A list of puns related to "List of Life on Mars (British TV series) episodes"
Does anyone remember the U.S. TV series "Life on Mars"?
It was a short-lived, single-season show that aired in 2008 that I really enjoyed. It was very trippy and the recreations of 1970's New York's was really well done.
The producers knew the series wasn't getting renewed so that hastily wrote the plot ending into the last episode or two to, at least, give some finality to it.
It's a series that I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention. Ever.

Welcome to the Weekly Binge Discussion of Life on Mars episodes 5 & 6. On Thursday we will discuss episodes 7 & 8 of the drama.
Here's a little something for those who want to learn the dance to SoBangCha's Last Night just in case they are transported back to 1988 South Korea and need to stake out a night club or just for fun.
The upcoming schedule is as follows:
Date of Discussion: | Episodes being discussed |
---|---|
Sunday 21 November | 5 - 6 |
Thursday 25 November | 7 - 8 |
Sunday 28 November | 9 - 10 |

WEEKLY BINGE GUIDELINES
Anyone is welcome to join the Weekly Binge.
Every week we host two discussions (Thursday/Sunday) in which we discuss approximately three hours/three episodes of a selected drama, in total approximately 6 hours/episodes per week. We are all from different time zones so there is no need to panic about being late to the party (we do operate on KST as a standard).
Within the frame of the three episodes, you may discuss anything you can think of. Whether it is a one-off post to say you enjoyed the drama, episodic notes, essays on how good Jung Kyung Ho looks in that brown leather jacket, rants about something you thought of while watching, tips for selecting the right red nail polish for your skin tone, a list of things you'd do if you woke up in 1988 Busan, haikus or interpretive dances to Bowie's masterpiece Life On Mars, the choice is yours.
If you have previously completed the drama, or, got ahead on the binge please be courteous of those who are watching the drama for the first time. When in doubt spoiler tags are your friend.
When we get close to the end of a drama we open up nominations (third last post) for a new drama, those dramas are then voted on by the regular members of the weekly binge. If you have participated in the discussions and would like to join in the next drama's discussion please note this as a response to the nomination comment so we can invite you to join the vote. Every time we have a new restriction for the type of drama, so that we will not repeat the same type of drama over and over, and so that the Binge will be attractive for different people with different tastes.
If anyone has a list of episodes for just Sun and Moon, that be awesome. Cause otherwise, I have to scroll through the list and I'm still new to it.
So I'm working on a program to rename video files in a series, and I need to find an efficient way to get a list of episodes for a series. Most wikis that have lists also contain plot synopses, which makes it hard to copy and paste.
Also I'm not sure whether this is the right subreddit to ask this lol.
Probably between 5 and 15 years ago I saw an episode of a British mystery series - something similar to Jonathan Creek. In the episode, a large part of the plot is centred around flashbacks to children at something like a boarding school or convent school being locked in a room as part of the punishment system, with a large painting. The painting was of some kind of saint, who the children said would visit them as part of their punishment. Part of the end of the episode was the revelation that the children were being given hallucinogenics (I think LSD) on a sugar cube and that combined with the painting was causing intense hallucinations that the saint was visiting the children. There was a close up shot of a teaspoon with a sugar cube on it on a red background, with the LSD solution being dropped onto it. I have no idea if there was a subplot, and I was so convinced it was Jonathan Creek, but I've been through every episode and none of them match up.
The main plot of the show involved a group of seemingly unconnected people coming together due to some conspiracy, all of them being pursued by the government, or something like that. The very overblown colors were a distinctive feature of the visual style. I think it was on Netflix.
At the start of second (?) episode, the scene described in the title plays out in an airport seating room. The fact that the stranger is clearly a psychopath notwithstanding, his arguments actually made a lot of sense. The best thing you can do for the environment really is not having a child. I stopped watching the show on the third episode or so, but that airport scene stuck with me.
I remember it being aimmed at teenager age range so prob was on CBBC but only guessing. It was live action
The premise of the episode was that when this song was played people went criminal or something like that. it starts off with CCTV footage of someone flipping out in a CD store because of the song. At some point they are at a school assembly where they are going to listen to a band or something and the band is evil and are going to play this song but then the heros have ear plugs or something so its all good.
This is getting vague in my memory now but i think the hero's are like student spys or something like that and maybe it has something to do with the janitor being their leader.
Any help is appreciated cheers
I know there are various exceptions to this rule on the British side, old Top Gear episodes coming to mind. But for the most part the newer shows like Peaky Blinders, the Last Kingdom and Sherlock have less than 10 episodes in a season. Then think about American shows like Grey's Anatomy and 24 which can have 20-odd episodes in a season and take the better part of a year to run thru with breaks. Is it because British TV typically takes longer to make and runs longer, or is there another explanation?
UPDATE: Weβve got to get going, but thanks for all the questions! You can catch up on HAPPY! Season 2 here: https://syfy.tv/2CFtWvs
Iβm Grant Morrison and I write comic books that some you may have heard of, including The Invisibles, Batman, Doom Patrol, Animal Man, All Star Superman, and of course HAPPY!, which is now a TV series.
Iβm Patton Oswalt and I play Happy, an imaginary friend thatβs a goofy little blue unicorn. You may recognize me from my comedy specials or roles in Parks and Recreation and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., to name a few.
We canβt wait to answer all your questions before an all-new episode tonight at 10/9c on SYFY. You can catch up on the first three episodes of the season here: https://syfy.tv/2CFtWvs
Proof:
I believe its a british comedy regarding a family in a landed house (with grandma?)
Anyways the episode i remembered was where the son had a Lord if the Rings phase and wanted to go to a concert dressed as Frodo and got his dad to go as Gandalf. At the bus stop son got some Maltesers and dad crushed it with the staff. At the concert venue the son forgot his ticket, so dad stopped everyone with "You shall not pass!"
Daughter got into a chastity programme to hook up with a guy and they had a ring as a symbol? Anyways it didnt work out so when Dad got back someone (mom or grandma?) threw it to him and said "Throw this into Mount Doom for me would you?"
Anyways one of the best comedies ive seen and i would love if someone could help me find out what its called
Most countries follow US standards in making TV shows weekly or biweekly, and scheduling them on a quarterly basis, resulting in shows running in multiples of 13 episodes per season, with the exceptionsβusually referred to as "miniseries"βrunning for a random length, but only ever for one season.
British TV shows, on the other hand, have seemingly random numbers of episodes per series (season), with some series having as little as 3 or as many as 25 episodes. But, for a given show, once that show aired its first series with a given number of episodes, it keeps that number of episodes per season for its whole run.
This suggests to me that it's a decision someone made in advance, rather than anything like "however many we managed to get done this year."
So what's going on there?

These ads probably aired around 2005ish, and were about the standard 30 seconds or so long each. Each episode started with him taking a drink, doing some stunts or escaping something, and then it would end on him in another predicament. I barely remember any episodes, but I think he traveled to an island and through a forest at one point. The series seemed to just end on a cliffhanger, with him putting his hand on one of those sea mine things (the ones that explode when you let go)
