Majestic Studios was a video game development studio founded in 1993 by Steve Bovis, Tim Croucher and Laurence Francis. Their first project was Limbo of the Lost, a text adventure game for the Atari ST. Unfortunately, the ST became outdated long before they actually had a functioning game, forcing them to move to the Amiga 500...which had been out of production since 1992, and was again too outdated for new games. This constant hopping from one system to another and redesigning the game from the ground up meant that Limbo of the Lost would not be released until March 2008, after around fifteen years of development, or at least a couple years of development and ten or so years of sitting around in development hell. (It could be found for sale at a single, small retailer that only shipped within Asia as early as 2007, but the widespread release wouldn't come until 2008.)
Did I mention this is the only game Majestic Studios ever made? Yeah.
Clearly, after spending all of their efforts for fifteen years on a single game, Majestic Studios had to have created a genuinely brilliant piece of software that would revolutionize PC gaming. Well...there aren't many reviews of Limbo of the Lost out there, but the most positive one I could find (and literally the only one that didn't give it a score of zero) was from PC Format, which called it "one of the worst adventures I've ever played". So what exactly is Limbo of the Lost?
Limbo of the Lost is a point-and-click adventure game, a genre popular up until the mid-2000's but now pretty much dead. It involves walking a character from one flat, two-dimensional background to the next and clicking on items to pick them up, combine them and use them on other objects. LOTL is infamous for its poorly-designed puzzles, which often involve clicking on tiny, nearly invisible objects on a dark background, like in this image. Here it is with the item circled, if you couldn't find it. The wiki is incredible, I'd love to watch a video on this. With a smattering of cocaine thrown in, of course.
This hype for the movie is great and all, legitimately, but man, I just feel a bit bummed that there isn't an obligatory video game to accompany it like the older days. A lot of the Bond games were either hit-or-miss or just average, sure, but fuck if most of 'em weren't fun as hell anyway. Would be so dope if I could go and watch the film and then later on play through a video game version of it, or inspired by it, and then frag some buddies in the MP. Just miss Bond in the video game world lol. Anyone else feel the same?
I mean, how low can you go?
I can't remember the exact year when I played this game but my best guess is around 2010. I'm a little fuzzy on the details since it's been quite a while but you were this musician guy that was trapped in this dark alternate world and had to play music to progress. There was a voice that talked to you about your descent into madness. I never got to finish it and I've never been able to find it since!
Ask anyone what they think about crowdfunding games and, more likely than not, they will bring up at least one well known disaster in the past few years. From controversial and disappointing affairs like Mighty No 9 to complete trainwrecks like Yogventures, many have had to learn the hard way how much of a gamble backing a project can be. Of course, there are also some projects so disastrous and poorly pitched that no one would likely support them to begin with. And in 2012, following the overnight sensation of titles like Double Fineβs Broken Age that brought video game crowdfunding to the mainstream, one company (or possibly one man) set out to create the most fraudulent campaign he could.
A Grand Dream
MYTHIC: The Story Of Gods And Men burst onto the scene in April, 2012. Created by Little Monster Productions, the company pitched a brand new RPG epic for PC and Mac platforms. Gamers could choose which storyline to follow based on their chosen fate (From Biblical figures like Lucifer to Greek gods like Zeus), and explore an open world across forest and mountains. Soon enough, they could fight the βTop Godsβ of other religions, conquering the world and enshrining their beliefs across Earth. The player could even choose their morality, and thus which deity to support.
But the campaign wouldnβt just deliver a game, even if the $80K asking price seemed a little low for such ambition. In fact, the money would mainly go to securing a motion capture animation team and music seeing as outside investors had already nearly funded the base concept. Even better, 5% of profits would go to undisclosed projects on Kickstarter that interested the team, and merchandise (or shall I say SWAG) from shirts to swords were soon to be rolled out for interested backers. On top of all this, the company was being run by ex-Activision/Blizzard employees! This is 2012 so donβt worry, that's supposed to be a good thing.
Really, the opening pitch alone set the bar high.
>Mythic is and action/strategy based RPG brought to you by the same team that left Activision / Blizzard in search of something better! MYTHIC is an open world concept that will allow you to choose where you want to go even if it does not coincide with the story line and current missions list (hey, sometimes we ju

