A list of puns related to "List of Major League Baseball players from Venezuela"
Look, I know anabolic steroids and HGH had the most significant impact on performance among any drugs throughout baseball's history. But Tim Raines, who is being inducted into the HOF this year, is known to be one of the most rampant cocaine users of his era. Doc Ellis used psychedelics, but more so, alludes to the widespread use of Greenies during the era in which he played (60s and 70s) in the documentary No-No. Greats like Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Willie Stargell, etc. all were said to love Greenies, literally a performance-enhancing amphetamine. Why then, are they all allowed into Cooperstown but abusers of another substance are not? Would love for some discourse and insight from all sides on this topic. I grew up across the street from Shawon Dunston and am a diehard Giants fan, so it hurts to see Barry Bonds alienated the way he is. That being said, I'm biased and I know he was a dick to the media and many felt he deserved the harsh treatment and negative light shed on his legacy as a player. But what's not to say guys like Pudge and Piazza who have and are being inducted didn't abuse steroids or PEDs of any sort either? The "eye test" certainly makes them look as guilty as any other culprits. Anyway, let's discuss r/baseball
We talk about what it was like to be among the first free agent class, having a son in the bigs, why things don't work out with certain teams, playing in the south in the 1970s. He also told me about how Pete Rose gave him his nickname while playing for the Phillies. I hope you enjoy the show.

Welcome to r/baseball's Players of the Week feature! We have one Voter from each team, and we vote each week on the best hitting and pitching performances in both the American League and the National League. This week (August 5th through August 11th) we had 29 Votes.
Our Voters are charged with a simple question: Which MLB players had the best week in each of our four categories?
All stats are from Baseball-Reference.com's excellent Daily Game Log Finder tool.
