Hypothesis: Any human given any superpower would innately become a villain. Except One.

Much the same way any human given a billion dollars becomes evil and loses all regard for other people, given the power of flight, speed, laser vision, pyrokinesis, telepathy, transformation, etc. any person would start to use that power for selfish gain.

The exception being the ability to heal others. Not Yourself (no immortality) but a Healing Hands type power.

What do you think? Is there another power that could only be used for good? Thoughts on ways 'standard superpowers' would be twisted for personal gain?

Kenjaku is Tsumiki Fushiguro's mother, Toji Fushiguro's second wife, and the main mastermind behind the Star Plasma assassination.

Okay, I know I sound like I just inhale a lofty amount of crack while writing this, but hear me out.

(Disclaimers: I have no concrete evidence to back this theory up. This post is more like a "what-if" scenario that, if true, will allow for more insights with regard to how Kenjaku has been manipulating the jujutsu world so that it will eventually play right into his hands.)

I will hereby refer to Tsumiki Fushiguro's mother as Fushimama, in order to differentiate her and Megumi's mother (Megumama).

Background

As it is stated in the original storyline, after Toji Zen'nin left the Zen'nin household, he got married to Megumi's mother. However, Megumama passed away shortly after having Megumi due to unspecified causes.

Toji then got remarried to Fushimama, who brought Tsumiki with her, and changed his surname to Fushiguro.

After the Star Plasma arc, as Toji assassinated Riko Amanai and subsequently lost his life, Fushimama mysteriously disappeared without a trace, leaving Tsumiki and Megumi to fend for themselves until Satoru Gojo adopted them both (chapter 59).

Everything was (sorta) okay for a while; however, during Tsumiki's third year in high school, she got cursed and fell into a coma (chapter 59).

https://preview.redd.it/kgd870uco0b81.jpg?width=927&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4b66405c974de4316216b7c631a5561107f0b5f8

At the moment, she is woken up by Kenjaku to become a participant in the Culling Game (chapter 136).

https://preview.redd.it/on8x4x9eo0b81.jpg?width=784&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=71fd78a1df45154c4acde086b5fb417acee439d6

We are done with the background. In the next sections, I will review different hypotheses that I have come up with regarding Tsumiki Fushiguro and Toji Fushiguro - two people that I believe to have been and will continue to play a critical part in the main story - and the reasons why I believe that Kenjaku's deliberate presence in their life would make a lot of sense.

Tsumiki Fushiguro

As we have known so far, Tsumiki and Megumi are not related by blood. I wonder if this detail is intentional, because Gege could have easily made them share the same mother and nothing would be changed at all.

Hypothesis: Tsumiki is one of many finely curated children of Kenjaku, produced for the sole purpose of being a pawn in the Culling Game

It is stated by Ken

Cultural Warfare

Yan: Have you heard, Mithrax? It’s over! The war is over.

Mithrax: Yes, Yan, my friend. It is most welcome news! I have been most anxious for many cycles now.

Yan: Well that’s not all. The Humans have officially been granted status in the Galactic council.

Mithrax: Most fortuitous timing for them. To enter the council just as an era of peace is ushered in. Are they not a bit… inexperienced for such a responsibility though?

Yan: They are indeed a young race. It was merely a byproduct of the war that they were discovered at all. Had the Aarkadian fleet not made incursions into their surrounding stellar neighborhood we wouldn’t have bothered to make first contact for many more years. But when a sentient species is uncovered it is policy to make introductions, even if such a race is all but doomed to be devoured by the Aarkadians within the year.

Mithrax: We were losing that badly?

Yan: Oh yes, a colleague assured me that the war was not going well. Not well at all. His human friend told him of an expression for such a situation: β€œon the ropes”. I am told it comes from a primitive combat sport of humans called β€œboxing” and alludes to one fighter’s imminent demise in a short time.

Mithrax: A curious expression. And you feel it applies to the Galactic fleet?

Yan: He was quite adamant. The council had already begun preparations for surrender when the humans were discovered. There was talk of skipping the first contact protocols altogether, and allowing them to simply be overrun with no warning. And indeed the humans should have been overrun… but they are a strange species.

Mithrax: Do you mean to insinuate that the humans fought back against the Aarkadian Empire? Within a fortnight of exposure to the Galactic council?

Yan: Yes.. in a manner of speaking.