I think jacksepticeye or markiplier played this game? i remember you woke up in your bedroom and put on clothes, and then went to the kitchen and depending on what you did in your last life things would change.
2012 was the year that crowdfunding effectively took off in the gaming landscape. Titles like Broken Age proved game developers could take their ideas directly to the public, opening a new avenue for funding oneβs dream projects without relying on AAA publishers. Creators big and small would gradually turn to the platform over time, and for better or worse Kickstarter has become a fixture in the modern gaming market for many. Of course, this new tool would attract attention from many outsiders to the world of game development as well. And in Spring of that year, The Yogscast would announce a Kickstarter of their own, leading to one of the biggest trainwrecks in crowdfunding history.
I Am A Dwarf And Iβmβ¦
The Yogscast is a group of friends that, like nearly every channel back in the day, would upload countless hours of content playing video games. Originally formed by Lewis Brindley and Simon Lane, the duo grew a strong following through their Warcraft content before branching out to games like Garryβs Mod, Grand Theft Auto, and, of course, Minecraft. Itβs hard to understand just how huge Yogscast was, their Minecraft song parodies alone gaining tens of millions of views and retaining a massive fan base that would watch them play through practically any title. While not as influential as before, they are still uploading to this day, and enjoy a steady stream of fans even over a decade after their career first launched.
So, it perhaps wasnβt too out of left field when they looked for collaborators to make their own video game. With the growing success of Kickstarter, and their massive popularity on Youtube, The Yogscast would strike while the iron was hot when they announced a project that would take the world (or at least, their fanbase) by storm.
In April 2012, the channel announced a new crowdfunding campaign for a video game called Yogventures. Accompanied with a bit of footage in the gameβs conceptual stages, the game would be an open world sandbox where players could find resources, explore d

At one point in the game, there were a few construction guys with the yellow hats following you, like at least 4-5 of them? and another point you were in a lake or something, and if you fell in there were 2 mermaids that would try and pull you down

Like seriously how low can you go?
How does this work?
Buyer bought a video game for several hundred dollars. I sent game, and saw a item not received dispute yesterday. Buyer emails me and states he forgot to add his apt number to his shipping address. Item is showing as "undeliverable address" in tracking history.
The eBay dispute page staes that if you don't provide a tracking number, or the item is not delivered to provide a refund.
First, I print labels directly from eBay. Why they need the tracking uploaded a 2nd time is puzzling, and frustrating.
Second, why is it my fault some tater can't fill out his own address? Its like the buyers have all the rights in every situation, and the sellers get the shaft in every sotuation.
I know the item 'should" come back to me. But its the busiest time of the year. Stuff gets lost. On top of the buyer stating he is trying to go to the post office and intercept the package.
So obviously I'm a bit concerned about sending a refund, and losing out on shipping, before my item even/ever comes back.
I don't know how to explain it. I'll have dishes, washing or cleaning to do or whatever. I know it really needs doing. I'm sat there trying to force myself to get up and do it. I know once it's done I'll feel better, then I can relax and watch TV or play a video game.
But during that paralysis, I can't even do those other things I'd like to do. I can't turn the TV on or play the game I want to play with this free time I have, which is limited as it is, because I feel guilty that I'm not doing the thing I need to do.
So I end up just sitting on my phone or doing basically nothing, wasting the time I had, until the very last minute. Then I'll rush everything I had to do, doing it poorly or leaving it only half done before I have to leave the house or do something even more important.
I think it's time to consider medication.
What a stupid thing to Fallout 4.
One of the mods on r/HobbyDrama suggested that this would also fit on this sub, so I'm reposting it from there.
