When you're constantly fighting your own brain.... I work a job that is FAR under my capabilities.... When I'm hypomanic, I beat myself up for not acheiving all that I feel that I could. When I'm depressed, I'm just proud of myself for being able to maintain 45 hours a week of work.... But I ALWAYS beat myself up for not "being where I should be in life". At least I have no kids, no legal record, and no serious substance abuse issues. Still....
I dunno. Just ranting. Raving? I don't know anymore. In any case, please feel free to comment. Or roast. Or offer solidarity. Or nothing. That's cool too. Glad I discovered Reddit and this community. I don't have a lot of friends. Sometimes its good to be able to vent in a space where other hominids might read and respond.... Rambling.....

Once the newest thing comes out I see how easy it is for me to get caught up in the frenzy. Everyone wants it and you feel like you need to jump into the frenzy to. All it is is this herd mentality and the need to fit in. You don't want to be the odd ball who's left out but screw crowds man. I've learned that if you follow the crowd you'll go no further than the crowd. Your wallet will thank you to because it's expensive to keep up with the latest trends. Also, the next best thing always comes out so you can never have enough. I'm just happy with what I have. I don't care if I have an S8 while everyone else has the S10 smartphone.

Some of my husbands family members are buying brand new houses. They have nice cars, fun toys, bug T.V.'s. (All these things on credit, they've told us..) I would be lying if I said it all doesny seem nice. Especially when you want to have everyone over at your place but you feel bad trying to fit everyone into your two bedroom apartment. But I am learning where to find my contentment. I'm learning how to work hard and have self control. I'm learning to live within our means. I'm learning how to live like no one else now, so I can live like no one else later! What would be some encouragement you would have for someone who is struggling with these feelings? Or am I the only one?!
