A list of puns related to "List of fictional doctors"
Happy Thanksgiving to all. If you're not working today, your blood has probably deserted your brain for your belly. So I thought it was a good day to ask a light question.
I'm curious about this because of personal experience. I'm not an MD myself, but I gave birth to one (newly minted). And though I can't speak for her, I'm pretty sure that her fate was sealed from the very first season of Scrubs.
The doctor replies: "Wow nurse! That's very Organ-ized!"
This bugs me tremendously.
There are times in doctor who where the 4th wall becomes transparent and some characters seem to give little nods to the audience. Some include 11 looking at the camera dueing regeneration, missy having an audio that seems to be a crime podcast but she knows it is? And also the obvious ones where 12 talks about the bootstrap paradox and 1 wishes everyone a merry christmas.
Has any character actively realised they are in a tv show or book or other medium?
(Oddly i think the Ood might knoe because their singing seeems to be the backgeound to a lot of season 4, and they even refer to the doctor's story?)
hi, does anyone know where i can access a comprehensive master list of all doctor who books and audiobooks etc?? i want to read/listen to all of them but i donโt know how to make sure i find all of them and donโt miss any out or skip a load of of them by accident. thank you !!!
At least in the classic rock world, there is an abundance of music celebrating being a teenage boy from the perspective of older men looking back on their youth. It was schlocky sentimental music for an imagined past that may as well have been Narnia to Millennial teens. Though my memories may be inaccurate at this point, the contemporary music about being in school (or the teenage experience in general) also missed the mark: either it was too emo (negatively sentimental, as it were) or was specific to a subculture where I wasn't a member.
However, the one album that has stuck with me since then is The Ultimate Party Collection, Vol. 1 by Sick Animation. One of the older boys in the marching band loved to drive our section to and from lunch breaks blasting Mammaries and Cammarys in his Dodge minivan. Once I discovered the full album, I was hooked. It is joyfully bizarre, irreverent, and obsceneโthe exact combination of emotions that characterized my best memories from high school. Much of the lyrical content can be generated by taking x-rated tropes of teen comedy movies and then applying them in the most galaxy-brained manner to Saved by the Bell. Of course, I wouldn't have admitted to this being my favorite album while still a high schooler, but this is probably the album that has risen the most in my favorites over time. It grew from being cringy music I listened to ironically because it was funny to music I genuinely enjoy because it's hilarious.
I'm trying to pick my current favorite song, but there are too many contenders. May as well make a list of what I consider my modern best-of from this album of 58 tracks.
Just listing those titles there reminded me of how perfectly this album captured the mind of the horny 15-year-old listener. It's not music to play in polite company, but it still manages to make me smil

There is an endless slew of REAL scientists and doctors warning against the vaxxes.
I believe the virus is "real", I have noticed the group with the Covid outbreak has gone more silent.
I feel caught between the right wingers who helped the powers that be spread this lab manufactured nightmare from the start across country, "its not real", like the powers that be would spare our lives? and the fascist left wingers who want everyone to take a harmful death shot. If it was safe, I would have no issue with it.
So when they trot out the BS that the vaxxes are safe and effective, it's nonsense. Many scientists and doctors are sounding the warning cry.
Most of these links are to twitter, but you can see the scientists and doctors for yourselves who are telling the truth and warning.

Some of them are really obvious, I know. Also, if you also like to associate songs to fictional characters, I'd love to hear your ideas! :)
The dude who wrote Hyperion does this a lot. He'll say something like:
"This was a revolution on the scale of France in the 1700s, Russia in the 1900s, or Yurbalak at the end of the 23rd century. "
Honestly this trope infuriates me, but I just have no idea what people call it.

Whilst watching the Doctor Strange movie, I was wondering if the text displayed in the books was real or fictional.
Sample Image: Here
I know the book itself is obviously fictional - I'm simply wondering about the writing displayed in it - If it's a real language, or simply an art form made to look like a language.
The closest I got was potentially a form of Sanskrit (Which is mentioned in the movies), although was wondering if anyone here could verify this.

