A list of puns related to "In the Heights (film)"
Iβm still curious how they filmed it since Tucci isnβt that much shorter than Streep but they definitely went all out.
Although...should they had hired a 6β2β actress instead of Meryl Streep?
There are signs on a street in the Heights for a film shooting tomorrow. Does anyone know what movie this is for? I tried searching online but found nothing. I wonder if it's for the Joker since they had been shooting in JSQ not long ago. Also, RIP parking and relatively calm life
With Steve Cohen appearing to be lurking in the shadows, I came to realize that this story is playing out much the same way as the 1990 Michael Keaton/Melanie Griffith/Matthew Modine thriller Pacific Heights. Spoilers ahead, although the movie is 30 years old...
Google's description of the movie:
Unmarried yuppies Patty (Melanie Griffith) and Drake (Matthew Modine) move into an expensive dream home in a high-end neighborhood in San Francisco. As they renovate the house, they look for a tenant for the first floor of their house. Carter Hayes (Michael Keaton) seems like a great fit at first, but it transpires that he is a con artist who plans to swindle them out of their real estate. As Hayes tries to drive them out of their own home, the couple must take drastic measures to fight back.
Description with plot points swapped for the Mets situation:
Father-son duo Fred (Fred Wilpon) and Jeff (Jeff Wilpon) take their Major League team into an expensive dream stadium in Queens while dealing with the fallout of the Bernie Madoff ponzi scheme. As they retool the roster, they look to minority owners to buy shares in the team to help inject money into the organization. A billionaire (Steve Cohen) seems like a great fit at first as a rich, life-long Mets fan, picking up 8% of the team. He then agrees to become majority owner in a deal reported to be $2.6 billion. But as Cohen tries to renegotiate the deal to become controlling owner sooner, the Wilpons must take drastic measures to sell the team through a more traditional auction.
Sorry for posting this to so many theatre-related subs, but I know that not everyone reads news on Broadwayworld/playbill...https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Warner-Bros-Postpones-IN-THE-HEIGHTS-Film-Indefinitely-20200324 In The Heights has been postponed until further notice. I totally understand why and almost expected this, but still.
