I’m planning on applying for Hurons Economics program. The fact that class size average is around 30 is very appealing to me. My question is what is it like being in a affiliation college? I don’t have much background knowledge on it. Are you still pretty much a Western student? Can you access all of Westerns facilities? Can you take courses at Western or only Huron? I know you graduate with a Western U degree but how much of a Western student are you when your in a affiliation college?

Is there an infographic or easy-to-follow summary of the connections across their albums? I keep trying to understand how they are connected, specifically (I get the broad thematic connections, just not the character/story arcs).

To be clear, I have only listened to the album, watched the Live From the Whispering Pines music videos (not the whole thing), and checked the store, so if there’s stuff I’m missing please let me know.
From what I can tell, Long Lost doesn’t SEEM to be as lore heavy and story driven as Vide Noire or Strange Trails. Instead, it’s much more obsessed with its theme, of being lost and forgotten, how art survives the artist and whatnot. And I don’t mind it. In fact, it’s a lovely theme Lord Huron explores incredibly well.
But having said that, as someone who enjoys lore and big epic stories, Long Lost is a little weird. It seems to be a recording of a variety show without the actual set (at least if you just listen to the album). I know Tubb’s is the guy who owns the Whispering Pines studio where the show is and he seems to be super sentimental but that’s about it. Does the lore tie into the larger LH story? Is one of the performers meant to be from Strange Trails? Do we get anything new hidden information at all about the grander world?

I've tried searching, but perhaps I'm using the wrong search terms. Although it did some up with a similar query asked by someone in this subreddit about a month ago. But just in case not everyone saw that, I figured I would ask again.

It sounds like something is up, around Huron Church, maybe around the University. I hear a lot of really long, drawn-out, horn sounds. Cars, trucks, a lot of different notes, all held really long. Pausing occasionally. Restarted again just now. Anyone know what's going on?
Edit: Oh no...! That sounds worse than I had imagined! Well, I am glad I decided not to go investigate. I feel kinda gross for having called attention to what they're doing at all. I suppose it's still better that I know, now, at least. Thanks, all.

Half a day after the Grand Assembly.
Founder Unarin silently strides into his core offices, the key floors of the Founder's Thumb, one of the five towers comprising the Founder's Fingers. Not far from the topmost levels, his core offices rest on the 341st through 350th floors.
The number of personnel inside this highly restrictive zone are few and far between. Unlike the largely insular towers of the other four Founders, a variety of Volgrim subspecies work here, consisting primarily of Technopaths, Psions, and Changelings. All of them are high-level leaders of various factions in the Volgrim Empire, and possess an incredible amount of pull with their respective organizations, as they answer directly to Unarin himself.
However, among these executives are also a few of The Ascended, the same subspecies as Unarin himself. While nearly the entirety of the Ascended live inside of simulation pods spread across thousands of worlds, a few designated ones work inside the First Finger. Muuxunuu counts among them, but she is not the only one.
Unarin strides up to one of the few and far-between Ascended, a male with obsidian-black skin manipulating holograms in the air which show a battle taking place around one of the Outer Rim worlds in the 'northwest quadrant' of the Milky Way.
"Commander Randis." Unarin says. "How are things looking?"
Even as he asks, Unarin's eyes flick to the numerous highly classified readings hovering in the air, the red and blue 'blips'

Founder Dosena folds her hands behind her back. She levitates a meter above the Founder's Platform and assumes a dignified pose.
[Our species faces multiple existential threats. In addition to the Kolvaxians and the Wordsmith, the First Emperor of Demonkind has also made an appearance, shortly following the conclusion of the Battle for Hell Harbor.]
Dosena pauses to allow the other Volgrim to mentally acknowledge her words before continuing.
[Our galaxy is changing. As Founder Unarin mentioned before, during the battle against the Cherubiim, the demons succeeded in momentarily breaking through the barrier of Demon Emperor. We previously believed this feat impossible, yet it seems the demons are also capable of becoming a Founder-level threat, just like the Wordsmith and the Kolvaxians. We cannot remain complacent or assume the elites of our people will save us all. There are only so many brilliant minds to go around, and far more advancements we must make if we hope to weather this storm.]
Dosena holds up her hand. An object materializes in her grasp, one she takes great care not to touch. A faint but noticeable pressure emanates from it, one which all the Psions can detect, though the other sub-species cannot.
[This is a Heroic Artifact.] Dosena states. [It is Solomon's Crown, previously thought lost during Earth's destruction. It is an artifact capable of toppling empires... and through a stroke of good fortune, it has landed in our hands.]

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

"The Kolvaxians are a threat the likes of which our people might not survive. However, if we pool our resources together and follow Founder Unarin's direction, I believe that eventually, we will purge the galaxy of this alien threat."
She lowers her arms and falls silent for a moment before continuing.
"In the eighty-five thousand cycles since the Kolvaxians have appeared, we have lost tens of trillions of fellow Volgrim. Thousands of worlds have fallen. Mighty warriors and elites have perished, never to return. We have increased the speed at which we replicate new Volgrim spawn, and yet, I feel that we have lost something important. Today, countless younger members of our species do not know the glory that once was our empire. They know only the creeping dread of our seemingly unstoppable enemy. Before I discuss the Kolvaxians in greater detail, let me tell you about our people and our rich, storied history."

Sheriff Jerry L. Clayton is pleased to inform the public that The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office Metro Dispatch Center in partnership with all Washtenaw County 911 centers and police agencies has initiated Text-to-9-1-1 service for all cities/jurisdictions in Washtenaw County. The system integration of this important initiative is funded by the Emergency Communication Mileage passed by the voters in Washtenaw County.
Dispatch center officials have been developing operational protocols for months and began testing the program in early November 2021. Wireless customers can now send a text to 9-1-1 in an emergency. Due to inherent delays in Short Message Service (SMS) communications, Text-to-911 should only be used in an emergency situation when placing a call is not possible. For instance, if the caller is deaf, hard-of-hearing, speech impaired, or when speaking out loud would put the caller in danger. When seconds matter, a voice call to 9-1-1 is the best and fastest way for the 9-1-1 call taker to receive and deliver life-saving information. A text message may take longer.

Despite Randis's utterly casual remark, lacking any respect or discipline, Unarin does not reprimand him.
"I see. Have any high-level Psions fallen?"
"No." Randis answers. "I've been careful to keep them in the backlines. We don't want a repeat of the Goltaris Prime incident."
"Have Huron and Sartron's doppelgangers appeared at this battle?"
Randis shakes his head. "They're too busy tearing apart our flanks in the eastern galaxy."
Unarin closes his eyes for a moment, then opens them and starts to walk away. Without even saying goodbye, he turns to walk toward a stairwell leading to the next floor up.
Before he leaves, Randis calls out to him.
"Brother!"