I'm looking to build a list of Childfree Professionals/Service Providers.
I'm looking for people that understand what it means to be Childfree and the impact on our lives.
r/childfree already has a list of Physicians, so I'm looking to make a list of everyone else. I will share the list once it gets started (at https://childfreewealth.com/cfpros but it is blank now). I'm happy to share with the Mods if they would prefer to post here.
Childfree Professionals/Services can enter their information at https://childfreewealth.com/cfprosurvey/ Childfree Professionals do not need to be Childfree themselves, but need to understand and appreciate what it means to be Childfree.
In particular, I'm looking for:
If you think of a professional group or service (category) that you would like listed that I did not think of, please let me know.
I was lucky that my surgeon was great right off the bat, but I know I wondered if there were any places that had a list of recommended doctors. It must be scary to go it alone, especially if youโre looking for a new doctor or a second opinion.

Does the doctor have the largest personal kill count of any fictional character? By personal I mean they actually pulled the trigger, pressed the button etc not just lead an army like say darth vader
So in fiction we have plenty of example of mass death, take the death star blowing up, planets being destroyed, massive space battles etc
But of all the characters in fiction, can you think of anyone who has killed more people, good and bad, than the doctor?
The doctor destroying his home planet killing billions, then every spaceship, planet, etc etc he has destroyed in 1500 years, does any other fictional character even come close?
This question is probably difficult to quantify but I figure lets take a stab at it. I hope this is within the rules of the subreddit - letโs say, a fight for market dominance - moneylusted if you will.
A quick google search says that the estimated Market Value of the entire list is around 23 trillion US dollars.
Which fictional company can buy them all outright according to this figure? Assume inflation doesnโt exist and that the value of the dollar is fixed to what it is now, and that they can legally do it.
R1: A corporation/company that can do it R2: An individual with the wealth to do it
Bonus Round: Can the individual or CEO (or equivalent position) you chose beat Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg in a 3v1 hand-to-hand fight if all members are bloodlusted?
Ok, the first girls are from DBZ:
The rest are from different shows

This post started out as an effort to explore the idea of Tricameral legislatures โ a legislative branch with three chambers, instead of one (Unicameral) or two (Bicameral) โ but the second half could easily be called List of Fictional Chambers of Congress because we decided to explore what that third chamber might look like.
Difficulty staying on task
Difficulty with spoken instructions
Any distraction completely derails me
Tasks take more time to finish than they should
Often understimulated. Occasionally so bored it's almost physically painful.
Easily overstimulated. It feels like sensory overload, sometimes ending in a full-on meltdown because I can't handle it.
Probably a dopamine problem: no internal reward system
I only feel good after finishing a task if there's an external reward. Unfortunately, a salary doesn't count; it has to be obvious to my lizard brain.
Hobbies consume me while doing them. It's frustrating to put them down for any length of time. I'm so starved of dopamine.
I get hyperfixations where I can't stop thinking about a new hobby or topic of interest for days or weeks at a time. I know this doesn't sound like a problem, but it can get out of hand. Sometimes way out of hand.
The hardest part of college was handling administrative tasks: keeping due dates straight, managing my schedule and routine, handling deviations from my normal routine, understanding assignment prompts, remembering to turn in assignments, etc.
I worked 72 hour weeks (12 hr. days, 6 days per week) in college to get an A's and B's average. 40 hours only got me C's and D's. I have to work twice as hard as everyone else just to be normal.
Grade school was also a challenge, but not to the same degree. There weren't as many expectations of my executive functions, so I could skate by on smarts alone. I was always the smart kid that just needed to try harder.
It takes me forever to do things because I'm so easily distracted. It sometimes takes me 3 hours to watch a 1 hour D&D game.
Reading is hard. I'll read an entire page and realize the whole thing went in one eye and out the other.
I daydream constantly. I'm doing it right now.
I hear you talking. I see your lips moving. I understand each individual word you just used. I have no idea what you just said.
Delayed sleep phase syndrome
I forget to do things all the time
Time blindness
General brain fog
"I can't focus on schoolwork, but I can focus on video games, so I can't have ADHD. I must just be lazy." --Testimonial by every kid with undiagnosed ADHD
Serious motivation issues. Forcing myself to do things takes a monumental effort. In school, I would angrily yell at myself for literal hours at a time to just do it. I never did. This was a daily occurrence.
"If you were me, you wouldn't want to do this
