A list of puns related to "Lisa Ortiz"
Having finished Slayers Perfect for the first time ever (after seeing trailers of it on ADV Evangelion DVDs in the early 2000s), this was my first time seeing Lina played by Megumi Hayashibara. Why I finally decided to check out subbed Slayers after seeing the TV series fully subbed since childhood?
Because watching the first few minutes of the Motion Picture in English, Lina's voice sounded so off. To the point I wasn't surprised Lisa Ortiz was replaced.
So I am curious what the fandom thinks? I wasn't that big of a SlayerS fan (the most I seen was all the TV series) but even as a casual fan-hell even as a little kid in the 90s- I already recognize Lina's English actress as so damn spoton to the character before I even knew how to judge whether acting is good or not esp by Academy Awards standards back in the 90s and 2000s.
So I assume basically everyone else agrees Lisa Ortiz is THE LINA INVERSE in English?
Honestly cannot unhear Lisa Otiz as Lina that immediately switched to Japanese (and now am considering reatching the TV series with Hayashibara after I read the Light Novels and as I finish up the movies and OVA).
More news from Anime NYC!
J-Novel Club announced that they will do an audiobook version of Hajime Kanazaka's The Slayers, narrated by the English dub voice of Lina Inverse, Lisa Ortiz.

This joins the ongoing trend of light novels and manga getting the audiobook drama treatment!
Lisa Ortiz, described as JJD's cousin by marriage, says she lived with him from 1982 until 1986. Does anyone know where? I assume Southern California since it's been reported that Joe worked as mechanic in the LA area from 1984 - 1985.
JJD and Sharon bought the house in Citrus Heights in 1980. Must have been renting it out or something.

For anyone who watched Record of Lodoss War back in the day, you'll know that the voice of Deedlit was none other than the VA legend, Lisa Ortiz. For you Slayers fans, she was also Lina Inverse.
I follow her on twitter and on a whim, sent her a message asking if she'd reprise her roll as Deedlit for the upcoming Langrisser/ROLW crossover we get later this summer (hopefully.) I didn't expect a response, but to my surprise (and delight) she did. And she's all-in. Screenshot enclosed.

Personally, I enjoy the characters in anime (back when I watched it) in large part because the VA's bring the characters to life. Anytime I see Deedlit, or Lina, in some other form of media its easy for me to hear her voice in my head speaking as that character. To me, and hopefully other ROLW fans, this would be an EPIC gift to the fans and a nod to the original series if Zlongame would land her to do the role.
I know some of the dev's of the game check in on the forums now and again, and maybe the admins here have some influence enough to get this noticed. To be clear, I do not know Lisa Ortiz personally, I do not represent her in any capacity, I'm simply a fan who reached out/she responded and I said I would try and find out who had the English dub rights or however this works. I'm hoping if this gets enough attention, Zlongames will see it and maybe explore the possibility of bringing in Ms Ortiz to once more voice an iconic anime role.
Hell, if they do land her, lock her up long term. Who WOULDN'T want a Slayers crossover?

I guess it's kind of odd but I think that the main reason that Icy (and a lot of the others) don't feel like the characters I grew up with anymore is because of the voice acting. Idk I just can't get past the voice acting; I'm not gonna knock Icy's new voice actresses in general. They're not bad actresses, I just don't think that these new voices suit her character. Between that and the design changes (looking a season 6) she just didn't feel like the same character anymore. I think that I would have adored Icy's backstory if Lisa Ortiz was voicing her (and if the show wasn't aged down).
It also just peeves me that they did in fact bring Lisa back but they had her voice Griselda instead. She mentioned on one of her instagram lives that she would have reclaimed her role as Icy if it had been offered.

The BR2 Re-Dub patch for PS1 emulators/original hardware was certainly quite an announcement early this year, especially for an old PS1 title, and done with the handled care and support of some of the more prominent fans of this underrated 3D franchise! Especially when you look at the star-studded cast list for this former curtain-hidden project, ranging from popular names (among them being Kira Buckland, Xander Mobus, Kaiji Tang, Lisa Ortiz, Edward Bosco) to new blood, this is quite more than just something!
While this looks to be a one-time only thing, one has to wonder if they will reprise their roles for a future re-dub of BREX, and if so, who would you guys and gals want to be casted as the following characters next:
While the possibilities are near endless, once has to also wonder if in the future, should Konami and Eighting/8ing revive the series this decade with a brand-new installment, who should voice these forgotten characters since BR1:
Additionally, there’s also the more “salvageable” newcomers IMO from the ill-fated BR4:
Let me know your cast choices in the comments below, and if you think Casey and the cast themselves should be open to do a BREX re-dub next! Other than that, I want to thank Casey, Kira, and the others themselves for making this VA project out of sheer passion in their hearts for this series! Konami should keep them in mind someday when they decide to revive the series itself! Keep on fighting for a revival! #BringBackBloodyRoar
I know a good bit of the community considers Lisa Ortiz to be the best Amy and I can understand why, she's been around for a good portion of our childhood, from Sonic X to All-Stars Racing she's been there for almost a full decade. She deserves her flowers and appreciation for sure.
But whenever there's talks about Amy's voice actor for some reason people like to think that Cindy is the worst and to that I'm just tilting my head and questioning that.
When it comes to sounding feminine and girly both Cindy and Lisa excel at their roles as Amy, Lisa's voice was high pitched and girly, keeping a delicate squealy voice that really appealed to her character from Sonic X and it worked; But I feel like during the "modern times" Cindy has done an incredible job capturing what a "modern" Amy would sound like, she has a feminine and mature tone to her, it really plays off and shines on her character now, especially on Boom. I'm sure if we got an animated adaptation for the IDW comics Cindy would be the best voice to fit Amy, her characters been set up for that mature and girly mixture.
Cindy does not get enough love in this community and I feel like it's due to the nostalgia wool of missing Lisa Ortiz as Amy, don't get me wrong Lisa is an incredible voice for Amy but it wouldn't fit for the Amy we're currently getting. (Also her voice was getting higher and higher to the point she sounded super squeaky in Unleashed)

Hey, everyone! Here's how I would've handled the 4Kids voice cast had I been in charge of it. (DISCLAIMER: I do not by any means intend to target anyone who liked the entire 4Kids cast; I'm simply suggesting some changes that I think would've made it better. I also think this cast could've worked if SEGA chose NYAV Post as their recording studio.)

I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies 😂
