I don't want to potentially spoil too much, but after a certain scene early on in the book I wonder who that was. They mention the name besides other ones I recognize but I found many people named John Bartlett online, including a publisher and some politicians. Is this just a random name or am I missing an obscure history reference?

The issue of Genshin changing their publisher from Mihoyo to Cognosphere has sparked a bit of discussion recently. Ok, now let's look at the actual facts.
Mihoyo DID make an announcement, most people probably just didn’t read it. The announcement explained that the change was for publishing on various platforms and easier in-game purchases.