Mithrax: I was under the impression that race had scarcely left its own atmosphere. If the nets are to be believed, they’d only just harnessed a rudimentary form of fission, and fusion was only theoretical on their single world. FTL? Bah, it would be a hundred or more years before they achieved such a goal.

Yan: Yes I have heard all these same assumptions. But you misunderstand. The Humans did not enter the council after the Aarkadian Empire sued for armistice, but because of it.

Mithrax: Because of … how do you mean?

Yan: While it seems the Aarkadian battle nets are most secure, highly encrypted. Presumably the battle net contains Aarkadian fleet movements and tactica

SERIOUS: This subreddit needs to understand what a "dad joke" really means.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

The Awakening Project - Chapter 1 - A theoretical foundation for the project

Preface

Project scope

  1. In life we experience a great deal of negative valence associated with 'Dukkha' ... or suffering ... which in turn is a result of how we process that which we perceive. The cognitive friction which comes about in the interplay between perception and apperception. Deeply rooted mental models coloring our experience of our lives. This negative valence is pervasive always hidden just below the very surface of the hyper distracted mind. The negative valence is sometimes noticeable enough to be recognized and sometimes so strong that it drives us into despair. Basically our experience of our lives sucks - to varying degrees!!
  2. The processing of what we perceive happens in a set describable pattern or chain of mental events. This pattern is marked by the very first heavily practiced reactionary movement of the mind called Trishna in Sanskrit (Tanha in Pali, Thirst in English). Trishna comes into play against all sense contact. The very act of being alive and conscious but ignorant of this chain of events and therefore helpless before it, creates a potential to feel sucky all the time! The suckiness is kicked off by Trishna
  3. We can teach the mind to first recognize this pattern, clearly discerning each and every mental event and then interrupt it at various points in the chain. As we go about our lives we can keep releasing ourselves from dukkha. And finally learn not to 'thirst' not to do the Trishna-ing .... at all! .... for anything! Thus never again experiencing Dukkha. The suckiness can stop
  4. The Awakening Project is meant to teach the reader how to do this. It presents the theoretical models that we need to accept as a guide in order to practice and free the mind from Dukkha. The theory in The Awakening Project is not a philosophical description of how things really are. Standalone, the theory has absolutely no power to create knowledge and wisdom of the kind that comes from direct experience in practice. It is this direct experience which is needed to free us from Dukkha. The theory has to be used to guide practice. We cultivate the self observational skills required, then we apply those skills towards studying how the mind works to create Dukkha. Through this skill building and self observation comes about knowledge of the mind's workings, the wisdom required to manage the mind and finally the dispassion towards the m

Skinwalkers are Jinn. Hear me out.

Hi! I’m a Muslim, and I’ve researched copious amount about jinn (our equally conscious neighbor on this Earth). After researching about Skinwalkers, I’m fairly certain they’re Jinn that have been been allowed to take physical form easier in SW regions through ritual. Before calling me out, please fully hear me out, as I’d honestly love feedback on this hypothesis!

Jinn are being composed on an energy body, which is in duality to our human bodies composed of matter. The key thing to know is that the Jinns’ most famous ability is shapeshifting, ESPECIALLY into dogs and humans. The Jinns’ other abilities include β€œinstant” transportation of objects by converting matter to energy, transporting it at near light speed, and converting back into matter (This is how Solomon apparently used the Jinn to build magnificent structures). Jinn are also able to possess human beings, animals, and inanimate objects.

Muslims do not believe in ghosts of human beings. We believe all these to be malicious jinn pretending to be dozens of identities over the millennia. Shapeshifters, ghosts, demons, fallen angels, spirits, etc. We believe Lucifer is a Jinn, since fallen angels are impossible as angels are incorruptible. However, please do note, that just as humans, all jinn are NOT bad. Many are benevolent (think spirit guides), while most are probably neutral and don’t interact with us.

The interesting part (coming back to Skinwalkers) is that not all Jinn can do all abilities. Only the strongest jinn can perform acts such as shapeshifting into humans or transportation of large objects over large distances. This is similar to how only handful of humans out of 7 billion probably have real psychic abilities, or even how working out makes you stronger. I don’t know if these abilities are innate, or if every Jinn can attain them through training.

For example, only 1 Jinn in Soloman’s army was able to steal the giant throne (think game of thrones) from the queen of another kingdom without them being able to react. The jinn brought it to Soloman from another country before Soloman finished standing up. Another example of skill levels is how shapeshifting into a human is much more advanced than into an animal, or possessing a human is more more advanced than an object.

