So for those moments and people who are in an alliance, it sucks that we don't have any communication long distance. I know we can add each other and DM each other, but what's the fun in that?
I say we add some sort of bird in the crows nest, one that you can type out a short/long message onto a slip of paper, put it on the bird, and it will fly off to one of your allianced ships. Then once it reaches the ship, they hear a bell and maybe a different sounding squawk from the crows nest. They untie the message from the bird and it can either appear in every crewmate's inventory like a map, or it can just be broadcasted in the chat or something.
Maybe also it takes real time for the bird to reach the ship, so in the case that an enemy ship sees it flying overhead, they can either harpoon the message/lure the bird down by holding out fruit from the crows nest and intercept the message! Maybe it can also show the ship's coordinates from where the message was sent too.

it is Altair from the Maple Alliance again. In case you don't know what I am talking about, here are our first post and our most recent update.
Although there have not been major developments in our work yet, we thought it to be important to let you know what is going on, and possibly ask you for help if you have any information to give. For this reason, the post will serve as an update first and a call for help second.
Before we start, in case anyone does not know, here is very important information:
- KMS is holding a player conference this Sunday. The event was organized by Nexon in response to KMS players requesting transparency. The moment we get any news and translations will be a turning point for the Alliance as well, as it will shed more light on the future of Maplestory's operation and give us clearer goals to work on.
Update #1: State of the community
- For the time being, our Discord is still closed while we set up a good infrastructure. You will be updated as soon as it is made open. Just like before, if you are willing to apply as a moderator or simply want to contribute already, please DM me for the invite link - we are really in need of more help on this aspect.
- We have moved from brainstorming to action on the first of our working points: communication with Nexon. This post will illustrate how we are trying to tackle the issue and explain how you can contribute, if you are willing to and able.
- We have not yet been able to reach out to any prominent figures in the community, such as streamers, to give resonance to the movement. If you are reading this and you are in the position to help, please contact us.
- We are looking for ways to post updates outside Reddit, so that we can reach farther and have a more streamlined web page to consult. This is bound to be one of the next updates, as we already have good starting points.
