + hours played could be helpful for those looking for someone active during the same time they are.
This post will be restarted every month, just to prevent any sort of inactive player build-up. I've also set the suggested sort to "new," which I think should make it so that the newest posts go to the top, so that should improve your chances of connecting with someone who is actively playing.
If you are specifically interested in duels to the death, consider joining the neathy Sanguine Ribbon Society.
If you have any ideas about how this might be improved, please let me know.
Just happened less than two hours ago, after I gave a 30 sec pitch in font of Fintech people. Mind blown: it is pretty relevant to describe any blockchain application. I guess this guy is into Bitcoin already.
Edit: i just googled him, he has a finance background :) : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Yarrow