When I recently read that the Native American medicine men performed rituals to ask the Skinwalkers to fight the colonizers, it immediately reminded me of how the only way for humans to interact with jinn is throu

Strangers from Hell Broader (Theme) Analysis Part 4: Moral Implications: Who Is the Monster and Who Is the Man? [Part 4/6]

Would I have had my heaven?

PART 3 Moon-Jo's Philosophy Wrap-Up: Is It about the Killing? + Religious Symbolism (+ Uvula!)

PART 5 The Policewoman I (favorite part <3)

PART 6 Policewoman II, Thoughts on the Gangster, Further Research Ideas and Literary Allusions

Anyone still with me? <3

Okay, so after all this, let’s talk about the moral evaluation and implications, and I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable doing this to be honest. I mean, honestly guys, I don’t want to condone serial killers, but looking at the drama, I can see where Moon-Jo is coming from.

Part of what makes this so uncanny is the fact that Jong-u and Moon-Jo are actually the morally superior ones in the drama or at least they impersonate values that most of us would agree with, and in this, they stand remarkably apart from the characters around them (murderers in Eden residence and normal people alike!), which makes them appear as the actual sane people in a world full of β€œcrazy assholes”, as Jong-u would put it.

After all, Moon-Jo seems to be of the opinion that you should follow a certain moral code, that you should treat the people around you β€œappropriately” and act appropriately as well: He acknowledges values like cleanliness, neatness, education, that people should contribute to the society around them: as opposed to all the other characters in the residence, Moon-Jo is the only one with a job. This even goes for Ms. Um, albeit to a more limited degree. Whereas she did run an orphanage and kind of β€œruns” a residence now and makes money from the rent she gets, the amount she charges is so small that Jong-u wonders how that can be possible (ep. 1) and the guy who had a look at Eden residence but didnt end up becoming a tenant in ep. 5 possibly thought the same when he asked Ms. Um β€œDid you say the rent is 200,000 won?” (this is not a strong point though, just a comment, since he couldve meant it the way Ms. Um understood it, namely as β€œit’s too expensive”. However, when she offers to lower the price, he still refuses.) In any case, I think it’s safe to assum

Toward a new theory of gender II: on the harmful notion of 'toxic masculinity'

This post is about the term "toxic masculinity" and why many people in the MRM consider it harmful. As I consider it a slur, the phrase will be abbreviated as 'TM'. Before I go into detail about why I think usage of the term TM is harmful, I want to elaborate on how traditional masculine gender roles have indeed harmed men in many ways. This perspective is important, but as I explain later, the problem is not with the individual man, but that society at large is still blind to the extent of male suffering, and forces often cruel standards on men that they cannot escape if they want to live a happy life.

Men have always been shamed for not adhering to strict standards of masculinity, i.e. what was required of them by society at the time. There is an expectation that masculinity is something that has to be "earned". The transition from boy to man is often portrayed to be more of an ordeal based on hardships with the goal to achieve fame and social standing or to preserve some ideal for society's greater good. This can be observed in various cultures around the world, for example the Filipino tradition called Tulì, which is "regarded as a culturally sanctioned rite of passage from boyhood to manhood resulting in significant PTSD-like symptoms among much of the male population" (Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among Filipino boys subjected to non-therapeutic ritual or medical surgical procedures: A retrospective cohort study, Boyle & Ramos, 2019). According to the same paper:

>Typically, an elderly man (manong) stretches the boy's foreskin over a wooden anvil (tree stump), places a β€œcut-throat” barber's razor (labaha) lengthwise on top of the foreskin and then with a few quick blows slices the foreskin wide open, thereby exposing the glans. The resultant traditional dorsal slit (superincision), while damaging in and of itself, at least spares thousands of erogenous nerve endings and highly specialized sensory receptors located within the inner foreskin. The newly-cut boys then bathe in the cool water of a nearby river or stream in order to lessen the pain, and they also apply chewed guava leaves to the genital wound in an attempt to control bleeding and promote more rapid healing.

Another example is the SaterΓ©-MawΓ© tribe in Brazil, where they fill wicker gloves with bullet ants and put a sedative on them to make all of them fall as

The amount of misinformation surrounding Naturally Acquired Immunity IS TOO DAMN HIGH!

I could, and did, and will continue to, argue with people of good faith on the effectiveness of lockdowns, masks, distancing, IFRs, Ivermectin, and a whole host of evolving understandings around the many issues surrounding Covid and our responses to it.

