“Falling!” I shouted as I let go of the rock.

I sat back into my harness and braced myself as I careened away from the cliff face. My rope went taught, catching me and swinging me back towards the mountain. I bent my knees and absorbed the impact on the balls of my feet.

I shook out my hands and stared up at the hold, thankful that the bolt connecting me to the mountain had held.

“You good?” My brother Brad called out from below.

“Yeah,” I said, reaching down to chalk my hands before grabbing a nearby hold and continuing upward.

It was far from the first time I’ve been saved by my rope. I’ve been climbing for ten years, and have taken more than my fair share of unexpected tumbles during that time.

I continued up the face, clipping into the bolts with my quickdraws until I reached a narrow overhang where I could sit. We were on a multi-pitch climb, which meant we had to take turns belaying each other as we climbed up the mountain.

I double clipped into protection then called out the go-ahead for Brad to start climbing. I watched his technique, pleased at his progress. Brad had only been climbing for a year or so, but he was far more advanced than I’d been with a similar amount of experience.

We were only halfway up the cliffside, but I could already tell it was going into my list of favorite routes. I’d chanced upon this route while on a multi-day hike the previous year. A line of bolts going up this face had caught my eye, and I’d been planning to return and check it out ever since.

"You doing alright?" I asked Brad.

"I'm glad you came out here with me," I said. "Samantha would be happy too."

He gave a forced smile, taking a swig of water. I turned away when my eye swept over his wedding ring. Samantha, Brad’s wife, had died in a tragic car accident just over a year ago and he’d been taking it hard. Luckily, I’d discovered there were few things better for mental health than climbing outdoors.

Brad and I climbed for several pitches, swapping the lead every hour or so. I had taken the lead when I looked up to see the bolts ran beside an impression in the rock.

As I approached, I realized the impression was a cave. I swung my foot out and stepped into the mouth of the cave, then waited for Brad to join me.

We shot each other a look as we took a few steps into the shadows.

“You ever see anything like this?” I asked.

“A natural cave in the side of a cliff?” Brad asked. “Nope. But I bet whoever installed those bolts had been climbing to

Overview

Hi everybody!

For database practice, I decided to create a quick set of all the main casts featured so far in Phase 4 of the MCU. Because I wanted the concept of 'main cast' to be defined by named characters with consistent appearances and at least some relevance to the story of the specific movie/show they appeared in, I removed some names I felt did not need to be included yet or were too small a role to actually count. Most notably:

• Benedict Wong: appears twice as Wong. Once in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and once in Spider Man: No Way Home.
• Julia Louis-Dreyfus: appears twice as Valentina de Fontaine. Once in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and once in Black Widow.
• Josh Stamberg: appears as Tyler Hayward in WandaVision.
• Don Cheadle: appears as James Rhodes in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
• Clé Bennett: appears as Lemar Hoskins in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
• Carl Lumbly: appears as Isaiah Bradley in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
• Jonathan Majors: appears as He Who Remains in Loki.
• Tony Revolori: appears as Flash Thompson in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
• Rhys Ifans: appears as Curt Connors in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
• Thomas Haden Church: appears as Flint Marko in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
• Charlie Cox: appears as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The animated series What If... was excluded altogether. Several recurring parts were also cut, including the alternate Lokis, other Peter Parker's high school characters, the Lady Sif, Captain Marvel, Hulk and Venom cameos, and Hunter C-20 from Loki.

Findings

The reason I started this was simply that I wanted to see how often actors were being cast to play a character of a different nationality in Phase Four. So what's the answer?

16 actors have been cast to play a foreign part this year. 7 from England, 3 from the USA, 2 from
Germany, 2 from Canada, 1 from Northern Ireland and 1 from Ukraine.

Actors from 14 different nationalities have been part of Phase 4 so far, with the majority of them coming from the United States, naturally. England yields the next most MCU alumni with Canada being a far third. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals are tied for most diverse cast yet, featuring 7 different nationalities, followed by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier with 4.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Women’s Strawweight

Luana Pinheiro (-290) (9-1-0, 7 FWS) v Sam Hughes (+245) (5-3-0, 2 FLS) - I like this one. Pinheiro has a fairly high finish rate and despite her rocky debut against Markos in which Markos threw an illegal gentle up kick, she absolutely dominated her, there was nothing Markos had that could give her issues, whether its strong counters, punches, or excellent hip tosses, she looks like an outstanding prospect for the division, and a much needed talent at that considering how shallow the division is. Pinheiro is very well rounded, but I feel like she still needs to be tested, and there’s also the question of how she will be in the second or third round, considering her finishes have been relatively early in the fight, and soon she will be fighting tougher and more experienced opponents. Hughes is currently 0-2 in the UFC, but not without the lack of trying, she’s fairly good at crashing into her opponent with strong flurries and can make it gritty in there when necessary, it’s her grappling that can be a bit troublesome and that’s perhaps where I can see Pinheiro getting the upper hand, because even though Hughes doesn’t have a whole lot of technique behind her punches, its the power and speed of the punches that can be troublesome to deal with. We still haven’t seen the full potential of Pinheiro though, and that debut fight was outstanding as she was clearly winning the fight. I got Pinheiro in this fight, she looked incredible when fighting Markos.
