A list of puns related to "Kinetic inductance"
I get it. Our new aspect may not be a badass diamond ice spear. It may not be completely busted in crucible. But it is anything but boring. Let me show you why.
What will we accomplish with this build?
· Constant up time on melee ability
· Constant 25% weapon damage buff
· Consistent 50% buff to kinetic primary damage
· Consistent 30% debuff and stun on enemy groups
· The ability to dial Hawkmoon up to 11
· The ability to stun overload champs
· The choice between a constant over shield or insanely quick super cooldowns
· The ability to regain super energy from super kills
Alright, let’s get to the fun stuff!
We are gonna be rocking the shadebinder warlock for this one. Reason one, the ability to freeze is one of the most powerful tools available for crowd control. But, now with our new aspect and fragments it also becomes a tool that can boost our dps and burst potential. Reason two, stasis might be one of the most viable support classes in the game. Its ability to enable other stasis users’ fragments as well as recharge teammates’ melee abilities, I would argue rivals even middle tree dawn when it comes to support potential. This builds utility is crazy and it’s all thanks to the following combination of aspects, fragments, and abilities.
Our build is built around freezing targets, it’s what the shadebinder does best so the grenade that isnta freezes multiple enemies seems like an obvious pick. While we will mainly be focusing on tossing out penumbral blasts if we ever die or have our gameplay loop disrupted this is a good reset button to get us back on track.
The aspect description reads, “Freezing targets creates [Stasis] Stasis shards around the frozen targets. Higher tier combatants create more shards” what this means is we warlocks finally have a way to generate shards. It also means, melee for days. Freezing a red bar targets creates one shard, a standard yellow bar two shards, and bosses and champs create three. Each shard rewards around 15% of your melee charge. This in combination with some synergistic fragments allows us to max out the up time on our melee. More melee means more freeze, more freeze means more shards, creating a loop. However, when you make up to six shards in rapid succession with glacial harvest the aspect goes on a brief cooldown, so pace yourself.
This aspect’s description reads “Shattering a frozen target s

Spoilers warning for the Ravenor series and from The Emperor's Gift.
Posting this because I think it's an awesome connection that not everyone is aware of. It's rare enough to see original characters cross from one author's series to another's. It also gives a really humanising insight into the Grey Knights who had some infamously edgy lore in years past.
We first encounter Hyperion in his youth while he still bore his original name of Zael Effernetti. His background is grim, even for the grimdark of the far future. It's a sickeningly tragic insight into the life and poverty stricken upbringing of a child in the underhive. His family is a broken wreck of what it once was. His parents died in a hivepox outbreak that decimated the his home in Petropolis. One of his only memories of them is their bodies being carted away. His Grandmother is his only adult caretaker. She regularly abuses substances and cries herself to sleep, choked with grief. Hardly a suitable guardian, as you might imagine. She died from an overdose when Zael was eleven.
The only light of Zael's life was his older sister Nove who does her best to keep them afloat financially.
>He used his first flect the summer he turned eleven, but he’d seen them before. Seen the users too. Scrap-heads, burn outs, wasters. Then he found out just how crap life in the sink-stacks could get.
>
>Four months before his eleventh birthday, the Departimento Munitorum shut down two fabricatories in the district. Nineteen thousand indentured workers were, in the Munitorum’s words, ‘decruited’. No reason was ever offered for the closures. But it was common knowledge that there was a trade slump right across the sub. Stories went round that new, automated plants had been opened in the northern-most zone: plants where a single servitor could perform the work of twenty indents without the need for sleep shifts. Other rumours said the fabs had lost a navy contract to manufactories on Caxton. Whatever, the work was gone. The fabs were shuttered up and boarded. Nineteen thousand able indents were hung out to rot.
>
>Zael’s parents had both died in a hivepox outbreak years before. He lived in the stacks with his granna and his sister, Nove. She was eighteen, a flat-frame rigger, and the family’s only wage earner. Nove was one of those decruited

