I want to frog and redo the cast on edge border with less stitches to combat curling. Is there a trick to frogging only the first section of knitting, effectively leaving a provisional cast on edge to then re-knit the border from?

What's the type of knitting called where images, designs, or patterns are created on the fabric just by using knit and purl stitches?
I keep thinking "brocade", but googling that just brings up diamond patterns! I know I've seen this style of knitting used to create much more interesting fabric than just diamonds. Am I using the wrong search terms or something? I just can't for the life of me remember what I'd seen that called.
Here's an example of the kind of thing I'm talking about
Thanks so much for your help!

My friend was thinking of buying this hat in a store and I told her I'd knit it for her instead. I thought it was rib knit, but now I feel it's brioche (still new to knitting). Can somebody please confirm what is the type of stitches here? And if there is a pattern, could you please share the link?

Been knitting for over 20 years and have never tried anything more complex than basic knit stitches. Inspired by you lot, I have created my own pattern, using a new stitch and I think I only had to restart the first (of over 500) squares about 18 times.

Hi all- first time knitting a sock and the pattern says to work half the stitches for the heel flap. Does this mean the first half of the round or the second half? Do I put the half not being knitted on a stitch holder while I work the other half? Thanks in advance!

This is my first dog sweater. The pattern calls for knitting an arm opening with scrap yarn, then later on picking up stitches above and below the scrap, remove the scrap, and BOOM you have an arm hole or live stitches. Is there any reason why this would/wouldnβt work for a human sweater? So easy!

I started learning knitting 4 days ago. I see a lot of holes in my work especially in and around the moss stitches. I tried tightening the stitches. I don't know what to do. This is 100% mercerised cotton yarn with 4mm needles. Yarn specs said 3.5-4mm Needle/hook size is good.

Learning lever knitting on circulars - can't move stitches on right needle?
Have recently been learning lever knitting (on circular needles since that is 99% of what I use). I've got the actually knitting motion down, and have no trouble scooting stitches along the left needle, but the right needle is giving me trouble. Stitches tend to bunch over my thumb and I can't scootch them down unless I let go of the needle and manually move them with my right hand.
My tension while lever knitting is currently pretty tight. Is this just be a tension issue? Or is there a trick to moving the stitches? (I've tried a few YouTube videos, but everything I've found skims over how to handle the finished stitches on the right.)
ETA: trying to add pictures in case they help, but Imgur isn't cooperating

Circular machine knitting and different stitches
So I have a question. I got my addi about a month or two ago and Iβve been making just the basic stuff. Hats scarves headbands. I havenβt even made a decent flat panel yet because I for the life of me canβt figure it out. But my question is, can you make different stitches on the addi? I saw one on YouTube where you knit two and then wrap two. And so on. But is that the only thing you can do. I saw some fair isle technique which looked cool I am gonna try that next. But is that all? Would love any recommendations. Thanks(:

First time knitting, have a question about pick up stitches
Im trying to follow along to this tutorial https://youtu.be/nGIbqqwH_5o
at around 3:10 she says that she does a bind off but to make sure to leave one loop and then removes the needle from the loop and starts the pick up stitch in a C shape. Is there any reason to leave that one loop or should i just bind that off as well and keep going ?
