A list of puns related to "List of Daytona 500 winners"
I am Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford Fusion for Team Penske. On Sunday, I won the 57th running of the DAYTONA 500. Ask me anything!
Ed. Note: Thanks for all of the questions! -JL
The average starting position of the winner at the Daytona 500 is 9.3. DiBenedetto is starting 9th.
I was trying to explain to a friend how while it is the biggest race of the year, it's also technically the least significant because whatever happens, you still have 30 plus more races to decide the outcome. So I'm wondering how significant the Daytona 500 results really is on the final Series championship.
The winner will always score their best finish. Hamlin, Mario Andretti, and Cale Yarborough have put that number in Daytona's winner's circle 5 times. But what about other car numbers entered into the 2020 Daytona 500? There were three other best finishes of a car number this year:
Corey LaJoie, #32 finished 8th (32 starts dating back to 1959)
Brendan Gaughan, #62 finished 7th (10 starts dating back to 1961)
David Ragan, #36 finished 4th (23 starts dating back to 1959)
Cute trivia. Does it matter? Nope. But now you can put this into your back pocket and spout it off to your friends at the bar once it is deemed safe to have a drink in public again. Stay healthy everyone! This is my little project to stay sane during these weird times. I hope you're able to find something to keep your minds occupied.
Does anyone know or have a list of cars that were made in that 1/24 scale series that was put out in 2008? It seems some are extremely hard to find and in low numbers. I know of these below but were any others made? Seems like some had special finish variants as well.
***Edit: After further research, I added Petty (81), Elliott (85) & DW (89).
Thanks for any help. Feel free to provide some pros and cons. Btw, this will be my first live race. My dad used to spend a lot of time at Talladega but I've never been.
Contest Closed.
Winner, with two drivers correct and in the exact finishing positions: /u/TeresaLyn!
Winner will be announced after the race ends.
So, the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series kicks off on Sunday with the 57th running of the Daytona 500. I get the feeling there may be a few folks in here that have at least a passing interest in Nascar, so we're gonna have a simple and easy contest. All you have to do is pick who you think will win the race. Maybe it's your favorite driver, but maybe it isn't.
And since more than one person may pick the correct winner, or, conversely, no one may pick the right one, write down who you think will be in the top five (not necessarily in order), and, in the event of a tie, the person who has the most of the top 5 correct will win a prize. Be sure you have something related to our favorite driver worth around $5 in one of your wish lists.
Contest ends when the command to start engines is given on Sunday and the winner will be gifted not long after the race ends.
Oh, and so I can find your post easier, make sure to include the phrase "Boogity, boogity, boogity!"
ETA: Since Kyle Busch will not be driving tomorrow because of his injury on Saturday evening, if you picked him, his substitute will count for him. :)
So far the only driver to do one was unser jr and a 500 driver from the 50s with no effort in contacting this subreddit. I know this is a small community but it would be cool for a driver to do one. I understand trackforum scared away scheckter, pippa and paul tracy but they can't base the fanbase on them. Maybe we can all in a joint effort contact certain drivers to see if they are interested via twitter, maybe pippa or newgarden or hinch would be interested if we explain what reddit is. The only thing we could do to make sure we don't have a holes is having the mods delete any mean questions (example the guy who called out unser on being an alcoholic) so the drivers won't be offended. Nascar has embraced that subreddit and they get drivers , announcers and crew members all the time.
Iβm trying to create a list of all the noteworthy events during this off season so let me know what events you think should be included, what will be racing and the dates if you know them and Iβll edit this post to include them all! So far Iβve got:
Turkey Night (USAC Midgets): Thanksgiving Night
Australian Supercars Finale: November 23rd-25th
F1 Finale: November 25th
Gateway Dirt Nationals (Super Late Models, Modifieds, Midgets): Nov 30th-Dec 1st
Snowball Derby (Pavement Super Late Models): December 2nd
Formula E Season Opener: December 15th
Roar Before the 24: January 4th-6th
Chili Bowl (Midgets): January 14th-19th
Rolex 24 @ Daytona (IMSA): January 26th-27th
This is what i currently have for the Daytona 500 Entry List:
I donβt know what number James Davison is running but i used the 33 for him since he used that number in the Indy 500 last year. Also Bob Pockrass said he would run for an existing smaller team but with no charter.
Itβs not confirmed that Ware is in the 54, idk who will be in that car but i can see it being Cody Ware.
There could be more cars on the entry list, you never know but i currently got 44.
Dale Earnhardt, Petty, and Gordon all have memorable wins, but which race is most forgettable?
