A list of puns related to "Jimmy Heath"
Does anyone know which song Jimmy Heath is playing the first time in Primeβs The Devilβs Horn documentary? P.S. holy hell thatβs a smooth tone!
One year I spent a Christmas with Moody and his family in San Diego. I was returning from Japan via LA, so I decided to take a detour to spend some time with him. I remember telling Moody about a Jimmy Heath big band album I just got and how I enjoyed how Heath wrote for the sax section. Moody relayed a story to me about a time they were both in the sax section on Dizzyβs band. One day while on the road, Moody heard Heath practicing in the hotel room next to his, he was playing a pretty remarkable diminished pattern. At this point, Moody grabbed his flute and played the pattern for me. I was amazed that he still remembered it, but what's funny is I still remember it too, crazy! So, as the story goes, Moody talked to Diz who switched up the order of tunes on the next gig so Moody would be taking a solo before Heath. Moody launched into the diminished pattern and Heath just about fell out of his chair when he heard it. Moody said they had a good laugh about it.
If they could translate that into on-air segments they'd really have something.
Kalisto, I can't remember ever having mic time, at least on the main roster.
And people criticize the Usos for being bland Samoan Cenas, but Jimmy's actually really funny.
"If you thought Texas Chainsaw was a Massacre..." and "All of those flavors, and you chose salty." He was good on Total Divas, too.
I guess this continues the trend of Superstars showing star power on mediums except the most important form to do it.
EDIT: Damn this blew up. If /u/AustinCreed sees this he should be pleased at how many people are enjoying his show.
Great player and likely one of the last from that classic jazz generation!
Jimmy Heath is a name you rarely hear, but they're killin' on this one! Great players, highly recommended!
