A list of puns related to "Killington Ski Resort"
Around what time each year does Killington reach 100% open with all runs? I know this obviously depends year-to-year but on average?
Hi /r/icecoast! I will be in NYC Tue-Fri on the last week of January. I was initially going for an interview, but it got cancelled so now I have a few days to kill. I was hoping to scrounge together a ski trip. I have one buddy in NYC who also has the Ikon pass who might want to join, but we have no car. If anyone here lives near NYC, has a car, and is down to join a couple friendly skiers on a day trip to Killington, let me know! I was thinking we'd leave Tue afternoon, spend the night near the resort at an AirBnB or something, then ski all day the day after and drive back that evening. Send me a PM if interested!
Hi all, I'm from PA and I bought tickets for December 25th to 27th. Anyone know how many trails they usually have opened by then? I'm a little nervous that it won't be much but it's about the only time I can go!
Hello all! I am participating in a college rep program for Killington Ski Resort. This means that I get a special discount code that applies to the 4.0 College Season Pass. The discount is 30% and the season pass includes lots of perks like five 50% off lift tickets for your college friends and discounts on resort food and some lodging. If I sell enough, I will get a pass for free! (Hopefully I have time to make it to the mountain this year)
My code is R16Q96G for anyone interested :)
Note: must be a full-time student.
we planned a trip to killington at the end of january. i grew up skiing and he's only been once, last year -- he was an awesome sport (bless him) but could benefit from a private lesson. are there any more affordable options/local instructors who would be willing to meet us? not sure if this is allowed but the killington lessons are pricey.
also looking for general tips on which trails might be best for him to try first (any of the magic carpets?) and where the two of us might go for apres ski. tia!
Hi all, planning a big Eastern roadtrip with my Ikon pass this January. I'm hoping to do a 2 week rip through Tremblant > Sugarloaf > Sunday River > Sugarbush > Killington > Stratton. I have the first week pretty much planned out with Monday/Tuesday at Tremblant, 2 days at Sugarloaf, and the weekend at Sunday River. On the Sunday I'll move into Vermont, but am wondering how many days I should spend at Sugarbush vs. Killington vs. Stratton. Currently prioritizing Killington with 2 full days (3 nights), and probably 1.5 days at SB & Strat. Wondering what fellow skiers that have been this way think of this plan and which hill is your favourite? How would you spend your time on a trip like this?
For context: Fairly strong Intermediate skier here, I like glades but won't spend all day in there, love a proper cruiser with nice views and fun side hits, not much on terrain parks. Going in late January.
A not so reliable source just told me this and I canβt find anything on the news, does anyone know if this is true?
Going to be staying on the mountain at the grand resort hotel for 3 nights. Since it is ski in and out, is there a place in the lodge to get your boots and everything on? Or do you just do that in your room? First time doing a ski in and out type of stay.
This needs quite a bit of context. First of all, Iβm an amputee, I donβt have left leg below the knee and I havenβt since I was 16 (Iβm 25 now). I wonβt bore you with the details why, but just know that Iβve fully accepted myself and my body and I maintain a positive attitude.
One thing Iβve always wanted to do but never got the chance is learn how to snowboard. This winter, my twin brother volunteered to teach me - he learned it in his teens but I couldnβt because, well, I was learning how to walk again in the meantime. Weβve been talking about it for awhile and finally decided to do it.
We live within a day tripβs distance of some resorts, and last weekend we agreed to drive up to give it a go. At the last minute, he asked if he can also bring his new girlfriend (of one month) whoβs allegedly a pro. I was cool with it and drove them both up.
I got really negative vibes from her right away. She was rude and dismissive, despite the fact that I was their ride. Then, on the hill, as he was teaching me the basics on the bunny hill, she kept rolling her eyes and complaining how she wanted to go to the black diamonds. He told her go ahead, but he wasnβt going to leave me. She just kept scoffing and complained sheβs be bored alone.
Snowboarding is hard to learn for anyone, but especially for someone with a prosthetic leg. I was having a very hard time with it, and it felt humiliating, even tho my bro was very patient. After landing on my ass yet again and bruising my tailbone, I started tearing up and said I wanted to take a break. My bro was tired but patient and he suggested getting some hot chocolate and then calling it a day. Then his gf let out βso we donβt even get any time on the mountain??! You didnβt tell me sheβs a fucking cripple!β
That really really upset me. Especially that he didnβt say anything and instead apologised to his girlfriend. So I stormed off crying and drove away. I didnβt calm down for awhile, Iβve never felt so useless and insulted. He had to call his buddy for a ride home. Now he demands I apologise to him and his gf.
AITA?
EDIT: I honestly donβt know why I put friend in the title when I meant to put brother. My brain glitched lol