Maybe I'm right, maybe they're right. But it's a useful discussion and the truth on many of these isn't simply black and white settled science.

But not so with Naturally Acquired Immunity.

As Martin Kulldorff, Harvard Professor of Medicine recently stated:

> Among many surprising developments during this pandemic, the most stunning has been the questioning of naturally acquired immunity after a person has had the Covid disease.

Indeed.

The professor also made reference to the medical community's understanding of NAI going back as far as the Athenian Plague in 430 BC.

> β€˜Yet it was with those who had recovered from the disease that the sick and the dying found most compassion. These knew what it was from experience and had no fear for themselves; for the same man was never attacked twiceβ€”never at least fatally.’ – Thucydides

So internalized has the misinformation surrounding naturally acquired immunity become that a recent heavily upvoted comment reply to that quote reads as follows:

> LOL you lost me at Athenian Plague. They didn’t have vaccines back then. Only a fucking idiot would put that in writing, in this context, without any sense of irony.

> How in the hell can anyone take you seriously after parroting something so goddamn dumb

People can no longer even conceive of how naturally acquired immunity exists, and historical references to post-infection immunity are "goddamn dumb" because "They didn't have vaccines back then."

Chew on that for a moment, and weep for humanity. A Harvard professor of medicine is a "fucking idiot" for referencing the historical understanding of naturally acquired immunity. That's how far, how deep, how polarized, how completely internalized the misinformation has become. Naturally acquired immunity just doesn't exist. Only the vaccines confer immunity.

[head meets desk]

So, as a public service to anyone who might still care, here's my most recent collection of up to date medical studies and expert opinions on the efficacy of naturally acquired immunity.

The floating box β€” blue, slightly translucent and faintly glossy β€” was exactly as I’d remembered it. Yet not once in a million years would I have expected to be shown a System screen by a dragon, of all things.

At the same time, a number of puzzle pieces fell into place β€” the dragons’ absurd power was now back in the realm of reason. Of course they had System access β€” how else could they surpass the other species so thoroughly? Scholars had attributed their power to innate ability, but there was only so much a creature of flesh and bone could do on its own.

And their strange abilities, their magic that didn’t behave like magic. I should have realized it was a skill. But who would have expected it when they were so rare?

For all the mysteries it answered, though, the revelation created just as many new questions. Such asβ€”

A forensic case for both God's existence and his decisive revelation in the figure of Jesus of Nazareth

First off, I don't think you necessarily need arguments to produce belief in God. I would agree with Plantinga that there is an innate sense of God. That doesn't mean, however, that apologetics is useless. Atheists are in a sense spiritually blind in many cases, under Plantinga's epistemology. They therefore need sufficient warrant for believing in Christian truth claims. Here I will present a somewhat original presentation for the existence of God, as well as for his decisive revelation in the person of Jesus.

  1. The kalam cosmological argument

I'm pretty sure we're all familiar with this one. Just to get it on the table:

  1. everything that begins to exist has a cause
  2. the universe began to exist
  3. therefore, the universe has a cause

People like Alexander Pruss do a great job of showing that rejection of the causal principle would be claiming that no mathematical or scientific investigation could ever make sense of the origin of the universe. (see: http://alexanderpruss.com/papers/ENNFtalk.html the end of the paper linked in these brackets). Yet they are wrong, people have made sense of it. For example, the Hartle-Hawking model. This is a reductio ad absurdum of rejection of the causal principle. If rejecting the causal principle means rejecting scientifically evidenced mathematical enquiry - of any sort - about the origins of the universe, then all I can say is that the objector to the causal principle has the burden of proof here to show that rejection of the causal principle is a correct picture of reality.

  1. The Son rises

People often think (due to the lasting legacy of Humean views on miracles, among other fallacious deist objections to miracles) that the resurrection of Jesus is something one accepts on faith, and that's all it's based on. I strongly disagree. There are five what I will refer to as 'great facts' about Jesus considered as a historical figure, known from historico-critical analysis of the earliest of Biblical sources, that mean that a broad majority of scholars of the New Testament - of all stripes- have gleaned from a historico-critical analysis that these five facts are "virtually undeniable" in the words of the Austrian specialist Jacob Kremer on a historical level.

These facts may be categorised and understood as follows;

  1. Jesus was executed by Roman crucifixion- this fact is important as it shows the location of Jesus' body was known to a broad swathe of the populati
