A list of puns related to "List of New York Yankees seasons"
2021 Braves (88 wins compared to 92 for NYY). Won WS.
2020 Astros (29 wins compared to 33 for NYY). Made ALCS.
2019 Nationals (93 wins compared to 103 for NYY). Won WS.
2018 Brewers (96 wins compared to 100 for NYY). Made NLCS.
I hate Aaron Boone more than pretty much anyone and think he should be gone, but there is a lot of luck that goes into the postseason and the Yankees just donβt have it in recent years. Part of it could be Boone but there are teams who had shitty regular seasons who routinely make it to the LCS.

Iβm not going to be irrational and say this team sucks, fire Cashman, etc. But there are some players who are war criminals and should be thrown in prison:
-Clint Frazier: Literally the worst defensive outfielder in the league, and does nothing at the plate to make up for it.
-Miguel AndΓΊjar: One of the worst route-running outfielders in the league, and outside of his 1.5 week hot stretch he has been roughly 80-100% worse than an average hitter.
-Tyler Wade: Heβs so bad at hitting that he needs to be an absolute consistently good defender. He isnβt.
-James Taillon: His pitch repertoire is a fastball down the dick or a ball.
-Justin Wilson: I know heβs hurt but please donβt come back. Youβre not better than anyone in the bullpen rn.
-Kyle Higashioka: He didnβt really do anything wrong, but he canβt catch Gerrit anymore because Gary is much better and we canβt put Gerrit in prison because heβs actually good at baseball. Sorry Kyle.
Whatever, letβs go Yanks

I've kept track of every move the Yankees made regarding their active (26/28 man) roster from Game 1 through Game 162. I've kept track of things like injuries, DFAs, times optioned, trades, etc. So a couple things to note before the list. I grouped ANY IL stint as one category, so COVID IL is grouped with the regular IL. In terms of dates and specifics on things like injuries, I didn't keep track of those so I might not know off the top of my head who had what injuries, just that they were on the IL at some point. Anyways, this is going to be a veeeery long post so please bear with me.
First things first: the Opening Day Roster!

Wow. Looking at some of these names, it feels like they weren't even on the team this season. Wait. I only count 25 players? And there's also some names missing: where was Chapman? Britton? Voit? Andujar? Well. Here is the MASTER LIST. Every single player that was put on the 26/28 man roster at some point in the season as well as descriptions for where some players are now. Players in bold are on the current 28 man roster.
