A list of puns related to "Illuminations (poetry collection)"
My tommy gunβs larynx is jammed,
while aiming at our cabin on the beach.
No echoes blast across the sand.
And thereβs our cabinβs slanted stance.
Like a ghost, inside asleeps the old me.
His tommy gunβs larynx will be jammed.
Behind my back the sea revamps
as waves retune their slurred and shushing speech.
No echoes blast across the sand.
I halt upon the quiet land,
and pull the trigger, anxious for clattered screams,
but my tommy gunβs larynx is jammed.
The tiny clicking clicks again.
Fifty bullets stay inside the drum magazine.
No echoes blast across the sand.
This tommy gun becomes the most unloyal machine.
The trigger- pulling, pulling, pulling sorry-clicks for me.
My tommy gunβs larynx is jammed.
No echoes blast across the sand.

Hello everyone! Hope y'all are having a great day!
So long story short, I'm looking for books that are collections of poetry by the authors who wrote them. I saw a post here saying that Rupi Kaur isn't really what you can call a great poet but sadly she's what most of the lists on the internet show to be great. So I'm looking for any other suggestions for books to purchase or read that most of you can call excellent as someone who wants to get into poetry again. Thank you so much!
I'd like to get into poetry, but I'm really put off by the excess of poetry about romantic or sexual relationships. I found a list of popular contemporary poets and thought I'd check out rupi kaur, but I really disliked both the collections I read. They weren't bad, but the subject matter made me uncomfortable/disinterested.
I'm down for reading about most topics. Friendship, nature, morality, different cultures, comedy, whatever. I really enjoy wordplay and more complex poetic structure.
I have self published a poetry collection, about 15 poems about motherhood and Christmas. I have sold 20 copies to friends and gave away about 600 copies during 5 day free give away. Is 99 cents good price? Or should it be 1.98 or 2.99?
The title of the collection is Reading Masterpiece. They are a series of poems inspired by some art masterpieces, such as Van Gogh, Monet, Klee, etc. I will try to upload daily.

I'm looking for a collection of latin American poetry, preferably in Spanish. Bonus points if it's an illustrated book. Thanks for any help!
A while ago I came across a poetry collection by a Tibetan lama who I can't remember the name of. His name was something like Lama A___ (four letters). Much of the poetry was very nature-oriented from what I remember. Can anyone help with this? Thanks!
Edit: also he's a contemporary lama, either still alive or recently deceased I'm pretty sure.
It was a short book of poems in which all the chapters were parts of the human body. Iβm 95% sure βThe Lungsβ and βThe Mouthβ were two chapters. Iβm also pretty sure it was a male poet.
I want to get more into poetry. I already like Mary Oliver and Poe. Some favorite lyricists are Tom Waits, Elliott Smith, and Phoebe Bridgers.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks for your help.
I had an interesting thought and was wondering if I could get some feedback on it.
I'm a writer/filmmaker in Toronto and just completed my second poetry collection. As with most unsolicited creative works I didn't know what to do with it right now; covid has barred any chance of a This collection is unique in that it doesn't exist anywhere wholly in a physical form, let me explain. The book is comprised of real typewritten pages which lie atop pressed flowers which sit directly on the scanner. . No editing of any kind has touched the scanned files, and as the flower petals were not bonded to the pages at all, only the original scanned tiff files (only one scan for each page exists) truly represent the work. It can never be repeated as it is currently scanned.
I had the idea to turn it into a WEBM NFT and mint it on opensea. People often complain that you don't really "own" the work when you purchase an NFT (all art ownership is and always has been subjective, I don't know why the concept of an NFT is hard for people to grasp). In this case however, an accurate physical reproduction truly cannot even exist, as it was neither created completely neither in the physical or digital world. Each frame/page in the webm file would itself be a an original digital negative
As I can tell no one has minted a book before. I thought you might all have some thoughts. I've attached the cover and table of contents to clarify the layout. Let me know if anyone thinks this is a good/unique idea or if I'm off my ass on Christmas gin 'n tonic which reminds me, merry christmas you filthy animals.

Beautifully honest poems about motherhood, love and faith. Joys of snuggles with a precious baby intertwine with tears of sleepless nights in the backdrop of Christmas.
Here is one of the poems!
the night shift (an excerpt)
every night we become master burpers, sooth sayers, rockers; our prayers go straight up
every night we lose our breath, our pace goes a little faster - over excitement while the sleep deficit is building up
every night ends and daytime brings rest baby turns back into a sleeping angel calmingly nursing on schedule
until the next night

Reflecting back on my long and frustrating journey to conceive and grappling with sleepless nights of new motherhood gave birth to this poetry collection.
I just started working on my next project which is more about autism and self exploration so I have been sharing drafts of poems here. However if anyone wants to see a finished and published poetry, then I decided to share it.
Aconitum is a poetry collection about friendships, love, the pressure of expectations, and more thoughts from the mind of a teenage girl. Through poetry and prose, Aconitum describes the pain, confusion, and raw emotion that comes with growing up.
"sometimes,
people will accept you
and treat them as your own
only until you dig beneath the surface
and bring up the real things
because the only things
that are holding them together
are the thin tarps
over the dark holes."
Sound familiar? Perhaps something youβd like to read more of? If so, maybe youβll like Aconitum: A Poetry Collection, my new (and first) book! Aconitum is a collection of poems about friendship, heartbreak, and growing up as a teenager in the 21st century, now available for only six USD on Amazon.
