A list of puns related to "Kikuyu"
With the elections coming up Iβm keen to know what my fellow Kenyans think about kikuyu privilege, if itβs real and what we can do as a nation to promote unity over tribalism.
Unfortunately Iβm already hearing quite a lot of tribalism rhetoric around who people will vote for which makes me sad, but I also acknowledge that in politics we have had a disproportionate amount of Kikuyu presidents in office.
Thoughts?
I put down new Kikuyu seeds 4 weeks ago this Sunday and theyβve well and truly germinated. Iβd say anything that hasnβt come through is probably dead so there is some bare patches, unfortunately.
The weather in my region is mid-high 20 degrees celsius and a few days of 30-35 in the next 1-2 weeks. Would you recommend I continue watering 4 times per day for 10 min each or should I bring it back to twice daily (5:30am and 12:00pm) but for 20 minutes each time in order to develop deeper roots?
Iβll be away over this period so wonβt be able to monitor for how wet it is on the <30 degree days or how dry it is on the >30 degree days.
Unfortunately, the sprinkler doesnβt quite cover the whole area either so will just have to hope those parts survive on their own.
Hello everyone! I'm u/umw111, and I recently became the new moderator of r/Kikuyu. This sub has obviously been quite in recent years, but I'm hoping to make it active again.
As a first order of business, I'm looking for co-moderators! If you're interested in helping out with the sub, just send me a pm explaining why you want to be a mod, and what your goals for the sub are. Look forward to hearing from you guys!

Hi guys. I have a tricky situation. I am in the Gold Coast of Australia.
I have a Kikuyu lawn which is mostly full of this weed. I cannot work out what it is??? Crabgrass? I have watched tons of videos to help identify but I can't nail it.
from research if it is crabgrass etc. Quinclorac would be the way to go. but I keep seeing people use Quinclorac to kill Kikuyu...? so now I'm even more confused with what to do. I wasn't aware of pre emergents until too late. I now have a bottle of barricade but its too late at this point.
I'll leave some photos to help explain.

The oppression of the Kikuyu people did not end with the end of British presence, rather, it merely changed hands into the German system under the new realm of Deutsch-Mittelafrika, and has only worsened under Statthalter von Goering. With Germany's colonial empire tearing apart at the seams however, and the independence movement stronger than ever, perhaps there will soon be hope for Kenya...
During the lead up to the collapse: As Kenyatta's lawsuit progresses, the Kenyan people grow restless and begin to riot. Mittelafrika has the option to either ignore the agitators, violently put them down, or cooperate. Violently putting them down loses Mittelafrika some manpower, but also causes Kenya to start with less manpower if and when it gains independence. If they choose to cooperate and meet the rioter's demands, a fair bit of political power is lost but the resistance target in Kenya decreases.
If the collapse happens: With Mittelafrika in chaos and the Colonial Office powerless to stop it, Kenya is finally free! The nation is originally named "Kikuyuland" under the Mau Mau Clique (PatAut), but after completing the "Restore Order" focus and the nation is at peace, the provisional government of the Republic of Kenya is declared with Jomo Kenyatta (AuthDem) at its head. Now comes the matter of the nation itself...
Mumbo Revolt: As Kenyatta struggles to keep a hold on his fledgling nation, a millenialist cult worshipping a god called "Mumbo" sees an opportunity and begins an all-out revolt in western Kenya. This will be the new nation's trial by fire, and its ability to survive depends on the outcome of this revolt.
Mumbo Cult: National Populists
Mau Mau Clique: Paternal Autocrats
Kenya African Union (KAU): Authoritarian Democrats
Kenya African Democratic Union (KADU): Social Conservatives, Market Liberals, Social Liberals
Kenyan Labour Movement (KLM): Social Democrats
Kenyan Socialist Party (KSP): Radical Socialists, Totalists, Syndicalists
(Note: Some of these are based on real organizations of the time, but others I had to take from later Kenyan history or just make up.)
Saviour of Africa (NatPop):
The Mumbo cult is victorious! Now we must establish our theocracy and prepare for the rest of the continent's salvation. Africa will never bow to the white man again!
Mathenge's Coup (PatAut):
Kenyatta has shown his weakness through his init
... keep reading on reddit β‘In preparation for a renovation I sprayed my kikuyu lawn for broadleaf weeds with Turfix and a week later Iβm finding the odd yellowing patch plus a general yellowing on the base layer of the lawn, but with the tips still looking nice and green.
Turfix is a mix of mecoprop, MCPA and dicamba and is meant to be safe on Kikuyu. Iβm very new to lawn care so am not sure if this is normal or if I should be concerned.
Any help or advice appreciated.
In what context is Kamau mwerΕ© nΔ© airaga used? Does airaga have any connotation?
If I have each of these grasses on either side of the yard, when they meet, who will win?
My understanding is that Kikuyu grows way faster but Zoysia is pretty tight when established.
What's the best way to learn? Through watching shows/convos ? I'd really love some suggestions
I have this stuff completely taking over the sunniest, lowest, front part of my yard right up against the sidewalk.

Seriously though it was ridiculous how many times they said it.
I saw a church sign board with the meeting time written as 11:00 cia hwainΔ©.
To me, I thought that meant there meeting time is 11pm, so I asked why a church would meet at close to midnight.
11:00 cia hwainΔ© actually means 5pm, and not 11pm.
So basically 8:00 cia hwainΔ© means 2pm
Is there a historical reason behind such approach to describing time that way?
I'm curious