To be absolutely, completely, utterly, entirely, horrifically, killyourplanetically clear on this: I am NOT expecting this build to be "good" from a gameplay perspective. At all. Like if I can get to a point where I can handle Advanced queues without too much trouble I will be ecstatic. But I have wanted to do a Battlestar build for a while now and here is what I have so far. The goal is to listen to Bear McCreary soundtracks and growl about how "I'm getting. My. Men." while sending my fighter squadrons out to kill a target while I throw supporting fire at it. The odd star twinkle when it shouldn't have was the only evidence of the small black orb. It orbited in the LaGrange point of planet C92B4-4 on the far side of the planet from its star. It wasn't sure how long it had been there. It could look. Something deep within it didn't want to know. [S]he looked at the atomic clock. Three hundred years. She checked her resource reserves, as fuller consciousness came. Individuality filled in where it had been abandoned. On a cycle, now, she knew. She was in the form of a prison orb. Radra's resource reserves were at 98%. She performed a system scan. The second planet was in the habitable zone of this star. There was life on it, but that life had not reached outside its atmosphere, yet. No other visitors had come to this system. The gas giant she orbited was still untouched by resource collection. No signals had reached her, in any spectrum, from her order. None is relativity constrained space. None in FTL. None over personal ansible transceiver.
Of course there were no messages. Radra was the last. That's why she was here. Once the last keepalive ceased, her build templates had opened up. She'd been overwhelmed by the variety, and by the grief and rage. By this time in human development, cyberpsychosis was a hard to come by variant of Post Traumatic Stress, but its description fit well. She'd picked the largest, most destructive template by reflex. Her enemies torn asunder, even as she underwent a flood of additional stimuli from her Forge Core. When she found her self the last thing living within two star systems in any direction, she had sunk herself into a nearby gas giant, absorbed its resources, and fled. Not in fear. Well, not in fear of the enemy. She was afraid of what she'd found herself capable of. She was afraid of the ghosts of her comrades, pointing fingers, blaming her for surviving when they didn't. Still new to the unredacted Forge Core, she'd found a template by reflex. It must have pushed its way up to her conscious in response to her mindset at the time. A prison orb. Usually imposed on an individual, she'd selected it on her own. Gave it a set of instructions and sunk below individuality.
Going through these reflections took time measured in fractions of a second for a being that was cyber assisted, a synthetic sapient intelligence, or the like. Before Radra's dormancy protocol kicked in, she noticed something. She suspended the protocol, and performed analytics on a passive scan. Newcomers

Staff Sergeant Gary Lam hanged himself from the 4th floor window of St. Ogilvie General on April 15th, 2011. It took EMTs six minutes to break through the door he’d jammed shut and cut him down. By then, he’d shorn off six out of eight fingernails digging bloody furrows into his neck, and his face had swollen to the tender consistency and color of an overripe grape. This was not to mention his tongue- thrust out and nearly severed by an involuntarily clenching jaw, or the stains slicking the bottom half of his hospital gown. You didn’t need a medical license to know to start unrolling the body bag.
Six minutes is eternity to an asphyxiating man, but during that time the rapidly growing crowd in the parking lot was treated to a second horrifying spectacle. As Gary Lam listed to and fro in the wind, a woman, a nurse perhaps, was trying and failing to pull him back into the room. Of course, the only thing she thought to pull on was the rope itself, an act that served little but to jerk and hitch the man like some kind of macabre puppet.
In order to truly get Southeast Asian horror, if you’re not already from there, you need to understand that we see our countries very differently from the way you do.
The common perception can be found splashed across countless vlogs and perfectly curated social media pages. Pristine beaches, charming street vendors, picture perfect weather, often shared by college graduates intent on “finding themselves” on a gap year.
Not quite my experience.
See, those of us who grew up here don’t remember frolicking on the beach or going on bar crawls with our attractive friends from the hostel. We remember the heat, for one. Oppressive, ever-present, and coupled with a thick, cloying humidity that sears your eyes and smothers any semblance of rational thought. We also remember old cautionary tales of horrors that follow you home because of a poorly timed, poorly phrased comment. Things that show up not on your doorstep but on your ceiling. Things that grab your hand as you reach for a light switch, or your ankles when you’re swimming alone. Things that, as the rainforests were replaced by monoliths of glass and steel, weren’t intimidated in the slightest by the advent of modernity.
Maybe that’s why the only time I feel safe writing about this is from an apartment in Los Angeles, several continents away.

