#Lying generals
A former D.C. National Guard officer, Col. Earl Matthews, accused two Army generals of lying under oath to the House Oversight Committee and the Defense Department Inspector General.
Matthews recalls his experience serving under Commanding General of the D.C. National Guard William Walker (now retired) on Jan. 6 in a memo (pdf) sent to the January 6th Select Committee. He disputes the testimony given by Gen. Charles Flynn, who served as deputy chief of staff for operations on Jan. 6, and Lt. Gen. Walter Piatt, the director of Army staff, calling them βabsolute and unmitigated liars.β
>An analysis of the facts demonstrates that Piatt, Flynn and their confederates repeatedly and deliberately made false statements under oath or false official statements to the [Inspector General] and/or a congressional committee in order to support their contrived narrative, to discredit MG Walker, to absolve Army Senior Leaders of any responsibility in the delays on 6 January, and to burnish the promotion chances of Walter Piattβ¦
>Piatt and Flynn consistently and repeatedly misrepresented, understated, or misled the House Oversight Committee and the [Inspector General] regarding the capability, readiness and motivation of the [D.C. National Guard] to respond on the afternoon of 6 January. They falsely claimed that the [D.C. National Guard] did not have the training and resources to move quickly, to pivot from traffic control to civil disturbance operations. This was untrue. Flynn falsely stated that the Army Staff (which is supposed to be running the global operations of the U.S. Army) had to devote 30 to 40 officers and non-commissioned officers to get 154 ill-prepared DC Guardsmen to Capitol Hill. This assertion constituted the willful deception of Congress. It is

Dear Bruin Community:
We write today to share the news that UCLA will extend remote instruction through Jan. 28. While we had hoped that our safety protocols and enhanced testing requirements would be sufficient to allow us to resume in-person instruction after next week, regional and campus trends in positivity rates, as well as staffing and operational concerns, have led us to conclude that an extension of remote education is the prudent course of action.
We acknowledge that changes in plans driven by the shifting nature of the pandemic are difficult and we thank you for your patience and endurance. Please know that we are making this pivot in the interests of a healthier Bruin community. This decision is based on a number of factors, including high case rates on campus and in the region. Since the start of January, we have documented more than 1,200 new faculty, staff and student cases of COVID-19, which is impacting our teaching and campus services, as well as our ability to respond to this level of cases. Additionally, a smaller than anticipated percentage of eligible UCLA students (~34%) has received the vaccine booster thus far.
Nexonians,
A number of our banking partners are taking a break to mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan 17.
This can result in processing delays of one business day for some third-party fiat transactions.
Clarification: most Quebec universities planned to return Jan 3
I ordered a CSL DD and mclaren wheel on September 24th and got hit with the email on thanksgiving about a delay until Jan 3rd. I saw a bunch of people canceled, but Iβm still going to wait.
Hi all,
My edd is showing December 03 - December 17. I am looking for advice on extending the delivery to Jan 1 so I can get the tax credit.
In the order agreement it says that if I don't take delivery after 30 days they can cancel my order.
Seems my options are to let tesla know now that I don't want to pick up the car till January, or I wait till the car is here and refuse delivery and utilize the 30 day period.
What are others doing in the same boat? What would you do if you were in my shoes. Will I get my new car within 30 days if I refuse the first?
