A list of puns related to "Lachlan Power"
Don't get me wrong I love to see the sport growing, but personally I find these half assed PPV's very off putting. The whole point of having armwrestling on YouTube was to bring exposure to the sport and make it accessible to a wider audience. Now with the rise of PPV's we are putting the sport behind a paywall. A potential new fan will see this and quickly lose interest once they realize that they're gonna have to pay 5 dollars every time there is a match.
Quality
The reason for a PPV is to bring an epic event to audiences. Here the audience is willingly purchasing the broadcast because they know they will be getting quality camerawork, expert commentary, perfect audio, and a bad ass main event with entertaining undercards. It is the type of event that even someone who doesn't follow the sport has heard about and it garners attention. This is why people host parties based around PPV's. Throughout my years I have spent thousands on UFC and Boxing PPV's. I have no problem paying for PPV's when the quality is there i.e. King of the Table, East Vs West. However, recently, many youtubers are attempting to start a PPV model for their subpar events. The first example is the Pound for Pound event "Toddzilla vs Lachlan". A fascinating match no doubt, and definitely deserving of being a PPV if packaged correctly. Unfortunately it was not; 5 dollars and the event was a mess:
Price
Many people have correctly pointed out that WAL events were reasonably priced at 2.99 and you got 3+ hours off content with excellent production and entertaining undercards. Meanwhile these YouTube PPVs are charging people double and providing substantially less content. What does this mean for the future of the sport? On one hand it could deter highly produced events from returning if they are investing too much for very little return. On the other hand it could mean they will come back and drastically increase the price of the PPV's. Either outcome will be detrimental as the sport will become more inaccessible.
Upcoming Events
Recently, more YouTube PPV's are being floated around (Monster Factory matches, Derek Smith vs Tim Bresnan, Chance vs Toddzilla).

The response I got from the first post was, quite frankly, overwhelming. I ended up staying up until 4am that night trying to reply to everyone. I failed, and spent most of the next day finishing up, but more and more messages kept rolling in. A big thank you to everyone that got in touch with me or told their coaches/teammates about the opportunity! If I didn't reply to anyone that messaged, I'm extremely sorry; I replied to hundreds of messages but may have missed a few. In retrospect, I really should have put my PA on it rather than doing it personally. It took far too much time away from watching YouTube videos.
Anyway, let's jump into it. The first person to come was Yuri Simoes. 2x ADCC champion (<88kg and <99kg), 2x IBJJF No Gi world champion (Absolute), 2x IBJJF No Gi world champion (<97.5kg), and a lot more. He had just finished a competition in the UK, and due to fortunate timing on his other obligations, was able to get to Dubai within 48 hours. It was great spending time with Yuri both on and off the mat. He's a guy that wears his heart on his sleeve and is zero bullshit. We went over arm bars from mount, s-mount, side control, and guard, as well as several guard passes, the basics of heel hooks from saddle, back takes, single legs, and wrestling fundamentals. On top of this, we also did weight sessions with a focus lifts that are specifically useful for BJJ. I learned a huge amount from Yuri and had a great time in the process. I felt my game from these positions significantly improve.
Yuri is a super-dedicated coach that really cares about his student(s) improving. He was also very patient with me, as I got sick with fever and nausea literally the night before he landed, so I couldn't roll hard but at least showed up every day to drill and flow. After 5 days of fever/nausea I got a gastroscopy and it turned out to be gastritis (PCR was negative), which meds helped clear up in a few days. Aside from training, Yuri also gave me advice on supplements such as b-alinine, creatine, glutamine, magnesium, whey protein, and BCAAs, which made my recovery much better and my gas tank

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

I have Todd as the favorite in this match, but I don't think it will be as easy as many people seem to think. Lachlan was really impressive vs Ryan and I can see him taking rounds of Todd.
I'd actually like to see him win the whole thing as that would shake up the rankings quite a bit.
Where do you guys think nogi bjj is headed technique wise? Now that people have caught on to the Danaher style of inside position and leg locks from the saddle, whats next up for the meta?
Lachlan claims that outside position based guards like de la riva and kguard along with outside based leg entries are rhe future of nogi jiu jitsu. Craig says that the meta will be focused on wrestling, and in his new Power Bottom instructional says that a strategy based on turtling, wrestling up from guard, and standing up whenever possible will be dominant.
What do you guys think? Is Craig right, is Lachlan right, is some combination of the two right?

ATN = Fox News
Cruise Ship Scandal = News of the World (in particular govt inquiry)
Jeryd Menken = Trumpist populsim riding the far right/racist wave
Connor's presidential bid = somewhat comical popularity among the tea party political fringe that arose during the Ron Paul era.
Kendall Roy = Lachlan Murdoch, sort of the most business savvy of the children. I was also thinking some of his character development might be based on James Packer, who is the son of the late Kerri Packer - at one point Australia's richest man and powerful media mogul. James Packer went through depression/rehab and his father was always a looming presence in his life that it felt he was always trying live up the challenge of taking over his father's business interests and make his own name in the business world.
Volta = Buzzfeed, in the sense of being a click baity new media company but when you look under the hood you see a lot of their large numbers are pretty empty from audience engagement.
Roman and this team getting held up in Turkey = the Saudi hotel corruption seige by the Crown Prince a few years back
Argestes = Davos
Do your worst!
They were cooked in Greece.
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
It really does, I swear!
Because she wanted to see the task manager.
Heard they've been doing some shady business.
but then I remembered it was ground this morning.
Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
BamBOO!