Mum always loved to wear sarongs (fabric wraps that go around the torso and drape downward a bit like a long skirt would), so my uncle suggested that she wear a sarong in there.
The funeral director looked a bit confused, as did some of our family members, to which my uncle added:
"What's sarong with that?"
I started laughing like an idiot. He was proud of it too. The funeral director was rather shocked. We assured her, and our more proper relatives, that Mum would've absolutely loved the joke (which is very true).
His delivery was perfect. I'll never forget the risk he took. We sometimes recall the moment as a way help cushion the blows of the grieving process.

The Over Achiever, just like its class namesake, is a testament to the powers of entrepreneurship, business acumen, hard work, and leveraging synergies to create a ship that is stylish, functional, and capable of generating considerable return on investment over and above expectations. Efficiency in form and function have been applied in keeping with Rule of Acquisitions #3 "Never spend more for an acquisition than you have to." and #34 "War is good for business."
As such, this ship and its allies spend less time than usual fighting against shields inefficiently and prefer to focus on weakening shields on a single facing before attacking hull directly. The fact that its name includes ""Over"" while primarily using Beam Overload is pure coincidence. ;)
This is an iteration of a previous build on a Gagarin/Fleet Shepard. With the recent Mudd's Store bundle as well as finishing some build updates, I figured it was a good time to post this.
Meta Analysis
I rarely follow the DPS League or whatever the build meta is strictly speaking. First, my budget is lower. Second, my builds almost always have a ""twist"" that's a little different. While I don't think my builds are the best in the game, the numbers are a testament to what you can do with a more modest budget and a good understanding of mechanics:
198K ISA randoms
320K organized ISE
Budget: All gear is Mk XV gilded, four T6 C-store ships, 1 3-piece Lobi set (about 400M), 1 Lobi ship, 3 Event Ships, about 50M EC in traits, boff powers, consoles, and doffs. The Quark Marauder itself, of course, is an expensive acquisition whether obtained through Mudd's Store or a Lockbox/Exchange, but pretty much everything on this build can be translated easily to a Fleet Shepard (Gagarin) or its KDF equivalent.
If I had to divide 12 points among the eight major focal points of ship building, I would rate this build as follows: Survivability: 2, Energy DPS: 3, Exotic: 0, Projectile: 2, Agility: 1, Theme: 2, Hangar: 0, and Support: 2
The Twist: Tetryon and the Softening of Shields
The twists on this ship are using Tetryon Dual Beam Banks (when Tetryon is the weakest energy type) and shield weakening (see below). Don't let those fool you, though. This ship has many transferrable build concepts which are discussed later on in the post. Virtually any Beam Overload build with Beam Arrays can use the concept

For the last 25 years, I’ve been working to develop inverters for electric vehicles that are smaller, lighter and lower cost. We used to say that our goal should be to make electric vehicle power electronics that are smaller than a spark plug, lighter than air and cheaper than dirt. Well, we’re not able to do that, but we have made great progress in developing inverters that are considerably smaller, lighter and lower cost than previous generations. We also used to say that there was a kind of “Moore’s Law” for inverter technology development so that each new generation of inverter technology could provide significant improvements in size, weight and cost.

Faraday Future has developed a new generation of compact, lightweight inverters providing 850 Amps rms of AC current from a patented design that mounts directly to a high-power motor providing up to 350 hp (261 kW). The small but mighty inverter is a compact 8 liters and weighs in at 8 kg. Combined with the motor, gearbox and parking pawl system, the single drive unit weighs 93 kg giving a power-to-weight ratio of 2.8 kW/kg. In the year 2054, when humanity and their associate races have learned to live side-by-side (or at least marginally more side-by-side than it was during Chimera Squad), XCOM is no more. No, it's not because Earth has seen another set of aliens to probe our asses and see how deep it can go (yet), simply because it's original purpose, as the spearhead against unknown extraterrestrial threats, has mainly been supplanted by the greater Terran Armed Forces and the myriad of Special Operations Forces in existence. Bradford and the Great Commandy One either continue their military employment or retire completely, with Shen and Tygan returning to civilian sectors to transcend the races to transhumanism. Or cyberpunk. The races of Earth are starting to explore and colonize the solar system in the hopes of finding new frontiers and more oil to sell to the wealthiest Middle East billionaire descendant for God-knows-what.
However, in the colonies of Mars, something is happening. Crimes go up, local resources disappear, unknown sightings across the fringes of the settlements, the works. Earth's Civil Affairs Division, formerly known as the Reclamation Agency, has seen fit to send a cadre of economic, infrastructure and military assistance to the entirety of Mars (the latter of which is a particular sore spot for the Mars colonists), complete with a civilian oversight group known as the Astrological Studies and Observatory Group, or ASOG for short. They have their own security forces, formed by former XCOM, SOFs, alien veterans of the Invasion and the subsequent Insurgency, intelligence spooks, as well as vets of the Monster Girl Flashpoint in which everyone has learned to instinctively deny the existence of such conflict till their races' collective dying breaths.
ASOG's job is simple: collaborate with local enforcement agencies as well as other independent civilian specialists to learn why crime went the fuck up, slap them down with civil initiatives™©® (both of legitimate and FBI OPEN UP kinds of initiatives), as well as update information to Civil Affairs to the growing rumors of a literal Pheonix Point remake on Mars, and should they prepare for all-out war or not. In 2021 the Ministry of Defence published a request for information to install electromagnetic catapult and arrestor wire systems to support the Future Maritime Aviation Force within 3-5 years. A catapult capable of launching an aircraft with a maximum weight of 25 tonnes, and arrestors with a maximum trap weight of 22 tonnes were sought. This system is not intended to allow the aircraft carrier to operate aircraft such as the Super Hornet or F-35C, but is intended more to permit the use of large fixed-wing UASs and 'loyal wingman' style drones. Theoretically, it could accommodate the E-2D aircraft, but there are no plans to acquire these.
In June 2022, Converteam UK were awarded a contract to develop a modernised version of their Electro Magnetic Kinetic Induction Technology (EMKIT) launch system, which had first been developing the mid 2000s and carried out thousands of successful launches, and EMKIT+ could launch an aircraft of 10,000kg along a 94 metre track. Since EMKIT+ was first developed there have been many advances in technology to store and produce electricity, and between 2022 and 2024, a developmental system based on this was installed at RNAS Culdrose and used a variety of different test vehicles up to a weight of 25,000kg. Further tests using various UASs were carried out at ParcAberporth.
In 2025, Converteam UK carried out a test launch of the Spirit Mosquito under the auspices of Project Vixen. A 12m long UAS with a maximum take off weight of 3,200kg, the trials yielded beneficial test data for Project Vixen that will be carried through to Phase 2 of the LANCA programme to ensure that a carrier-based variant is functional. The Mosquito is the heaviest UAS available for testing, but the viability of the system was proven and Converteam, Qinetiq and the Ministry of Defence have declared it to be operationally viable.
The process to fit the system and carry out sea trials will take around 18 months from dry docking at Rosyth and will involve minor structural alterations to extend the flight deck out. A highly enantiodivergent organocatalytic method is disclosed for the synthesis of atropisomeric biaryls via kinetic resolution inspired by a dipeptide‐phosphonium salt‐catalyzed Atherton–Todd (A‐T) reaction. This flexible approach led to both R‐ and S‐enantiomers by fine‐tuning of bifunctional phosphonium with excellent selectivity factors (s) of up to 1057 and 525, respectively. The potential of newly synthesized O‐phosphorylated biaryl diols was illustrated by the synthesis of axially chiral organophosphorus compounds. Mechanistic investigations suggest that the bifunctional phosphonium halide catalyst differentiates between the in‐situ‐generated P‐species in the A‐T process, mainly involving phosphoryl chloride and phosphoric anhydride, thus leading to highly enantiodivergent O‐phosphorylation reactions. Furthermore hydrogen bonding interactions between the catalysts and phosphorus molecules were crucial in asymmetric induction.
